Could be wrong, but I think that glowing speck is just a post-processing object. The darkening effect on the camera begins at that object (which is why it's impossible to see anything), and it glows so it's easier to see for development.
A programming thing 'take object, place here.. insert water at edge of map, flow in. when touches artifact.. dissapear'? rather then triggering the invisible, they just reused an old object to attach the script to?'
I feel like going clock-wise and starting with the Green Haven (green artifacts) could be a good start and you’ll end where you started, the Tiki Wharf (plus you only need 10 green artifacts left)
The lights on your sub were working while you were in build mode. You could have put a light on the bottom of your sub and seen the object in the vortex.
Judging from how all the water pulls towards that glowing speck in the vortex I would say that it's probably the "drain" it's probably a glowing orb to make it easier to manipulate for editing.
I agree with you, however, in game design, that "drain" would be called an "empty", which is short for an "empty object" where it has no physical properties or any properties at all really other than it's vector3 positional data as well as it's child-parent hierarchy and obviously it's name property and class designation (if you even want to call "class" a property, even though "class" is read-only and not something you can change).
Mt Magma Please! I like volcano and red. Also, when you can build in/under the vortex, you can use lights to see the area while in build mode. That way you can study the yellow thing there. I love the way the series is going. Continue making great content! =)
8:18 Yeah torrential can be used for both, the rain one is basically a monsoon, water is a super strong current like a river rapids or a large whirlpool
Pro tip: I you're driving a vehicle that's in your transformation menu and it breaks a little bit in the air, you can just re-transform into it as a repair that keeps all of your speed AND you can do it anywhere. In my experiences, this is very useful for flying vehicles.
i do this all the time with my plane that has detachable bombs. just transform into the plane again for a clean reload. also works for another plane which blows itself up. I can respawn it with the transform and hop in while still in the air.
Scrapman, I think it's better if you explore the full map. So that it's easy for you to find artifact. Or maybe you can do both of them simultaneously. I would prefer doing the blue one as most of the are near it is still unknown
Bringing 1 artifact to the extraction point automatically lights up a random artifact of the same color for you. There's absolutely no reason to scout the map, other than gettingthe gold chest and the easter eggs.
I started on red (clockwise, but ended in the red area when exploring the map) then went clockwise, I just wanted the end off with yellow because I hate underwater caves and exploring them.
i think the stuff in the vortex mouth is just a easter egg as i found a brick built shark inside it with the help of a industructable seat and lights by someone in build mode but its just meant to be a kill zone
Scrapman, thank you for making videos. You, Kan, Kosmo, and Moonbo have been here to cheer me up when I need it. Recently I have went through a breakup that destroyed me, then I lost all of my friends, but you have been here, making funny and awesome videos to cheer me up when I need it, so thank you Scrapman.
It looks like some sort of explosive to me, so if you activate it by collecting all the artifacts, you may be able to detonate and kill/deter the Vortex and save the world or something like that.
Two things: 1. Try using top of seat camera in the sub, I think it looks really good 2. Try to anchor an indestructible seat to the bottom using build mode to put the "vehicle" already on the ground
Seeing how the water is pretty much all converging on that glowing orb, it's probably a vertex left over that's a point where the physics and textures of the water for the vortex are hinging around. The point of a lot of 3D artwork isn't to get things absolutely perfect, it's to get it good enough that it's believable. That orb isn't supposed to be seen so the devs probably left it there figuring it'd be fine. Now it's a troll for players to keep jumping into the vortex to try and "get" it.
2 things: Drop a yellow artifact into the vortex, if the orb changes colour then drop a different artifact of the same colour as the orb, rinse and repeat untill something happens If nothing happens when you drop the artifact, then complete the mode by going clockwise from the starting point and then go inside to see if anything has happened
that's the one I did first... …and the only. edit: just got red done. edit 2: (20 min later) just got blue gone as well edit 3:(another 50 min later) as far as I am concerned I have finished the high seas.
The glowing orb seems similar to the orbs on the cables/pipes you saw in the ice caves bellow the sub zero base. It might be like caples/pipes runing from the coleccton areas to the vortex.
THANK YOU. i know im months behind on watching this but i was scrolling through to see if anybody else saw this. everybody thinks its either a bomb or an editing prop to "center" the vortex. its identical to the pipeline! :)
If it doesn't respawn the artifact and It gets stuck there, it's pretty much "game over" if it's as he said, and you have to bring all of them to the right portal as the game tells you to do at the start...That also makes the most sense.
What If the statue with a yellow tip means that you need to throw in a yellow statue, so if you threw it in it may be a book with a green tip would be there instead of the statue and you have to put one artifact of each color in there so it doesn‘t kill you anymore?Just one of my thoughts tho. Would be too cool if it worked!
When in build mode, the lights still work, so use the lights to get a clear view of the object. My thought though is that it is a catalyst for the damaging field around it which is supposed to destroy all blocks and people near it
lights wont effect the blindness effect since its restricting your field of view to nothing. the objects in the center are a pipeline from Sub Zero and a cushion tire from Red Harbor
Tip: I don't know if it works, but when you go into the artifact-collector-pole things. Try turning the magnets off then on quick, so you don't bug down in the ground/water.
i'd still love to see him haul a mass of different colors, and then just throw all of them at a ring, making a funny shotgun of the wrong colors flying at the dock area. Obviously you'd need to drop the books off first if you're at the yellow or blue rings
i think the answer is kinda obvious from a game design perspective(im currently a student) that vortex is designed like 'Charybdis' the greek sea monster. its there to act as an obstacle in the centre of the map for you to avoid and thus it kills you if you enter it. it makes sense as that whirlpool current if you managed to reach its centre would probably spin your vehicle ridiculously fast, possible sending you flying at high speeds in a way that would break the game, or just be too much to actually run in game, so instead they kill you and force you to respawn to prevent it.
My vote is for the green one. Not only is it the closest goal, but by getting the other green artifacts you should also find more of the other ones while exploring.
