Try to watch Twinkling Watermelon. The MC's parents are both deaf but they still managed to communicate with their kids. Also, the eldest son was born deaf too.

I've watch this drama yesterday andd i love it. It's so heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. I wanna hug them both especially Sakura. It's a beautiful drama but i hope that once about there is a scene that Sakura calls Aoba with his voice but i know it hurt him but how am i suppose to say it?😭

Bruh,some deaf people can't hear there own voice coz deafness somehow impacts the vocal cords..while some can speak fluently when they're deaf and on the other hand some can't coz they can't hear themselves speaking so they eventually refrain from speaking(they're afraid that there voice might sound strange,they might mispronounce the words or they themselves will never know if they're even able to make any sounds that's why some don't even try to speak and some are afraid to do so like SOU SAKURA)and all this DEPENDS ON THE SEVERITY OF THE HEARING LOSS!!

He actually didn't become mute, he just doesn't want to use his voice/ speak to people (except his family) after he lost his hearing

If you have a terminal or a debilitating disease don’t do things like this. It is not fair on the other person. It is almost like a hero complex. I know where he is coming from. But the decision whether she wants to be with him when he was sick and loosing his hearing was not his to make. He could tell her and she could choose either way. I understand the some people may stay when they don’t want to. But that is still their decision. He should only avoid if he too doesn’t want to be with her. He loves her and he thinks that letting her go is happiness? People who don’t get closure will never be happy.
I agree, it is a selfish, cowardly, and indecent way to behave that way towards someone you supposedly "care about" because you can't and won't deal with the situation like a mature and strong person would. It accomplishes nothing, and destroys everything, for no good or discernable reason, at all, without a care in the world or a single thought given to how the other person must feel, and expects the gaps to be filled by that person who they willingly abandoned, and left with nothing, instead of confronting it, and talking it out. All so that they could keep on running, and do absolutely nothing to help the situation, because they're a coward. Both parties are left broken, confused, and lost somewhere, because of one person's selfishness and cowardice. It's an unanswered question that deserves to be answered, but it won't be, all because someone wouldn't take a leap of faith and see what would happen despite the truth of the situation. Really stupid. Unbecoming. Dumb.
TLDR; Yes, Lying and Avoiding is Bad, Honest and Open Communication is Good.

Most deaf people don’t like to talk, especially if they’ve been deaf for a long time like he has. They have no way of knowing if they’re saying the right words (knowing the difference between “d” and “t” is very hard if you can’t hear what you’re saying) or if they’re talking too loud.
@@katherineryba2361 Thank you for this answer, I didn't know about the difficulty between "d" and "t". I think, if I remeber correctly, the drama also explains why he prefers not to speak. The first time I saw an east asian drama in which one the leads is deaf and uses sign laguage.

The one thing I can't understand is why didn't he tell her that he is deaf? I know it is supposed to be a somewhat melancholic moment for them and the moment can carry you away but he is deaf not mute. Can someone explain this to me?
Usually, people who weren't born deaf or those who became deaf at a later stage of their life like Sakura(lost his hearing completely at 23) can still maintain their ability to speech/talking but some become insecure and afraid to speak since they can't hear their own voice and are afraid of mispronouncing words and people not being able to understand, in his case Sakura speaks only with his younger sister as he feels most comfortable with but it's limited to short sentences since he isn't sure about he says , another reason for Sakura to use sign language more is that his only friend Kaho who is also deaf and speech impaired uses only sign language hence after completely losing his hearing he got adapted to using sign language only
But late deafened people can still talk clearly and can easily be understood...why do sign languahe tho

@@meharzabin8421 hearing aid does not give you hearing if you're completely deaf. Hearing aid catches frequencies (aka sound) and the person wearing it can increase the volume of the sound the aid catches. So for a person that hears nothing, hearing aid is useless.

They can. But the boy's devastation that made him break up with her. Knowing you can't hear anything it terrible, you know. Let alone that he couldn't hear her voice anymore. My right ear was injured when I was in kindergarten and it hindered my ability to hear from my right ear. I used to get it clogged fluids because of infection, really painful when doctor made fluid suction. But the pain was nothing compared to the thought of not being able to hear again.

@@NahtsWorld good. I can hear well, but for years I had to go to doctor to get examination. Nowadays it's normal, just a little bit different if I want to hear from one ear. For example if I had to use earphone, the sound coming into my right ear would be different from the left one. Like, how should I say it? Quite muffled.

that happens later but the main reason Sakura-kun broke up with Aoba was because it pained him to not be able to ever hear Aoba's voice again and that he couldn't bear to see Aoba sad about his hearing loss just like how his mom cried and blamed herself and how his younger sister acted tough and learned sign language even before his complete hearing loss happened so that she could communicate with him , Another reason was that he didn't want to become a burden to those around him hence he cut contact with his friends and family except for his younger sister as she always visits him regularly to check up on him.
