      I've seen this happen exactly two times. The other one happens to have been recorded already:

      Before this attempt, he did manage to ruin an even better attempt. Nothing else landed a hit, and the family was in MUCH better shape (1/3 HP remaining, which is better than being at death's door).

      Same as CotG8. Also, if I had jobbed to Ares 2 of all things, the amount of shame would have been unreal.

      I see. Never seen this happen myself. At least it's not an emulator thing (think we can safely say at this point that any oddity I may find can be replicated on consoles).

      Oh, don't worry. In the same attempt, I jumped to the platform, and smashed him to pieces before the fight ended (as I usually do in other vids).
      Note: Being serious for a moment, if willing to use magic, I guess AoH would have helped to reduce the risk of losing in such a scenario.

      Zig demonstrated it somewhat recently (by accident, of course). I was wondering how he survived the fight in NUR+ when jobbing so badly to Hammertime. This answered my question (also had luck in another spot before reaching dizzy for that attempt).

      Probably not, no.
      NOTE: Also, his OG copy of PS2 seemed to also have the issue in Hades with certain foes not giving it up to petrification (no orbs or descriptor). Apparently that was always a thing (not even a fault of the port).

      Once upon a time, surely. I imagine the gent would have had a go. Perhaps he might choose a "T"? Pooh bear in CCP land might appreciate that. And you? Got one in mind?

      Could be. Having less targets left, it is more likely to pick him, too. Repeatedly (respawns accounted for), even. Wouldn't buy much time (maybe not even 10s), but that still hits fast forward on the clone clearing (and could make the difference between victory and failure without hugging it out with the missuses and the little lady).

      Saw it now. Interesting. Looks like Ares cancels Hammertime by blocking. If only you could force him to do this during Flamethrower.

      Recently tested it. The souls go back and forth (once they're done with Agony, they focus on Remorse/Regret, and vice versa), which extends their duration on the field by a bit.
