Anthony: You don’t make designs of very obscure characters for kids. 90’s Toybiz: Okay, for the next wave of Marvel toys we’ll do Kylun, Kane, Krule and Grizzly. But Grizzly from the X-Men, Not the one from Spider-Man. I’m kidding because back then kids would buy anything with an “X” on it. That’s not the case anymore.
Acceptable as a spot filler is a good description and ofc these are made for adult collectors, the problem is Hasbro insists on treating the adult collectors as kids. To be honest most adult collectors act like they are in fact... kids. I agree with all of your critics, thanks for the review Anthony.
Some glossy black boots would have really helped break the sculpt. Hasbro should have thought about taking a different direction once they saw the prototype. I don't know why they would green light that face.
#1 - Yeah, I’m a fan of this version of Cyclops. #2 - Absolutely a five head 😂 Couldn’t agree more, I really really want to like this figure. Wish they’d have added some shading, or really hoping down the line they take another crack at this guy. Or hell, fingers crossed Mafex ends up making more AoA figures.
The "Bucky cap" has done so so so much damage to the industry. I swear. They used the same legs for that same fucking line and then they put it in the new spiderman animated figures. The plastic is so fucking bad on them. It's unforgivable how skinny and short they did magneto.
I refer to this version of cyclops as "the renagade " it looks like the main character from the show of the same name. I feel the upper body is ok but the lower body doesn't look good at all and the toy biz figure came with the the missing eye that wolverine cut out . I wished they did a better job on this figure.
The hair is the worst thing for me My plan for this fig is to make him another AoA fugitive, and give him an X-Force silver/grey and black uniform ... and some hair.
This is the second design of Cyclops that I like. This first being Jim Lee's run of Xmen becauseof the animated series. @anthonycustom which of legends buck would you use if they have to reuse from their existing list?
I got mine a while ago and did a wash on it right away, I forgot how bad it looked. I'm not sure if anyone would really be able to answer this, but how much would it cost a company like Hasbro to do a wash on a figure like this? Does that process need to be done by hand for large manufacturers? I know the actual supplies to do it wouldn't be much, but I'm wondering if it adds a lot of labor to the mfg process, or if Hasbro is really just that lazy and cheap.
Anthony, I like some of the character design for AOA. Cyclops was not one of them. Even the old 'Slim' design is better, I have a soft spot for the X-factor costume. But nothing can happen if the budget will not allow for wash and better paint apps. I agree with folks who say added black almost anywhere..boots should of been a gimmie. I like you Trying to find a higher rating for the figure😄 and then going back to your usual standards 👍
Now that I think of it, it's really annoying to me that we've gotten 2 waves of AoA, when they could have made other characters instead. I would much rather get mainline X-men than these spin offs, and they can't even be bothered to do these figures well. It's just kind of a waste, all around
Is it just me or does this figure's face look a bit like Biff Tannen? I like the idea of a Cyclops with long hair but this figure is making me reconsider.
Just got this from Amazon yesterday. Totally agree with the review. Gummy legs, needs more paint details on the blue, and kinda meh all around. If it wasn’t on sale, wouldn’t have grabbed it!
i’m losing hope for marvel legends. the only thing keeping me buying is no other company pumps out so much of the marvel lineup and completed teams like hasbro does. the problem is they mostly all suck or are mediocre with some good ones. the great ones are even more rare. hasbro makes this hobby disappointing at times
I got a ton of legends and probably on display a portion of them on my shelf because some of my figures don't stand well or the designs are just look bad and cheap
Zup Anthony, I like the comics design but not the figures this one in particular, I got the entire run of BaF just for Colossus. To be honest this one it’s the ugliest of all
I got him super cheap but I still regret it. He is soooo cheap and nasty. Even cheap ML are too expensive. If I knew a baby that was teething I'd gladly donate this figure as chew toy.
i hate the AoA designs....yeah dead horse..i keep saying it. but this one is really freaking bad. hes supposed to have boots right? Still...im glad there are figures for those who wanted AoA ones..but half of the wave really feels like low effort.
Vegeta got competition on the hairline.

plus, adults collected back then too. and those were contemporary characters more so than now.

I know why its cause they dont give a crap ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That dive and... "He didn't like when I said that" hahaha that timing was perfect!
I like this figure for what it is: potential to be something better.
I also hate the face and think he has a definite five head. Thanks for the great review Anthony🤟
What is "five head"?
finally a superhero with a relatable hairline 🥲

Yes, i like this design of him.
Would you like fries with that?
The hair is the worst thing for me

I like the design of this cyclops. Honestly they could have done a better job. It wouldn't cost them much to put in more effort. Good review dude.
I spy a peg-warmer... Keep it up, Hasbro! No wonder my local stores won't restock your Legends toys anymore... can't blame them, I guess.
Finally! I've been asking for an action figure representing the concept of a hairline for decades!
This is the second design of Cyclops that I like. This first being Jim Lee's run of Xmen becauseof the animated series. @anthonycustom which of legends buck would you use if they have to reuse from their existing list?
i dont think they have a good one since they never give anyone broad chest/shoulders.
Got it for like 8 bucks at Target, it's pretty good for 8 ngl.
From the proud owner of a 5 head I can honestly say that is 100% a 5 head, maybe even a 6 head.
His face looks like Dwight Schrute was behing that visor
Can't wait to buy more of these same molds for $5 more!
Whenever the figure falls I'm obligated to like the vid😂
I keep passing this one, waiting for clearance.
I got mine a while ago and did a wash on it right away, I forgot how bad it looked.

I was excited for this one. Saw it at Walmart and said “nope”
Judging by the number of them at my Walmart, you are not alone in that decision.
Is it just me or does this figure's face look a bit like Biff Tannen? I like the idea of a Cyclops with long hair but this figure is making me reconsider.
Will you be reviewing the new Luffy figures from either sh figuarts or mega house?
Is there a new shf? The mega house one is a design i don't like so that's unlikely though.
LOL love the rating.
Just got this from Amazon yesterday. Totally agree with the review. Gummy legs, needs more paint details on the blue, and kinda meh all around. If it wasn’t on sale, wouldn’t have grabbed it!
It’s a seven head
This figure would be amazing if it came with trigger finger hands and a pizza for his oven.
his legs can disconnect at the thing cut

I was a fan of the original toybiz figure of this design and I think that it looks better than this figure !
Not a fan of this design “at all!”
1st
no ur not
First!!!
no ur not
Worst marvel legend of 2021
Also that’s a 6 head
I got him super cheap but I still regret it. He is soooo cheap and nasty. Even cheap ML are too expensive. If I knew a baby that was teething I'd gladly donate this figure as chew toy.

This guy looks like a they/them person if you know what I mean.... IT IS MA'AM!!!!
Looks like a bad custom, not an official figure
Can’t believe collectors still buy this crap.
Crap figure I bought just for the BAF part.😖
This thing looks dumb.
