Thaaank you James! Had other plans for the evening but will have to heat up the valves of my amp now.
Haha no worries Ralf! Have fun! What amp do you use?
@@BruceGuitar Fender Princeton. The "old Fender Twin..." would not fit into my small basement studio. Cannot even turn it "up to 10" but it still sounds great.
@@ralfsturm9613 ah cool! Can’t go wrong with a decent Fender amp!
Great lesson, but my favorite part was watching how much fun you were having playing the song. Your presence and just being a normal guy who loves Bruce is part of what makes your videos great.
Thanks Scott! I love this song! Stay tuned for lots more :) :)
Have you ever covered an acoustic lesson of The Rising? It’s such a beautiful version from Bruce on Broadway
Hi Dan. Yes I did a lesson on that Rising Broadway version a few months back. Here’s the link. Enjoy! ruclips.net/video/--E1Dn_L4eU/видео.html
@@BruceGuitar OMG thanks for this link!! I was so bummed that SNL and Springsteen took the live performance down. Been looking everywhere for this!!!!! Amen.
@@cb10telecaster no problem! Enjoy!!!
Hey James , another great Bruce song is Reno . He paints a picture of two desperate people like a Picasso painting lol have you done a lesson on that one ?
Hi Dan. Yes that’s a great song. Not yet! Requests are made via the Bruce Legend tiers on the Subscribestar page if you wanted to request for the future www.Subscribestar.com/brucespringsteenguitar . Stay tuned for lots more Bruce!
Nice lesson
Thanks Dave 🙏
@@BruceGuitar Where did you find the live performance of this tune, I can’t find it on RUclips?
@@DaveAllum If you type in Ghosts Saturday Night Live you should be able to find it!
@@DaveAllum Actually think it may have been on Vimeo rather than RUclips!
@@BruceGuitar cool, cheers. I’ll keep looking.
Such a life affirming song ! Fascinating how Bruce mixes open tunings and standard voicings for the thick sound
Yes for sure Alan. I couldn’t work it out at first. Thank god for the SNL performance as made it a lot easier!
@@BruceGuitar
I’ve learnt capo2 capo 4 and open E capo 2 now. Can’t find Bruce live version but thanks so much.
@@alantracy6757 Here's the link to the SNL performance. No problem, have fun! vimeo.com/490320101
Its interesting how Bruce and Patti are capo 4 but Steven is in the open tuning and Niels in capo 2
Question: is there a particular set of pickups that gets pretty close to Bruce’s sound? Thanks!
Hi blakesterBCS! Thanks for tuning into the channel. Funnily enough I ordered a set of Joe Barden Gatton T-Style pickups that I think Bruce uses. Haven’t installed them yet but looking forward to using them! At the moment I just play around with plug-ins in Logic Pro x. A nice valve fender amp would help as well.
@@BruceGuitar Awesome! I’ll end up upgrading the ol’ Tele with a pair of pickups like that. Love the videos!
@@blakeleesutton no problem!!
@@BruceGuitar if I'm not wrong, he used for a long time old Tele pickups overwound by Petillo and then he used the quarter pound Tele by Seymour Duncan before switching to jbe. Is my info incorrect?
@@heavy_marc_games Yes i think he has only been using JBE recently, not sure for how long though!
I seem to be stuck . How did you get so good ? Scales ? Learning the fret board or just God givin talent?
Yes a lot of practice Dan! Really helps to know the fretboard, basic music theory (keys etc), chords in different positions, scales etc. Check out my other channel as I’m doing 10 part series on there. Here’s the link, thanks, James ruclips.net/user/jsmusicschool
great job, this has to be my favorite song hes put out in recent years
100% agree there! Hopefully get to see it live next week In Birmingham!
@@BruceGuitar nice, I saw him in Portland at the very end of February and I’m going to set him again in San Francisco
@@awes0men0b0dy9 Nice! San Fran is definitely on my list of places to go in the US!
Great song ! I’ll never play it as good as you but I won’t stop trying!
Yes love this one Dan! Thanks for the kind words. Yes perseverance is key!
I watched your acoustic lesson on The Rising. You are really gifted ❤️
Thanks Dan 🙏
Great lesson, as always! Any chance "Leah" from D&D is somewhere in the queue...?
HI Frank. Thanks for the kind words. All requests are done via the Bruce Legend tiers on the Subscribestar page www.subscribestar.com/brucespringsteenguitar .Stay tuned for lots more Bruce!
Leah is in CGDGBD tuning capo 3 I believe = Bb
