Don't know why it took him so long to 'make it big'. Lucky enough to work with him several times in clubs and always brilliant. Genuinely chuffed he now has the audience he deserves.
The first time I saw or even heard of him was this show. My mate got us tickets and they filmed two episodes that night. He was better than all the other comedian's put together that night
I've always liked Gervais and im a huge fan of most of his stuff, right from his days at XFM. But his recent stuff - from his last series of Afterlife to his standup, is achingly dull. So utterly riddled with the same yawn inducing tropes and exhausting self deprecation. His last film, Special Correspondents, was so dreadful and trite I turned it off after 20 minutes. He's run out of material and it shows, badly. Mickey's brand of humour will always have lasting appeal PRECISELY because it's "edge" is working class comedy. Look how insanely popular Peter Kay still is, after a decade of total silence in standup. All comedy is subjective, but to suggest Mick doesnt "know much" is wild. Not to mention hugely insulting. You have no idea.
Lmfao. I've always like micky and loved seeing him each time. He is so funny and down to earth. When he is on interviews he always makes me pee myself laughing with the dead pan face and then when he naturally laughs. Ricky Gervais is 100% Golden and a very smart guy. As for the invalids who think they know more than him. He's words would be .. ohh I'll just top the fuel up in my airplane hahahhahaha. No point mentioning Peter Kay. He is one of the godfathers of comedy. Anyway back to Micky, I FINK he's amazing 😂😂😂❤❤
One of the funniest men on the planet - a proper old-school comedian, who isn't afraid to say it as it really is! There aren't many comedians these days who reduce me to tears of laughter. 🤣
Have to admit to taking my girlfriend out in the 80s for a steak dinner and we had prawn cocktail starters with some brown bread! Still not a bad dinner eh! 🥴👀
Mickey Flanagan is the funniest comedian in ages. Has me laughing until I"m in tears. True comedian. I'm in love with this man Dragon, This Is What I Call Music 2.
You could tell he was still quite new by the way the crowd received him. By the end they were putty in his hands - one of the performances that took him to stardom
I remember a story me dad told me that he took me maa both out for a steak meal and they started with a prawn cocktail and she didn't know what it was 🤣
I’ve had similar situations many times where I’ve been in the front room and someone puts on a random tv show you ignore the tv for a while then you catch glimpses they go out of the room and I’m glued 😂. And think I love this show 🤦♂️ then get called out yet you want to know what happens in the end 😂
These days one of a few thing that are pure wealth transfer if you hit it big... From working to top tier middle class, he's changed his childrens prospects and future for generations 👍🏼
I actually made an Ashtray back in the late 70s at school ,i was chuffed as fu*k with the finish but it didn't actually sit on a table flush 🤣Mickey has made his money and he wont be touring again i feel ,but id be happy with a new DVD from his local with just his friends and Micky getting slowly piss*d and me eavesdropping 😁

Never get tired of his jokes, he truly is the Londoner's comedian
Na everybody’s
@@jeffstevens763 this
That suggests his appeal is limited. It isn’t. His observations are universal, filtered through a uniquely English prism.
"Oh hear comes Toby, it's all going off now!" 😂
From my era. He's got it off to a"T". Growing up in working class London in the 80s, great days 🤣

Every set of his is fantastic! Greetings from 🇺🇸.
Definitely one of the greatest comedians I've been fortunate to have seen several times live. Relatable topics delivered by a comedy genius.

Making me hungry. Had to have a little segment of lemon, lettuce, bit of chopped tomato and this pink powdery stuff on top, whatever that was.
Yo! You ain’t been out for a Good Meal without Some Prawn Cocktails - it’s Posh Fish
Great dinner!
Oh yes the brown bread....so exotic!

BETHNAL Green, distributed fish, worked as a carpenter, attracted many thousands of people to listen to him speak
He’s a great guy Micky Flanagan
A proper comedian and way ahead of the pathetic offerings of todays so called bunch of triers. His takes on life are brilliant and so true.
When he said ‘graphic equaliser’ with such relish, I almost soiled myself! Had a graphic equaliser myself. always a magnet for crumpit
