    Dingo Pictures in an anomaly but one I’m absolutely fascinated by. I like how they try to make interconnected films with a bizarre sense of what is appropriate for children’s films. What I would give to see a recording session of their English dubs.

    That's cool that we have a time frame for when these movies got most of their dubs! It was already assumed Dingo's usual English dubs started around this time, and Art Media/East-West definitly did their dubs in the 2000s because they use euros instead of marks.

    I'm really surprised and happy about how many infos we're getting in these years about Dingo Pictures. I remember like 13 years ago we knew nothing about this company except for their movies and a few names in the credits wich ment nothing to us, but now we can see a whole new side to it, a more "human" side if it makes sense. Like the creators of the company clearly had a project in their mind and while the result of said project is probably not what they were expecting, they still managed to give us hours of entertainment and good laughs.

    Honestly, the fact that Dingo Pictures is commissioned by a school book publisher may explain some of the more educational stuff, such as Hampie the humpback whale.

      The thing about ‘No violence’ doesn’t match up either. There’s a fair bit of threatening and violence in there (examples of ‘you’ll get a damn good beating’ from Dinosaur Adventure and ‘one of these days I’ll beat him up so badly he doesn’t even know who he is’ from Dalmatians 3 come to mind).

    So has it ever been discovered who the voice actors were for the ✌️English✌️dubs? The only thing I’ve always been certain about is that they’re definitely German, since whenever any German names or places are mentioned in the English dubs, their German accents sneak their way in, and pronouncing Wushel as ‘Vushel’, and of course when Pocahontas shouts ‘NEIN!’ as the 3 armed man shoots his gun.

    • @cheepmovprod
      @cheepmovprod Месяц назад +1

      The “NEIN” scream was from the original German version, but yeah the usual two Dingo voices definitely sound German. The old guy and his son from Art Media were Dutch, and they actually dubbed a bunch of bad movies.

    • @andrewshelly211
      @andrewshelly211 Месяц назад +2

      @ I’ve watched the original German version and it’s not the same. The German voice sounds higher in pitch than the “English” voice, play them side by side and you’ll hear the difference. The unenthusiastic Dutch man and his son are hilariously bad as they put little to no effort in their “acting”. The Art Media/EastWest dubs seem to me like they’re done by a whole family of incompetent Dutch folks. The Alladin/Aladin dub has the child and another slightly older sounding teenager (perhaps maybe his brother? They do sound quite alike). Rudy the Reindeer (not by Dingo) has the unenthusiastic man and another man and even a woman (maybe his brother and sister or his wife?)

    • @cheepmovprod
      @cheepmovprod Месяц назад +1

      @ yeah I’ve seen that Red Nose thing, it’s a bit more competent than their other stuff, but somehow a bit worse.

    Wait... I thought the Art Media/EastWest Entertainment dubs were done without Dingo Pictures permission?

    • @DingoPicturesDocumentary
      @DingoPicturesDocumentary  Месяц назад +6

      The rights were handed over without much oversight, leaving Roswitha Haas and Ludwig Ickert with no direct influence on the creative decisions, such as how the dubs were ultimately produced.
      At the time the article was written, they had no idea what lay ahead. As explained in the video, Ludwig Ickert and Roswitha Haas had no direct involvement in the distribution of their films. They were also completely unaware of developments like the PlayStation releases through Phoenix Games, which happened independently of their control.

    • @ExtremeWreck
      @ExtremeWreck Месяц назад +2

      @DingoPicturesDocumentary That's pretty much how it is for franchises like SpongeBob or Sailor Moon. Sometimes involvement from the creators can be limited compared to the rightsholders & the companies whom the rightsholders gave a license to.
