I’ve tried many strops but my favorite is the one I made several years ago using two leather belts I attached to a three foot board for long strokes. And when I was experimenting with compounds I found my favorite to be the compound sold by Dremel. Just fantastic for maintaining your blades.
When I first got into knives,I didn't realize sharpening and stropping to get that perfect, mirror, hair popping edge, would be my favorite part. Stropping upped my knife edge game by leaps and bounds to get a scary sharp edge. I can feel that sticky section of the edge to know right when the edge is properly on the strop.
Well hello you beautiful piece of work you I know long time no talk but I have been saving you up for a good old binge viewing session! Ohh baby am I in for a true treat 😜 stay safe and healthy my man, hope the good lady is all good and well also 😘👍
Just bought that rod. I been using the little keychain one that came in my Lansky kit for about a year now. The longer one should be much nicer to use...
Have you tried any sprays or emulsions yet? It cuts down on the drying time and is really easy to apply. Good vid, I'm going to try out one of those strops
Yes I have dmt spray, which I do like sometimes I feel paste is a bit better especially for edge maintenance and the spray is good for edge finishing but the paste is good for that as well with the rt micron rating
By the way the green stick that you have is chromium oxide. I dont know how pure it is but it is Not, aluminum oxide. Both have different purposes. They dont last as long as mono diamond , because diamond is the hardest mineral on earth.
Sorry. Sourcing had nothing to do with the sourcing. Please check with the US customs department, about any importation of any kangaroo leather products. No,! Sourcing is not the issue.
well i would go with stroppy stuff either way, its a diamond emulsion that is highly consetrated, if you watch any of my most recent videos its what i talk about the most, i have it linked in the new videos in the hapstone link or in the Neeveknifeco link
Highly concentrated? Does that translate to a specific percentage of the total compound is diamond powder or is it high percentage according to which agency. I also believe that this is an emulsion which limits the total percentage of diamond powder. That is because it is an oil based product.

Great vid lots of great info. Keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
Thanks Todd 👊
Ceramic honing and stropping are 95% of my edge maintenance. It's amazing how long an edge will last between full sharpenings.
For sure

Wow, I thought I had audio problem. I slowly brought the volume up...then "BANG, Neeve's Knives".
😆 gottem
Please be more specific with the different compounds that you have described. Seems your info is incorrect.

Sorry an emulsion is not a paste. What the syringe looks like a paste compound. An emulsion has always been more fluid than a paste.
