So ,i did comment in the original podcast but wanted to do so again before the reaction requests flood in. The song is inspired by the story of the Blue Smeraldo flower origin. The lyrics make more sense if you read the summary of the story incase you guys want to dig deeper.

The power and emotion on jungkooks voice is so apparent here… they’re all singing similar melodies and lyrics.. but where the others will do a word in one note perfectly… jungkook will sing that same melody but do it as a three note run or riff… his musical understanding and intelligence is off the charts… bc it’s not just him doubling a lyric or throwing a “oh oh “ at the end of his part… but if you actually listen and try to separate what he’s singing while Jin and jimin are singing there at the end… it’s actually a bit difficult at first to clock where they start and he starts.. bc he’s harmonizing and adlibbing just weaving his way in and out of both of their parts there at the end. If you took out the adlibs from the end… it would still be a great song… but his adlibs just elevate the end to be so much more than it would have been. I really love Vs vocal texture in the beginning especially, Jin’s belty style, jimins more fragile style fits this emotions beautifully… ugh they’re so good man

RM wrote it when he was at the park thinking about the friends he missed. However, the music video for the song seems to be about a national tragedy that occurred two years prior that left the whole country devastated.
