    Thank you so much for this! I’ve been having a hard time finding flat knit garments and all I have right now are straight needles that I found at the thrift store. Learning crafts on a budget is a struggle, but incredible folks like you who are willing to share their knowledge, creations, and time with all of us is what makes it possible. 💙 thank you for all you do!

    Hi
    I'm getting ready to start your cute cardigan. You are smaller than I am but, can you tell me what size you made ? I luv the fit you are wearing and it will maybe help to decide what size I might need. Thx so much for your time and talent.

      I think I'm wearing size 4 (50.5" finished bust) which gives me a little over 10 inches of positive ease (meaning it's a bit over 10" larger than my actual measurements). Hope that helps!

    Hi question about the sleeve: I think I messed up somewhere because when I go to do the setup row the yarn is on the wrong side, is it possible to skip the setup row? Also thank you so much for the pattern your directions are really clear 😊

    Since Yarn Bee Yarn ID is no longer available, could you please recommend another yarn? I've never made a cardigan before and I'm nervous about having the right supplies. Thank you.

    • @TheBlueMouseKnits
      @TheBlueMouseKnits  11 дней назад

      I think Yarn ID is still available, but here are some similar yarns to it. A good yardage range to look for is around 175-185 yds in a 100g ball of worsted/aran yarn. That will most likely give you a yarn similar to yarn ID.
      - MillaMia: Naturall Soft Aran
      - Yarn Bee: Easygoing
      - Lion Brand: Heartland
      - Premier Yarns: Anti-Pilling Everyday Worsted
      - Universal Yarns: Uptown Worsted
      - Big Twist: Living
      - Bernat: Premium
      - West Yorkshire Spinners: ColourLab Aran
      - Lion Brand: Basic Stitch Anti Pilling Worsted
      - Lion Brand: Basic Stitch Anti Pill Skein Tones
      - Stylecraft: Softie Chunky

      @@TheBlueMouseKnits Thank you so much for your reply. I was actually able to find the Yarn ID last night by googling "Yarn ID". Before, I went to Hobby Lobby's site and searched for it and came up with nothing. Don't know what was going on, but am happy to find the yarn. I ordered some and am very excited to try knitting your cardigan. Thanks so much for the video. :)

    In the beginning of the video, How do we know it’s the right side or wrong side? Because when I google it it says tail is on the left is the wrong side, but it’s not clear to me.

    • @TheBlueMouseKnits
      @TheBlueMouseKnits  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, the right side can be whatever side you want, it just means that it will be the side that is shown on the outside of the cardigan. And the wrong side will be on the inside of your cardigan, against your clothes/body. The cast on I used for this project makes the first row a little ugly, so I made that a wrong side row so it won't show in the end. But, if your cast on makes that first row pretty, then you can skip that setup row and go straight to row 1 which is a right side row. Does that help clear it up at all?

    I have a question
    Are you able to do this whole cardigan with just straight knitting needles?

    • @TheBlueMouseKnits
      @TheBlueMouseKnits  6 месяцев назад

      Possibly for the smaller sizes. You’ll have a lot of stitches on your needles, and they’ll be a bit scrunched while working, but you may be able to make it work for the first few size options.

    I just want to emphasize for anyone starting this pattern: SIZE UP! She recommends 4-10” larger than what your measurements are, I only went about 2” more than what I measured, thinking that would be enough, and my first cardigan came out very snug.

    So when doing the armhole shaping part, rows 1 where you bind off and row 2, do those count in the 42 rows total, or just rows 3 & 4?

    The counts on the pattern don’t make sense to me. Why are smaller sizes running longer?

    • @Trailmixxed
      @Trailmixxed 13 дней назад

      I think it’s so you are using the same amount of yarn no matter what size you pick? I don’t think it differs a whole lot, and you can probably just make a note to work it longer than what the pattern says for your size.

    • @Trailmixxed
      @Trailmixxed 12 дней назад

      I just figured it out, it’s because your armhole is larger, so the length is always the same at the end! So the larger the size, the shorter the initial body to account for the added length to the armhole shaping.

    Can you clarify the sizes? I don't understand the 1(234)[56]

    • @TheBlueMouseKnits
      @TheBlueMouseKnits  10 месяцев назад +2

      Sure thing! I have a video from yesterday where I explain it, but I will write it down below so you can read or watch it :)
      How to read the sizing STRUCTURE
      Sizing is all written like this: 1 (2, 3, 4)[5, 6]
      All the information for the sizes: Cast On, Rows to knit...etc. will structured like this.
      Read anything written in this sequence from left to right. Your size number will be that # counted from left to right:
      If you are knitting Size 1, your information will always be first in the sequence: *1 (2, 3, 4)[5, 6)
      If you are knitting Size 2, your information will always be second in the sequence: 1 (*2, 3, 4)[5, 6)
      And so on for each size. Keep your size in mind and you can count from left to right to find your instruction.
      So if you are following size 3 and it says to cast on 30 (32, 36, 40)[42, 46] sts. You will be casting on 36 stitches because that is the 3rd instruction in the sequence.
      I hope that helps clear it up.
