Its funny, ive been watching and rewatching all your videos because I was nervous to take the first step to my garden. This video was perfect timing because it reiterated your previous points and added in some new food for thought
I’m adding more raised beds in the coming months. I find that by using kitchen and garden scraps provides my worms enough for them to make a constant supply of vermicompost. I use liquid fertilizer from comfrey and other “weeds” to provide additional nutrients
@@GrowingInTheGarden questions. I'm buying the garden grid you recommend. I'm new to tryna figure out. If my bed is 4x4. Or I can change length. Etc. How do I know which grid is right for my purpose and does everything come with
Our gardens been raided by ants, any ideas for how to get rid of them? We’ve tried boiling water on the hills but they keep moving around and eating our veggies!
You can get the soil recipe here: growinginthegarden.com/best-soil-for-raised-bed-vegetable-gardening/ Basically 1/3 Compost, Perlite or Vermiculite, and Coconut Coir.
I use an online test you buy from Amazon and then send in your results. It works great and is so simple. This is the one I use and love: amzn.to/3E09ftu
If I were you I’d Try to collect as much rain water as possible with Hurricane Hilary/Tropical Storm headed your way this weekend. Stay safe. Make sure to turn off electricity/gas at the main and protect the exterior of your home from any potential flooding. Get sandbags for at least 3feet height as the desert southwest all are expected to get 3 inches of rain in 24 hours which means 3+ feet of water (I.e. flash flooding, boulders coming loose, wash outs, etc). Pack bags in case of evacuation orders and make sure to pack essentials (medication, water, clothing, food, Id cards, flashlight, charge all your devices, important documents, cash on hand in case power is out for a few days at stores and you need to stock up on food again).

You've got this! Start small, choose a veggie and herb and a flower. You can do it!
Thank you Sister Angela 😊❤💕💕

When is the best time of year to do a soil test,I'm in zone 5 Iowa.
Usually in the fall so you can amend as needed or in the spring before planting.

You can try these baits: amzn.to/47IVUU7 if the ants are problematic
Diatomaceous earth works well and they don’t like cinnamon
Will you put the list what you used

I am in southern Las Vegas and I’m wondering where I can go to get my soil tested? I am having a hard time finding a place.
I think you can purchase a soil test kit online from a reputable lab near you. It may take a few weeks to get the results back.

Look up your local agricultural extension agency. Also fond the master gardeners in your city
Do you mix the worm castings in or just sprinkle them on top?
I sprinkle them on top and then spray them in with water.
What are worm castings exactly ✌️🤔🤔🤔@@GrowingInTheGarden
@@ElvisAaronpresleybyRustyMartin it’s worm poop.
