As far as I know: 2015 Model MDR 100AAP -Includes a pouch -no Noise Cancelling button (they have some noise cancelling but there's no button and they are not as effective as the 100ABN as far as I'm concerned) -1.2m cable. 2016 Model MDR 100ABN - Includes something similar to a CD Holder instead of pouch. - Bluetooth and NFC - Noise Cancelling button - Volume control * Maybe I'm wrong, but in terms of sound quality I would say they are quite similar, guess there's no difference at all except for the lower impedance. However the MSRP for the MDR100ABN at least in my country, is 300€ when for the 2015 model is 180€, so unless you're interested in a wireless pair of headphones or effective noise cancelling, I would go with the MDR 100AAP
+gogogo The MSR7 is a very mid forward sound signature, so if you're into a lot of vocal focused type music and you don't really care much about bass rumble then it's the headphones for you. the MDR100AAP is more of an all rounder really. I haven't really had long listen to them but I'm planning on getting one soon, so in my brief listening, the bass response is superb with enough rumble to satisfy most bass loving peeps, the mids are nice and is creamy enough for my taste and the trebles are also well presented while not too sibilant. So if you're into a lot of different genres I would recommend the 100AAP more than the MSR7.
the price is a bit to big and the ink from the metallic part is very sensible....require an attention when you transport it, personally i don't use the phone bag and i have some white metalic lines on my steel part, but if you have atention and the price is lower than 150$ i think it worth it..
+Vital Perspectives i am about to buy blue ones, bit trendy and stylish as everybody else wears those black ones and also would buy these over beats solo...
i have a question about this, i found in other site there's and mdr 100A, 100AAP, 100A-L, 100AB. what does that mean? are they different from each other?
+Roland Pada (Lethaldj13) These are the serie numbers for the different colors if I am correct (: I bought these headphones and I really like them! I've had them on for 5 hours and felt no fatigue at all. The only thing is I mailed the form for the cashback action but Sony hasn't responded yet :/
I tried MDR100A yesterday at SONY showroom in Osaka Japan. The price is almost 200 US dollar. And ... I strongly recommend to choice MDR-1A instead of this . It's looks very good. But sounds too dry(strict but something cheap) for music . And much much less comfortable than 1A .
+Sony Europe
Will there be a bluetooth version for these? If not, then I'll get one of these asap, otherwise I might wait for the bluetooth version
Is the sound quality of MDR 100AAP differ from MDR 100ABN regardless of noise cancelling function and wireless feature of the MDR 100ABN?
As far as I know:
2015 Model MDR 100AAP
-Includes a pouch
-no Noise Cancelling button (they have some noise cancelling but there's no button and they are not as effective as the 100ABN as far as I'm concerned)
-1.2m cable.
2016 Model MDR 100ABN
- Includes something similar to a CD Holder instead of pouch.
- Bluetooth and NFC
- Noise Cancelling button
- Volume control

And i'm watching this with my old MDR 1R
How's the hinge of the headphones?
Do they seem like they will cause problems after a year or so? Is the build questionable?
What I did not like about them is that with the movement, they creaked.
I love my new Sony XM5, they're the best!
Greetings from México 🙂
how is their sound compared to Audio Technica MSR7?

I like the design and the color green is awesome! but the sound is better in my mdr10rbt than this!
They don't sound as exciting as they look!
Nice commercial
