I think the slouching is the point with this design. A lot of people seem to prefer to bag stiff so no wonder they changed the way they construct the bag. Since without the slouching effects, there is no point spending that much money on putting together the bag from so many pieces of leather. Just the pretence of it is enough, and that is what they ultimately did with the “edge”.
I had my puzzle bag in tan for almost 2 years and it has no scratches and I don’t baby the bag. This is my most used bag! I love the slouch of the bag! That’s the main reason why I bought this bag. I use it raining and sunny days and haven’t had any issues!!! I use a lot of hand sanitizer and I haven’t had any issues with the leather being dry!! Too much thinking to enjoying a bag!!! I just enjoy it!!! I don’t think this bag is delicate at all! Love it!! One of my favorites

I love that you’re so careful and caring of what is a very pricey bag that’s exquisitely crafted of exceptional leather. I almost bought this version, but ended up with the same bag as yours, but in Caramel in the Grained Leather, and it requires absolutely no babying. Mine was pre-loved, and judging by the softness of its long strap, it’s been well carried, but next-to-no-marks at all. I compared the leather of my pre-loved one to a new one I bought in Medium and there is truly no difference in both. In saying that, I have to say I adore the beauty of the smooth Calf leather of your bag, which looks incredible once it takes on all the marks of its being well-used. A little professional leather oil-rub now and then (make sure it doesn’t affect the colour of your bag by testing it on a covered part of the long strap first) will ensure it remains looking as smooth as ever for longer. Whereas almost all Grained leather Puzzles look the same after a few years of use - regardless of what their owners do to their bags, no two smooth Calf leather Puzzles ever look the same - and that’s due to the uniqueness of their leather as their various owners carry them.

@@imlena4001 you’re very welcome! It’s an expensive bag, but one that will give you decades of enjoyable use. The rub I use is from RM Williams - a clear one that goes on easily. I wipe it on in a very thin layer with a disposable leather glove, then wipe off quickly with a paper towel after a minute or so. But, check it in a small and unseen corner of leather first, in case it darkens the leather. There’s also a Beeswax based rib that will waterproof your bag, but this one is really hard to apply and wipe off, and leaves a residue (which is what makes it waterproof). I don’t think you need to waterproof the bag, as Loewe would have already treated the original leather at the leather tanning stage to make the leather as durable as possible. There is Collonil Carbon Pro Spray, which is brilliant on all leathers. Easy to apply, you respect every couple of years. It leaves absolutely no residue and will not change your leather colour - not even suede (I’ve used it on my Loewe suede, and the water literally rolls off it). It’s more pricey than other sprays, but it’s the best I’ve used. And I like to spray protect all my leather bags and shoes with Collonil Carbon Pro.
I have the same bag. I’ve had it for over a year with no issues. The concerns you have with the interior are relevant to any designer bag with light interior but a bag liner will help mitigate those issues so don’t worry so much. A thicker one will also help retain the structure (I am thinking about getting a thinner one as I actually like the slouchy, boho look it’s supposed to take on. It’s kind of like the LV patina). The exterior leather is super durable in my experience. A lot more durable than my grained-leather Celine. I can’t really speak to the opening as I have really small hands so it does not bother me. In other words, enjoy the bag and don’t worry too much about it. It is a solidly made bag. And keep in mind, that you can always send the bag to your nearest Loewe store for cleaning and repairs.

I have one in smooth, one in grained and one in Satin calf leather. Smooth and grained are totally carefree. Really no need to baby it, that is probably overthinking. Only the newer Satin calf one is more prone to scratches, but which buff out with use. The slouch if course is depending on your taste. The grained one will slouch more than the other. But if you don‘t like the slouch the insert you are planning to use will help keeping its shape. About the handles or also the whole leather parts: if you are afraid of spots/dirt protect it with Collonil Nanospray Carbon Pro. I use it on all my bags. It even protects the light Louis Vuitton vachetta up to the point that rain just drops off the surface without staining it. Very good. And as others already mentioned it does not alter the color or texture on the leather. I tried it on all kinds of leather already. You just have to freshen it up now and then. I also carry water/coffee bottles and food in my puzzle, however only in the medium one because I seriously think the small one is just too small for daily work and just for leisure time. But probably depends on what you work… Enjoy your bag! It is beautiful and sturdy at the same time and looks fabulous on you! ❤
Hello im contemplating if i should get the satin calfskin. Hmm how is it holding up until now? Im too worry it's easy to scratch because it looks smooth online (i can only buy it online).
I used to own this exact bag and wore it without reservations. When I sold it after two years of use, it was in immaculate condition. Don’t be too precious with it. It’s a very durable bag. My one year old (at the time) scratched it, chewed on the strap and it was fine. As far as protecting the interior I used a pouch for my keys and a pouch for my lipliner & gloss. You could have a silk liner made if that is something you’re worried about.

Oh, stop! This exact bag broke my fall on concrete and came out only slightly less pristine than its original condition. Some of the scuffs rubbed out with my fingertips, the others diminished over time. If you want to treat it like a delicate flower, that’s your choice, not what the bag dictates. Many who own this bag will attest to its durability as I just have.

Try not to worry about the bag and just enjoy it. I have the exact same bag and don’t find it too delicate. Although I do rotate my bags and use a thin liner due to the light interior and to maintain a little structure while still having a little slouch x
I've just purchased the large in puzzle bag. The first thing I did was to purchase protector sprays for both the inside and the outside of the bag. Mulberry Carbon lite of the leather and Handbag Clinic care and repair kit for the inside.

I was so obsessed with the small puzzle but also found that I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would when I finally got it. Even though it’s still a beautiful beautiful bag, I can’t shake this underwhelmed feeling, which is a real shame for me since this is very expensive for my budget.
Honestly, there aren’t specific things I dislike. The top flap also annoys me a little and the strap isn’t the best. But I think the main disappointment is that I don’t think this bag looks as good when it’s actually on me. I still think it’s beautiful, unique, and great quality. But when I wear it, it just ended up not being everything I thought it would, which is unfortunate.
Is this zipper so small like is it hard to put stuffs inside? May i ask the measurement of the zipper since i wonder if its easy to put my stuffs inside. Thank you
Spray with colonill pro carbon ,I used it in my own loewe and Fendi bags, pro carbon protects from snow, water and dirt , if you are afraid of stains and the handle cilonill pro carbon is your best friend
This is the small size. I think both are great color choices! Taupe wasn’t available when I got mine but I think I would have picked up taupe if it was available. It’s a more neutral color.
Maybe sell the one you have and buy the grained leather instead, the one with gold hardware. I think that would do better with wear and tear. Haha. Coz the puzzle bags with silver hardware has the smooth leather so yea as u said more precious.
