It's great stuff, will be my go to matt varnish for sure. It surprises me that we don't see more war gaming and military modelling paints and sundries in the model railway world, most modellers seem obsessed with Humbrol, Railmatch or Phoenix paints. There is a good bunch of us now using other brands. All the best, HS.
Hey Hey, Thanks for showing the before and after, really good example. What ratio of varnish/thinner did you use and have you tried mixing it with other varnishes to get a different level of flatness? Cheers
I've found the AK varnish the best so far, I've just one more to trial😊👍✌️ I've noticed that some of my beloved Lifecolor (sic) paints are now satin instead of matt, so I've had to add a flatting agent. I'll not be buying those again, I'll look for alternatives. There are one or two UK paint firms who will provide absolutely flat matt paints. There are times when a sheen is required - I sometimes add in Johnson's Klear to achieve such😊👍✌️
Yes, I think this AK Varnish is incredible, I love the fact you can brush it on, and it dries fast. Great stuff. Think my brother used the Johnson's Klear on some models once, I've never used it, maybe one project some day. I've never had, or should that be noticed, that issue with my Lifecolor paints, I shall take note next time I'm using them. I do love Lifecolor paints, I have a reasonable selection, but I seem to buy a new paint with every project. I'm liking a lot of the AK range too including the MIG series. Recently I bought some Vallejo paints to try from the air range. There is so much choice out there to choose from, every time I look I find another paint manufacturer. All the best, HS

Hi! Could you help me how to thin this varnish for airbrush? I mean how much thinne to how much varnish. Thank you for your help!
I have the same issue 50/50 still seems to clog the 3 airbrushes I have.
I'm using 4 drops of thinner for every 20 drops of varnish. No clogging at all, and my airbrush is pretty cheap.
