I've watched the performances of Tribu Panayanon and Tribu Salugnon under the curiosity as to what made the former stand out over the latter and the rest of these marvelous contenders on RUclips quite a few times, and I've jumped to a conclusion that Tribu Panayanon simply brought back the traditional essence and concept of Dinagyang Festival, less props and more merry-making. Additionally, their performance was simply appealing to the eyes, not pretty congested with more than enough gimmicks. I'd say the highlight of the entire performance was when this ancient-civilization boat showed up with these dancers moving rhythmically to the beat of the drums. It was startlingly impressive. Even so, I personally perceive that all of these tribes did an amazing job, and merely watching the 50th Dinagyang Festival is enough reason for taking pride in being an Ilongo. Hala Bira Iloilo! Viva Sr. Sto. Nino! Viva Viva!
same observation here, other tribes were full of destructive props and costumes and some too crowded performers...( well some are irrelevant in the performance, just saying )....

Im obsessed with dinagyang that i want to watch them win again in aliwan this year. But I have to say that this doesnt seem to live up the standard set by the past tribes. The interpretation is there, but the energy is so scarce. It should have been the fundamental element of dinagyang. Im scared that they're likely to be overshadowed by other festivals. I hope they're already doing something to fix it. Looking forward their final performance.

Sa aliwan walang limit kasi pa bonggahan. Kung na alala mo po. Last 2016 at 2017 natalo ang tribe na to dahil na disqualify sa mga props. Kaya this 2018 less props sila at focus sa choreography. Watch out po ang performance nila sa Aliwan.

At yan ang essence ng Dinagyang street dance. Kaya Nga street dance ang tawag eh. At sa limang judging area po sila nag peperform. iniikot ang buong downtown area sa city.. Wala pong stage ang dinagyang kung may stage yun wala ng essence ang dinagyang. Pinipreserve po talaga kasi ang tunay na kultura ng mga aeta sa panay island. Jelmar Delagao makakita lang kang fault? Of course there are lapses in synchronization, pero ang overall performance ang nagdala. Hindi kasi pang field demo na synchronization ang labanan like other festivals. Hahaha!

Sa freedom grandstand po yan. Search n lng po sa google. Nasa baba po ako when i took the vid. So hindi kita ang mga formations. 🙂
