Here's the issue... these shocks were bought used and not manufactured for a wolverine nor ever installed... if you want real world reviews from customers running these shocks visit www.814utvsuspension.com or 814 utv suspension group page
I like that you are not brand loyal to everything you buy. Some guys buy stuff and will say they are best thing in the world because they don’t want to admit the product they bought sucks.
Thanks for not answering my question. And I did check, I have much more travel. The difference is I didn't buy my shocks used like you did. Do you even know what machine they were on before you bought them? I put 814's on a new 2018 Honda Pioneer. I ordered my shocks new. You can't "click and buy" 814 UTV suspension. They are a custom build. So if you bought your used, unless it came off a machine identical to yours, the limiter straps would surely be the wrong length. And I have not seen a video of you testing the shocks. Did you even take it for a ride?
@@crappiekrazy1 I've tested them in 8 different states and then put the stock ones back on... Smoother ride, auto adjustable rear suspension, no BS straps and way more TRAVEL
I had these 814 shocks on my x2 and they sucked. After 1 hour of riding you couldn't even touch the shock without burning your hand and the ride was like back to factory. Also very bouncy.
The shocks are so small they need the help. Nothing close to fox 2.5 with 3/4" shaft. But the strap will stretch 1" per 12" of length as a rule of thumb.
Thanks for the reviews of what actually works and what doesn't in this game. I value the opinions of you and some of the Candian guys on here for real world testing.
If you have the time could you please do a video on buying a used Honda four wheeler? I’ve been checking Craigslist and it seems as though they are either destroyed or in perfect condition. I don’t have a ton of money I’m looking for something in the area of like 3-4K. Nothing crazy just something that will get me out there and have fun. Thanks :)
Has Tim from Some Damnfools talked to you yet? He just bought a Polaris 850 and has some question. I watched all your videos and your why I bought my 850.
Did you ever go for a trail ride and give us some real feedback? All the feedback you have is based on your opinion. No real practical use of those shocks.
Why the efff would anyone want limiting straps that are shorter than the shock itself! Whats the point of the lift then! Bad manufacturing, bad customer service= bad company products
Limit straps stop your shocks from fully extending to the max so they don't pop the end cap off. After market springs have more rebound force than stock. Also limit straps stretch so much per foot. I disagree with the author of this video on the need for them. When under load this straps will be very close to the max extension of the shocks.
Brian is correct. Also we tend to add bigger tires, which are heavier then stock. This put more stress on the shock when airing it out. For the most part 99% get away with it, knock on wood. Anything but the laid back trail rider would want a more substantial shock to begin with. The top of the line has 3/4" shafts. They can handle much more rebound and heavier tires without harm.
As soon as I saw these shocks requiring limit straps, I thought no way. Definitely a cost saving approach

THANK YOU. THESE ARE OFF MY LIST OF SHOCK UPGRADES. THESE ARE NOT CHEAP EITHER. I WILL SPEND A BIT MORE AND GET ELKA'S

I have 814's and couldn't be happier. Did you buy these new? Are you sure they are designed for the the Yamaha X4?
Lol that is because you do not measure your travel before and after
You have less wheel travel than you did with your stock shocks. And the front spring rate is way too stiff

I agree they are pathetic shocks

Can’t believe you are even going to try it lol great videos though!
Dude how are you not sponsored by Honda yet??? I don’t get it🤣

Love ur vids u should upload more
I was close to buying thosee or vikings. Ill just deal with stock for now
Yeah I wouldn't these same ones for yours I'll make you a deal ;) lol just kidding
What do recommend for a Viking bi if your just looking for smoother ride and 2 inches of lift for shocks
Those Viking coilovers are just standard off the shelf coilovers for on road use, they are not intended for this type of application.
So after installation do they work well or not out on the trail ? thanks
I was not impressed with them at all sold the setup. Stock performed just as good and didn't need the complications of having limiting straps
Mud puppy do you gear reductions on Honda rincon 680 if not who do you recommend thanks
Pioneer 700 reduction
Do you have a shop that does it or someone you would recommend I wanna pay to get it done thanks
And you’re saying it better to do the pioneer 700 reduction instead of the big red?

I did. They sucked. Absolute junk sold after 3 rides.
sorry you bought them. they are just rebranded viking shocks. they are built for cars
Yeah make sense I'm just glad I didn't pay full price for this junk
Are they the correct limiting straps for the X4.
Yep
I think the tool your using is wrong, you, you are the tool lol
Hilarious
Curious your thoughts now that you have Fox, Elka, and 814's! I need to upgrade my X4
Def wouldn't go with 814. I've had Elka and fox on other machine both good
So glad someone else realizes how silly limiting straps are on a side by side
STOP SPINNING AROUND DAMNIT!!!!!!
Lol but seriously
Someone needs attention
