      Honestly…Max, and the rest of you…y’all need to rest with ‘8k video’ thing.
      What exactly are you planning to do with it? Honestly.
      Do you know how that if Apple gave the 14 Pro 4k 120fps, it’ll will:
      1. Be the first phone to do that
      2. It will literally bring revival to show motion again.
      I can see cinematographers use 4k 120 as opposed to 8k.
      I mean to achieve 8k on that device, don’t you think there will have to be a lot of computing and manipulations by the processor and cameras to make it possible? Do you like how they have to compensate for raw output with so much computing being the scenes?
      8k video…seriously…
      Look, RED cinema cameras have 8k, yet, Arri Alexa’s are still dominating Hollywood. Why? Because of reliability and quality.
      Anyways. All I’m saying is 8k on a phone right now will be pushing it, and when you push it that far, a lot of computing wizardry will have to compensate for most of the way.
      Which is fine, because most of the things on mobile is heavily manipulated by software, but I tell you, you put 8k in a phone, it’s pushing it too far.
      Of course the 48mp actually captures photos at a resolution higher than 8k at 8064 x 6084 but I tell you, it’ll be pushing it for video
      I was personally hoping apple would add in some more RAW like video modes this year, maybe more flavors for ProRess, but they didn’t.
      Oh well.

    • @bobbydrake8965
      @bobbydrake8965 Год назад

      Yes you want to have the best resolution possible, but look at what Samsung and the competition is doing with 8k-yet we prefer the 4k footage of the ‘measly’ 12mp of the iPhone.
      Now I know we’re going when Apple does it, they’re Applify the whole thing and make it work better than the competition, but think about this…If they don’t mature and improve on the resolutions they already have; adding and improving in it, would you want them to ignore it and move to new pursue new resolutions? And then they’ll add more problems to fix with their catalog.
      What do you think?

      @toneyclayton485 Год назад +2

      Someone mentioned (a reviewer) that the 13 pro max they had lasted into the beginning of the 3rd day..with the same battery. Hopefully Apple will give an update to improve this but I feel the same processor (overclocked and rebranded) is doing more and thus burning more battery. But I can't use a phone for more than a day without "recharging" myself. So as I recharge, it can do the same. So either way, if it lasts you thru an entire day, it's not too bad. ..just don't forget your charger. Maybe Apple will come up with a "low power" mode that scales everything down if the phone is not touched for 5 min or more. It seems aggressive but not every Ferrari needs to go fast...all the time.

    These don’t seem like huge issues, and the battery life can be greatly improved by turning always on display off, and auto brightness. I mean it’s not much less convenient tapping the display to wake it to see notifications. If anything Apple could put out a software update to dim the always on display more.

    What I think is annoying with the iPhone 14 Pro Series is the Pill-Shaped Cutout. It has nothing to do with the Dynamic Island feature. The Pill-Shaped Cutout is hiding on-screen content much more than the previous Notch, especially when using full screen viewwing (games, videos) because it is going much lower in the display.

I carry two phones one for work and this year upgraded to 14 Pro and Pro Max. My Max not having some of issues you mentioned and I have to say even with some small issues I and having believe the 14 Pro Max is absolutely best iPhone I have ever had. At first believed I was stupid for upgrading but now glad I did. My 14 Pro I use for work and also have Public Beta on it. Honestly, I don't think those are huge problems, at least not for me.
    I've been living with my iPhone 6s for the past years and I finally decided to upgrade to an iPhone 14 Pro, 256 GB storage.
    I think it's a huge improvement and there is not a single thing that will make me want to go back to my iPhone 6s with 77% maximum battery capacity, I'm almost certain.
    Also I'm really happy that I keep the physical SIM tray since I live outside the US, that was one of my main concerns when waiting for the iPhone 14 to release and I did have a slight shock when I heard that the iPhone 14 will be eSIM only, but thank god it only counts for the US.
    All in all I'm looking forward to it, can't wait to actually use it.

But with Verizon, I had a bar or two, depending where I was in the house, but now get SOS in the basement frequently. I’m not sure if I want to reset network settings, if that’ll help. Lightning or USB-C doesn't make any difference until Apple revamp their way of transferring things on something other than a Mac in which they don't really show any care about. If indeed I do get a 14, I’ll definitely get the Pro Max, even if only just for the larger battery. I personally expect I’ll turn off the always-on display, since I keep it in my pocket.
    If I had to choose one or the other, I personally would take 48Kpix JPEG stills over 8K video any day.

      The always on display will actually turn itself off when it detects it's in a pocket (or is placed face down on a table) thanks to the proximity sensor. So manually turning off the always on display feature may actually benefit you less (obviously it will still help) vs people who like to keep their phone face up on a table all day. So it could be worth it for you to keep the feature turned on for those moments when your phone is not in you pocket :)

      @@pkennethv, I have indeed heard that it will automatically shut off if it’s in your pocket. However, I personally would probably still turn it off since I’d pretty much never use it, and since I’m not confident that the proximity sensor will read correctly with the screen facing out in my shirt pocket.

    What's the logic behind downloading an app that compresses the 48mp raw file to a smaller size (i.e. removing information)? It defeats the purpose of a raw file in the fist place.

    • @MaxTechOfficial
      @MaxTechOfficial  Год назад +5

      Here is the logic. Any Pro photographer (which is used to make a living off of photography and shot over 150 weddings & countless other shoots) will take an image in RAW and then once its edited convert to Jpeg and deliver those files, we would never deliver RAW files for long-term storage. RAW files give you more flexibility for editing but you don't need them once you like how the image looks, and if you're not going to edit most of the time the image looks worst than a properly compressed jpeg. Apple's image processing is way more advanced than a jpeg from a modern mirrorless camera so most of the time I don't need to edit, or if I do I make very slight adjustments where I don't even need raw. With that, HEIC/HEIF files are also 10-bit, which gives you WAY more flexibility to edit compared to jpeg files so most of the time you don't need RAW. I think it's great that they give us ProRAW, but for most common people (and even myself) for most of my photos I don't need RAW but I would love to actually get the benefits of those 48MP files for regular shots while maintaining a small file size. We should have the option to shoot 48MP HEIC's just like we have the option to choose between 1080P/4K video resolutions. This would be like Apple forcing you to shoot massive ProRES files if you want to ever shoot 4K video.

Could you kindly help us find out if this capability extends to the iPad Air 4th Gen which has the A14 Bionic? And with 256 GB it’s capable of memory swap so theoretically should be fully capable of running this. I’d love to see that this will be brought to the iPad Air as it’s still quite new.

      Apple has allowed the older iPad Pros to use a stripped-down version of Stage Manager. It is def not what the M1 iPads have. All sensible people pointed out that Apple could easily do a "Lite" version, which is what they have done. But you are pushing it to say the older iPad Pros can do what the M1 iPads can, and you would be absolutely wrong.
      For the record, the older iPads can only run four apps in the foreground, and the M1 can run eight. Also, the older iPads cannot run a secondary monitor.

    I don’t see brightness as a problem at all. It’s never too bright, and I’ve never confused the AOD for the phone being on. At night, it’s not remotely bright enough to keep me awake. If anything, my frustration comes from the AOD turning itself off for no reason. Even if I’m still near the phone and the lights are on, sometimes the AOD just shuts off completely. There’s no particular reason I can think of for it to do that. Though I’m not certain, I think the phone biases towards turning off AOD if the phone is on a charger.

    • @mikldude9376
      @mikldude9376 Год назад +1

      it may not be a problem for you , but if you don’t need it that bright , it’s sucking away your battery life needlessly , and if the pixels are eye searing bright , I would be a tad worried about screen burn in mate.
      I’m sure eventually apple will refine this , but from what I have seen , this apple AOD is a bit unrefined compared to androids versions even if it may have some different capabilities.
      The same goes for general use of the display brightness , it may be enticing for people to use all that eye searing screen brightness , but the screen uses a lot of power , so if you can use only what you need , the better off your battery life will be and the longer your display will last without problems .

    • @techinrl9869
      @techinrl9869 Год назад +1

      @@mikldude9376 The point is that it isn’t eye-searing bright. I find it rather dim. The AOD’s main problem is that it won’t stay on when it should, not that it’s too bright. The AOD’s brightness is no where near screen brightness unless you have your phone at 5% brightness at all times in which case there probably isn’t any difference because it’s practically off already.
      I end my day with about 70-80% battery life, so no problems there.

But hardly anyone buys those, except fools like me, who has a Samsung 8K TV. I have a Samsung phone and an iPhone but have never actually taken a video in 8K. If Apple had any devices that could output 8K, I’m sure they’d add the feature, but not even the Apple TV’s support 8K… yet. When they do, 8K video will debut on the iPhone.
