Covid didnt ruin Matt. TK, Young Bucks and Chris Jericho ruined Matt. Just watch that first ever promo with Broken Matt and Chris Jericho, Jericho buried the gimmick on the spot and he didnt work well with it at all.
In order for supernatural gimmicks to work, you need the wrestlers around to buy i to the gimmick, not tear it down. Undertaker would have never worked if the the other wrestlers didn't buy into the gimmick and make the audience believe in the character of the Undertaker, Kane, Mankind, etc
Definitely the major factors. I also think they subsequently performed poorly in the ring and in interviews.

As much as I love the Hardy Boyz, Matt was never gon be a main event talent in the stage of his career that he joined AEW, and Jeff buried their chances at the Tag belts by crashing out. It’s not “devaluing” when Jeff is a detriment to the show. Lest we talk about Victory Road 2011 again.

That was 13 years ago let it go man. Also Matt didn't have to be main event status to be valued. He still has a lot to give to wrestling and he's one of those guys that 100% gets the phycology. Tony khan brings in talent, does a big reveal, and then you never see them again, I mean look at danhausen? That dude could be a big for them he's so good outside the ring and is surprisingly very good in the ring. Tony is famous for wasting talent you can't even argue that. Tony is also a coward he just let's contracts run out and ignores talent when he doesn't want them back. He's like a toddler when he sees someone else using a toy he wants it but soon as he gets it he doesn't want it anymore

No BS, just putting in work. I just hope the Hardy Boyz can put it together and captivate us for one last run and Jeff can finally have his chance to go out on top because at the end of the day I’m still a fan of the Hardys.

There is that old saying "the grass is greener on the other side". For some people the grass is greener at AEW. For other people it's not. Regardless, I'm glad that WWE, AEW, and TNA are viable options. There is nothing worse than a monopoly.
Yeah, sorry the Hardys is probably my favorite tag team ever but even I could see that their run in AEW never really justified more air time.
I love the hardyz.. I remember when they started becoming the iconic team we know in the late 90s but watching then in AEW I was so scared they were going to hurt themselves. Glad they're back in TNA where they reinvented themselves.
Tony khan is a man of moments , not layered storytelling . He’s about the moments , but they have no substance . Tony got the broken Matt debut , he got the Jeff Hardy debut , he got the Jeff Hardy crazy spot moments on aew television , and he got to say homegrown talent had got put over by the legendary Hardy’s . Hardys made business for aew , aew never made business for the Hardy’s .

He’s old as fuck and already has a past of abuse and injuries . It was a collective of that shit and it wasn’t like they were put in a good position in aew to succeed . It was a nostalgia run and a fan moment for tony to book the Hardy boys .

His Match with Darby Allin was one of the best ever.

As a huge huge fan of you two, the over protecting and unrelenting defense of Jeff regardless of his demons by big brother Matt has been a huge double edged sword for you both.
Wish it had worked out but love that you guys are thriving in TNA, which is also a fantastic company doing great things right now too
i personally think the overexaggerated relentless demonising of useless junkie jeff by the fans has been disgusting to see, being as there's nothing to actually suggest jeff couldn't go - but there's plenty to suggest the constant stream of fake empathy and worry to the point where it changed the public perception even though he didn't do anything on camera to suggest he's actually incapable is what ruined the run.

The Hardys always got huge reception whenever they did anything in AEW. It would have been worth it to keep them on tv to help build younger talent.

Can't erase the fact that they're legends and have made significant contributions to the wrestling business, particularly in the tag team division. Whether they botch or not, they deserve to be respected just like the other legends. I've seen Jeff's last matches (Swerve, Darby, Moxley), and just recently Matt against Moose, and they both wrestled decently for their age and for what they've been through. So I don't know what are you sayin'. I think it's really about correctly managing your expectations. You can't expect a 46 yr. old Jeff to move like a 23 yr. old Jeff.

i believe that WWE wants the hardies back, but WWE being always one for the shenanigans basically don't want to be seen taking AEWs cast off like AEW has been known to take WWEs.. so they/wwe told Matt - probably.. go to TNA for a year, build up good credit and after that year you can come back for a final run Maybe a mania Run.. There's been good will between WWE and TNA lately, which add to my theory. WWE is trying to turn TNA in to a developmental for them..

Saw you and Jeff in Ontario CA in Nov. You both could barely move. You cashed your check and didn’t drop weight until you knew you were toast and had to go back to TNA. Matt was given a chance to get over and didn’t and Jeff is still unreliable

Tony Khan has a bad reputation about just ghosting people that he doesn't plan to resign and that's a really bad way to do business. I mean Jeff did himself no favors by getting himself busted again right before the Hardy's were scheduled to win the AEW tag titles but I feel like it was never really gonna work long term anyway Tony is like that kid who gets a new toy plays with it for awhile and then moves on to another new toy and that's honestly what has happened with a majority of his former WWE signings.

I'm so glad Matt & Jeff returned to TNA Impact. It's the only wrestling fed I always watched since many years now. Like to watch ROH too, it has a similar arena size and feeling like TNA. WWE and AEW just have too many shows per week it's too much and exhausting. Anyway nice to have the greatest brothers in wrestling back in total nonstop action 😊.

I wouldnt say devalued, however i dont AEW was right for them. They're style is far too intense and high effort for Matt and Jeff who are physicaly not capable of competing at that level. TNA have great wrestling and they can wrestle matches with less of a toll.

I enjoyed seeing you with Ethan Page and Isaiah Cassidy.. Sometimes think if they are not keeping Jeff concentrating on something he goes to the bottle. If he won the first Owen Hart tournament and you both win tag team titles. It would have been different. Aew drops the ball again.
Jeff dropped the ball, not AEW. They were set to give the Hardys a tag team push, but Jeff got busted, yet again. AEW couldn't trust him after that.
