FYI : If you're looking to upgrade the CPU of the compaq presario series. You need to have an updated bios or the motherboard won't support the cpu.I had never updated my bios so when I installed a new i5 CPU, my laptop never booted up. I thought maybe i forgot to plug some cable or something but none of the cable were unplugged it was just the motherboard not supporting the new processor. Also to update your BIOS you need to have x64 bit Windows 7 (everything expect for 7 home- new bios update doesn't support 7 home) so if you're using 10 or some other OS then be ready to go back to window 7. Then with the new updated bios, motherboard will take the new processor.

Hi. You are right in some way, but, always, when cpu upgrade is made, is a good and necessary move to upgrade bios before changing cpu.
Also, bios can pe updated from dos, through usb stick or CD disc, not necessarily from Windows. Also, usb stick or CD disc can be made on other pc/laptop.
Also, are many variables at cpu upgrade that can go wrong.
      Anyway, thanks for advices, Mitch.

Do you have a video to just change the CMOS battery? Or any recommend videos.

no; just watch the video, and at 25:32 you will spot the battery; if is too slow for you, the way i'm moving, you can adjust the playback speed, from settings; good luck, Teresa.

@@GaugeClements use something to pry bottom case and palmrest, like a knife, but don't stick too much inside the notebook; and bend the pry tool a little bit, in both direction till those two parts snap free
