My first memory of garlic is walking into my grandmothers and smelling it really strongly. I spoke right up and was even a bit bossy about wanting to know what I was smelling. It made my legs feel odd. Anyone ever hear of that happening? A very powerful memory. I think I was 5. It's why I am watching this in a playlist I put together on garlic. ✌
This sound like a fetish origin story
I feel good after watching this, seeing clear evidence that I'm not the only garlic-obsessed person in the world.
Hell no mate I adore the stuff you're in excellent company.
Can you believe this aired almost 40 years ago?
I keep thinking the 1980s was only 20 years ago...
I like to chew cloves of garlic. Its addictive it burns so good
I’ve become addicted to roasted garlic. Just taking the whole bulb, chopping about 1/4 once of the top off to expose the cloves, brush on olive oil and season with sea salt and fresh ground black pepper. Then wrap in aluminum foil and pop in the toaster oven. It’s amazing.
garlic is the best
Very recommendable! Planning on a pilgrimage to the Garlic Festival in Gilroy, California
@Adrian Heath I take this as an encouragement to visit this Garlic Festival :-)
I'll have to remember that "garlic gods" prayer!!
The chef took two bites of that desert and almost angrily stuck his spoon in it and put it down. lol I don't think he liked it.
It clearly didn't have enough garlic for him. Totally justified
InstaBlaster
I chew on cloves of garlic. I hate people being near to me or talking to me so its works out pretty well. I also smoke. I just want to be left alone
In Britain we too have a Garlic festival on the Isle of Wight, it gets bigger each year everything including food stalls some of which serve garlic ice cream.
The garlic enthusiast people were WEIRD! I mean I love garlic but there's definitely such a thing as too much of it.
Yeah I’m with u man
I agree with you
They were the insufferable hipsters of their time.
Gilroy south of San Francisco is the Garlic capital of California
When people used to eat normal food now it’s fries and burger
A crying shame the Garlic Festival is sadly no more.
i'd like to challenge him for that turban. I'm a garlic fiend. love it roasted, in foods, pickled, on my popcorn, hell i'll even eat it raw, with nothing. though yes i smell horrid after a binge.
Do you also like to chew on the raw cloves? Someone else understands! It burns so good! Discovered it using garlic to treat a sore throat.
I wonder if that restaurant is still around. Probably not.
mcgibs it is! Beverly Hills
5:23 guess you could say that garlic... makes loving fun
Great video, i enjoy watching videos about foods & spices.

Yum!
This is kinda strange
DAFUQ is Bluto doing rollin' on up? 02.11
This is the only episode of this series I don't like.
It is informative therefore it is great
How can so few eat so much?
These garlic cult people come off as very weird.
What do you expect from Californicators? They are STILL superficial idiots.
Wanna be's....in the 80's. That guy in the red jacket.....doesn't know what he's talking about, and won't shut up.
Wtf you say,,?,,????
yeah its self-asorbed bullshit. the wine scene made me cringe. The Art of "Sommelier" is complete bollocks.
The garlic cult was so absurd!!
Innocents died for the sake of garlic recently. Glad to view this time capsule of a video.
Those guys in the restaurant sound so pretentious 😂
My intention is not to piss people off here... But ima' bout' to start a war.
There's two type of folk:
A) Those whom believe garlic to be toxic (a few egs...Jainists, Hair Krishna's, the English royals, Yogis')
B) Those who bathe everything in garlic (including their neighbours kid and their cats). Garlic cannot be overrated in their opinion.
Which one are you?

Hearing that fool claiming the USA was breaking down the stigma against garlic was hilarious. Typical, western narcissism that. Meanwhile it was only westerners who had a problem with it. The rest of the world always loved the stuff.
you better not be disrespecting Edward Woodward there
@@terrortower666 pardon me for the abrupt subject change but what the actual f*** is up with that screen name?
he's jewish, not white gentile.
@@pinetree1616 and how is that relevant exactly?
@@mustwereallydothis WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU ON ABOUT????
