I love En Vogue since day one. I really hope that one of these days Dawn and Max could come back and record an album with all five members together. It would mean the world to a lot of us die hard fans.
And I'm loving these podcasts, getting insight on never before heard details is super! Keep them coming ladies!

Finally! Dawn and Max are acknowledged. Although it was not explicitly said, their contributions on Funky Divas really catapulted the group to the next level during that time. I agree with Frank's sentiment that all of the ladies performing together is magic. EV5 would be a magical thing.

Of course max sung most of the lead on that album and most of their hits . I think the first album dawn sung a lot .

Max only sang lead on two songs from Funky Divas and she had a small part towards the end of Lies which featured all of the members singing lead. So no, Max has not sang lead on most of their hits. That is an outright lie. Dawn sang more than Max on their debut, but not more than Terry and Cindy. Only Terry and Cindy had their songs released during the Born To Sing era. Frank Gatson confirmed it in this very episode when he noted that the producers focused on the current original members more on that project. You Max and Dawn fans stay trying to overinflate their contributions to En Vogue's success all the while downplaying the two members who made the group famous- Terry and Cindy.

@@derrickhobbs6463 The initial post in this thread references the Funky Divas album and you said that Maxine sang lead on most of the Funky Divas album and that is a LIE. She sang lead on "My Loving..." and "Give It Up, Turn It Loose". "Hip Hop Lover" as well as "Free Your Mind" are shared lead songs. You can't count a shared lead song which features all of the ladies as a lead vocal for Max and discount it for the other members. The other members sang lead on the the rest of the album, so your LIE and/or ignorance is exposed, which is why you're cursing and acting like a child.
I was also referring to the songs that were released as singles and charted. You said in your initial reply that Max sang lead on most of their "hits". Part Of Me was not released as a single and it featured all 4 members. Lies was released as a single, featured all four members and most importantly went #1, which constitutes a hit. Strange was not released as a single and neither was Time Goes On which featured Terry on the bridge, not Dawn. Max didn't sing lead on "Hold On", "You Don't Have To Worry", "Just Can't Stay Away", "Don't Go", "Luv Lines" or "Waiting on You", which makes your statement of saying she sang leads the most a boldface LIE.
And no one was talking about Masterpiece Theatre. You LIED and said that Max sang lead on most of their hits and the Funky Divas album and that is 100% false. Then you say that Cindy has a ballad voice when she sang lead on two #1 uptempo songs on their first album?! Again, what on earth are you talking about? Furthermore "Free Your Mind" is not En Vogue's biggest hit, it's "Don't Let Go" followed by "Hold On". Stop lying and misinforming people who aren't familiar with En Vogue's history.

Even though I Love Rhona! When I think of an En Vogue Reunion I think of the original 4. When Dawn did a interview she explained that one reason she didn't come back is because she wanted to reunite with the ladies she started out with ONLY! And I don't blame her even if it was just a couple of shows it should be just the 4 of them for their anniversary
So…you feel Terry and Cindy should ask Rhona to stop performing with them (again) after she has spent the better part of 20 years recording and performing with EV to accommodate someone who repeatedly leaves them in the lurch and has spent years badmouthing them? I don’t think it's reasonable to expect Rho - whose talent and commitment has helped keep this brand alive and evolving with style - to do that. A more reasonable approach might be to structure the set so that on a tour with 5, you do some songs with the OG4, some with the 2 different iterations of EV3, and some big impact numbers with EV5. Because of EV’s 7 albums, there are 4 (in many ways, 5) that Dawn's not on. There are also 3 Max isn't on. All that said, I'd only want an EV5 tour/reunion if it was healthy for everyone, and at the moment my understanding is Dawn doesn't talk to any of the other 3.
Awesome ladies, I would love to see them all 5 again together at least to do a single.

A perspective is akin to an opinion. Saying that a particular member is the better singer, dancer or writer is an opinion/perspective...that is up for debate. Saying that a certain member has sang lead on more songs than any other member of the group when they have not is false and I countered that with facts, which sent you completely over the edge. You have issues and this channel has become a platform for you to display your mental instability.

I really wish En Vogue would charge for this podcast. That would separate the real fans from the annoying people who just post grievances and try to find fault in the most innocent things the ladies say.
Kim Bowen styled the "Free Your Mind" video. Frank knows his stuff. However, Nine Inch Nail's "Closer" came out in 1994, a good amount of time after "Free Your Mind". I would love to see the "Free Your Mind" director's cut.

You don't need to compete. You ladies are beautiful in your own right. Women need to be themselves and not try to look like some fantasy woman. As for makeup, less is more. IMO, all I like to see on a woman is lipstick and your eyes done. Don't need foundation, don't need rouge, and you don't need to cover up your freckles if you have them. Love your powerful and rich voices. You ladies were sexy without being trashy. I still watch your Free Yourself video... such a powerful and needed message and I enjoy watching you ladies strutting up and down the catwalk.

I post that on all of their videos. Someone here posted that Cindy prefers to have the money divided between 3 ladies instead of 5. If the original members got back together and did things the RIGHT way, money wouldnt even be an issue. It would be raining money, especially if they would stick together and Dawn would stop flitting in and out.

I think a reunion would be a win-win for all! I just want all parties involved to be compensated fairly for their respective contributions.

When color people were not allowed to see the color enter entertainers perform where white people could see them and yet are many a white folks with sneak down to places like the Apollo or the Howard Theater or the Royal theater to see the black entertainers and nothing was done to them. I know what I'm talking about the 60s
