    Howdy folks
The song of the week is "Hårgalåten".
    About the song:
Hårgalåten (also known as Horgalåten) is a Swedish folk melody that is often connected to the legend of the Hårga-dance. However, the melody is recorded in more regions than Hälsingland, then under other names. Hambo or Polska is usually danced to the melody, which used to be called the horga dance.
The Hårga-song is one of the most well-known Swedish fiddlesongs and has been recorded numerous times, even in other musical styles than fiddler's music. The song itself is an instrumental, but there are also several lyrics to the melody, most of which are based on the old Hårga-legend.
    About the legend:
The Hårga dance or the Hårga legend is a legend about how the devil himself, disguised as a fiddler, made the young people in the village of Hårga in Hälsingland (Sweden) dance to death. The oldest known record of the legend was made by the commissioner in Bollnäs: Johan Gabriel Lindström in 1785 and is reproduced in JD Flitenberg's collections about Hälsingland.
    Hope Ya'll Will Enjoy!
