In this video we take a real PC from a real curb, and with some love- turn into a machine ready for my monthly LAN.
This video seeks to prove that garbage PC, that costed literally nothing- can be revived into something capable of (all be it old) gaming.

The fact that you were watching Pulp fiction while making the LAN BOX stencil just increased my love for this channel 10 fold.
Another fucking excellent video from Ham. Good production values on this, too, and I like how instead of reviving an older PC you bougt cheap(as incredibly fun as that is), you showed off what can be done with a 'garbage' PC for literally 0$.
Oh, and saving trash PCs? 10/10! just got in an HP-Compaq 6005 SFF box with a Phenom II X2, gonna do something with that.

Every time I watch one of your videos it makes me feel like I'm young and single again! Wish i could take a midnight trip to the garage after having a good lan session. Nice save! Those kinds of computers sell at my local thrift for 10-15 euros... without RAM or HDDs, which are sold loose, to get more money... Fun to see the LAN party, I remember you talking about just having the computers for LAN parties but it's fun to actually see it! Also, looking at the sub box, man, your channel has grown since I subscribed. And rightfully so!

I seriously need to start doing this. I live only a few miles from the U of M, and people throw old family computers they got for college away every semester, and a huge piece of wall decor made of working LAN rigs would be the best.

Great video! I used a custom build that was very simular to the HP, and it was my first PC. I remember playing the original Halo and some glitchy monster truck/demolition derby game on it.

Hello, I noticed that at 3:43 you had a cat on top of your lan box, What graphics card was the cat running if you don't mind? also how many gigabytes of ram did it have? I assume they were DDR3?

I love what this channel is all about. I once went to to my local landfill and saw the guy in front of me had 4, 4!! desktops in the back of his truck. I begged him to let me take them instead of discarding them but nope. i would have even payed him more than it cost to dump them.

Great video. Cool to see I'm not the only one who likes to revive old rigs. Found an old Dell Dimension dropped off in front of a Savers. Swiped it, brought it home, cleaned it up, installed an 8800GT, and grabbed 2GB of RAM and swapped out the Pentium D for an 8400 Wolfdale for $10 total via eBay. Passed it on to my little sister as a birthday gift. Crushes Minecraft, Skullgirls, and Undertale no sweat.
On the one hand, people should think twice before junking these rigs, there's still a lot of life in em with some TLC.
But on the other hand this mentality let's me grab a Core 2 Duo for $5 so more power to the masses I suppose xD
I hope we get green ham gaming again, There is just something special about these videos and edits.

I remember my mother had a PC much like the LAN Box. It was a HP Pavilion T-series with the same case.
The specs were: Celeron D 335 "Prescott", Nvidia GeForce FX 5200, 160GB HDD, 1GB DDR SDRAM. It ran Windows XP SP2, and was capable of running pretty much all of the old early-mid 2000's LAN-games with average-good framerates
An update to the previous comment:
I got the old HP (LAN-box) set up, and working on it in order to restore it to it's former glory
It's gonna get a whole lot of fun playing old games on that thing :D
Like Half-Life, CS 1.6, GTA Vice City, the good old Worms games, and pretty much anything early 2000's

This video, along with others of yours have made me want to do something special with my PC. it started life as a HP Compaq Core 2 Quad desktop that was transplanted into a Fractal Design Core 1100 case and given a graphics upgrade to a GTX 750. He is Yorkfield, named after the microarchitecture his Q9400 runs on, he runs modern games like CS:GO decently, and has no trouble with older titles.
I'm definitely thinking of spraying the Intel logo on one of his side panels, either that or a custom logo, I'm still deciding

I work at my university's IT department as a student worker and every year they have recycle day. My supervisor lets me have the old dell optiplexes and latitudes as well as some macbook pros to offset the terrible pay. I have all these computers down in my basement and one day I'll just host a lan party where my friends and I play some Counter Strike and Gmod while eating some pizza. Sounds like a great plan :p

What a coincidence, today I managed to stick a 500W PSU in an old HP Pavillion, and now it manages to power the whole thing instead of forcing you to unplug the optical drives. I even slapped in an AGP 4670 and did some testing with DMC4, and I was surprised with how well the P4 and 4670 handled the game.
Low end gaming is fun!
I got one of those from my friend, except it was using the cruddy integrated graphics. Nice find!

in brazil i rescued a pc with a pentium III with 128mb of ram that barely supports Windows XP

I wish our area allowed PCs to be thrown on the curb still (it's illegal now) so I could pick them up before the trash collection can. There's always a bunch of computers at the recycling center (sometimes even Core 2 Duos) that I wish I could pick up. My Optiplex 745 was saved by me right before it got tossed into the recycling bin - all that was wrong was they had been trying to install Windows 8 and Windows 7, which install from DVDs, from a CD-RW Drive.

uh righto mate i dont know about these other guys but here in Australia most country kids like myself know how to drive by about 14, i was driving utes on our property at the age of 7 and driving trucks at the age of 10, im 16 now and learning to drive at a young age is the best thing you can do ON PRIVATE PROPERTY not on public roads of course because it teaches kids how to drive from a young age so they have a bit more experience behind them.
