We used to drive past the Osborne house every year. My cousin's wife's parents used to own one of those side properties and sold out to Jennings Osborne. He also used to throw barbecue parties for charity every 4th of July in his backyard. I have never heard of Spooky Talk Show and I have lived here all my life. I will have to check that out.
Adam, it was so great to meet you and visit with you yesterday! There's not much better than talking Disney Parks with someone as obsessed as myself. Even though she was too starstruck to speak, meeting you meant the world to my daughter and her plan at school today is to tell her friends all about you and create more ATW viewers! Thanks again for all you do to bring such goodness to us everyday. Stay safe out there buddy!
Mr. Osborne and his family moved into the house beside ours when I was younger and it was awesome. He would land his helicopter in the field by our house all the time. I went over to sell them some candy for a school fundraiser and ended up eating a steak and lobster with them that night! Mr. Osborne, Mitzi, and Breezy were very very nice people who always brought joy to others. Awesome video Adam!
Yep. Drinks in glass bottles will always taste better. I've been drinking Mt Dew since Tip bottled it (about 3 years before Pepsi bought it) and have always preferred the glass bottled version.
Karen Lindsey If the glass is actually made from glass and the ice didn't come out of a fast food ice maker it will be one of the best experiences. Even better is a nice frosty glass mug like A&W uses for their root beer.
Its all about degradation of vessels that slightly alter the taste of the soda. Glass remains pure for longer. Glass > Can > Bottle. Fountains can be good too. What is more surprising is the lengths McDonalds goes to ensure syrup is delivered at the pinnacle temperature. Never take a soda from McDs without ice as it is key to maintaining the correct soda blend.
That's what I absolutely love about your videos, Adam; you never know where the adventure will take you! Looking forward to checking out Spooky Talk Show. Cheers!
just thought I should tell you that I appreciate all the work you do every day. I love seeing you and all the places you visit. thanks for sharing your life with me and all your hard work.
What a cool story about Mr. Osbourne, he was a rebel after my own heart. Loved the fact that there are still pirate talk shows that have interesting people and indie bands. The big corporate talk shows now are so lame, I do miss Johnny Carson.
A friend was Osborn's official photographer each year when he and his family visited Hollywood Studios to see the lights. They enjoyed touring the parks with their own VIP host - and are all big Disney fans. Another great vlog!
just thought I should tell you that I appreciate al l the work you do every day. I love seeing you and all the places you visit. thanks for sharing your life with me and all your hard work.
Hey Adam heads up there are really bad storms predictions for Arkansas tomorrow and Wednesday. Tomorrow especially high risk of tornadoes! Please be careful and watch the weather. Stay safe my friend!! We love you and don't want anything to happen to you.
Wow Adam, such a beautiful story. I had no idea that Jennings Osborne was the man who started what we in Australia now call The Christmas Light Displays. It is HUGE in Australia now ~~ people work on their light displays all year and are already thinking and planning their displays many months/years in advance. They say. You learn something everyday and I am really chuffed to think I learned this today from you. Makes me wonder how many people are aware of the history of the Christmas Lights. It is said Australia follows the United States in various trends/fashions and feel for sure with this we have followed in your footsteps. Thank you soo much Adam going to sleep on a high note tonight ! xoxox
hope you enjoyed your time in little rock adam and enjoyed being on the sppoky talk show. josh is a cool dude and I am sure you guys had a good time. enjoy your vids and insight. I have recently become addicted to this channel. safe travel to ya.
The origins of the Osborne Spectacle Of Lights was something I did not know. It was really never explained to me every time we went to WDW MGM Studios...I mean Hollywood Studios..Opps My Bad....during the Holiday Season. We were just in awe of the number of lights strung along the back stage tour homes before they were torn down. That was a great moment you created for me Adam The Woo, Happy Trails.
Wow he was a great dad to do that for his daughter, it had to be majestic!!!! Thanks Adam another fun one!!! Got my WOO FIX for the day!!! Stay safe my friend. Yes, my husband drinks only Coke and he can tell the difference!!!!😀😀😀😀
First off there definitely is a taste difference between a can and a bottle. This was awesome! Never saw the house but the comparison with the lights from the old pictures were amazing! I could never picture any of that at a house. Thank you for sharing!
In the early days, Jennings and his family would hand out huge candy canes to every one who came through.... and the home fell into disrepair after he passed away. I miss the Osborne lights, but was lucky enough to see them at WDW the last Christmas they were displayed.... So glad to see your vlogs here in Little Rock!
I remember going by that Osborne house and seeing all them lights when I was a kid. it was really cool. and neat. hope u can make it down my way. see some things here.
I can tell the difference between canned and bottled soda too. I can also tell the difference between the 2 liter bottles and the smaller bottles. I thought it was just me lol. Love your vlogs! This is the 2nd time I'm subscribing. I was subscribed on a different account. I found you through the Tim Tracker vlog.
Glass bottled Dew is the best and when it's made with cane sugar, throw back style even better. 😋 Gonna seriously miss the Osborne lights so I hope they find a home someplace. 👍 Have The Spooky Talk Show ready to roll. Looks great. 🤗
Thank you for your story on the Osborne family, altho incomplete. I live in a small town 40miles north of Little Rock and at the time 80's-90's worked in Little Rock. Jennings Osborne Christmas light show was spectacular! I remember it well, I have a friend that is a pilot, and one night we did a fly-over of his home(s) (I just wish I had the thought of filming it). It was just as awesome above as on the ground! But that isn't where it stops. Mr. Osborne was a man of giving. After he lost the fight to light his lights, he began to feed people at parties and gatherings. He had a ranch building with many massive smoker/cookers and would feed the police, fire, EMS and the like for free on special occasions. (See Adam Richmond in "Man vs. Food" (Season 2 Episode 17) Mr. Osborne died July 2011 of complications following a heart attack.
Hey Adam! Thank you for being a regular Dew drinker piping in on the topic. I've had type 1 diabetes since I was 12 (16 years now) and I have ALWAYS tasted the difference between bottles and cans....but I only drink the diet stuff so I assumed that was why!
Time to get a small scooter to get around with for the times you can't park close. Neat story. Up in Springfield Massachusetts they have a event called Bright Nights and they do it in Forest Park. The last time we went there they had changed it all over to LED's. Pretty neat. You just drive through it. Neat behind the scenes shots of the show. Have a good one! -Jon
What a great story about the lights! As a big time Disney fan I would've considered leaving with a loosened nail souvenir. Another gem. Thanks Adam! Now go back to Graceland and pay your respects for us all to the King.
Pepsi is the same way. Tastes best out of glass bottle, then plastic bottle, then lastly a can. With the can you can almost taste the metal in it. Of course it tasted better back in the 80's when they used cane sugar and not corn syrup.
Mark Fun Jones ...hey mark, I've come back from the future. ..I missed your show with your boys...dangit...but then again I've haven't been utubing that long...have a great day☺...peace and love across the globe☺ now I must return to the future🔜 and or present
I subbed The Spooky Talk Show...Its probably too late, but a couple hours south is a place that is now called the Highland Industrial Park. Somewhere out there is an old munitions plant called "Sun Castle". I used to party out there in the late 70's. It was a Navy ammo depot during ww2. Lots of missile related industry still.
How the heck do any of Adam's videos get a 👎?! This video alone has gotten 26?! I mean, dang... This is one of the few channels that I can actually watch with my kids and not have to worry about profanity and nonsense. Baffles my mind...
The daughter, Breezy was actually their only child. Actually, Jennings bought the two houses one on the left and one on the right, becuause they always complained about the Christmas lights and the traffic they brought. So, he offered to buy their homes, which he did.... he said.... "Well, now I have room to expand the lights" They were always all red lights....

He is also famous for his BBQ's Look up Man V. Food Little Rock and it's the first clip of the show..... (it's on youtube).... he was an amazing man who GAVE BACK to the people!
Yeah he did.... it's all in ruins now.... the house belongs to a city... can't recall the name right now... and it's not Little or North Little Rock... starts with an R.... they had planned to refurbish it make a museum or sell it, but they said it was too trashed inside.... damn shame.... Jennings and Mitzi took such pride in that home....
Watching your Arkansas run again..... I remembered something else about the Osborne lights..... the workmen started on June 25, six months exactly before Christmas.... often it was down to the wire if they would finish on time. It is still so sad to see what happened to the house, after the man gave so much back to the people.
Great video, Adam. Love for you to go on a Banyan's Adventure when your back in California. Oh yea, and dad says he taste the difference in Mountain Dew cans vs bottles. Your not alone!!
I have noticed that with any soda. My perennial favorite, Pepsi, is the same way. However, getting it straight from the fountain or glass bottles, I have noticed, gives the best flavor in my opinion.
I remember my parents driving me past the Osborne house during Christmas when I was a kid in the early to mid 90's. I remember the traffic being backed up, but everyone on the road was looking at the lights. I think my parents have an old home video somewhere taken on a huge VHS camcorder by my dad.

I think your the most famous/interesting guest so far. 👻
I saw them in 89 and 90 when I lived in Russellville, Ar. It was spactacular. Jennings Osborn was a very good and generous man. RIP Jennings.

That talk show was awesome! Love that kind of stuff.
I was privileged to see the lights one time and remember the fight to keep them.
We went to MGM every year to see them. We still have our ears that timed to the music and lights.
Love you Adam. I remember when you cut back on soda and drank water daily. Maybe go back to that! All that sugar is so bad for ya. From a friend
Always go for the can. No light, no loss of taste.
Tom Green..........now there is a flashback to 1999!!! He was so hilarious. "Undercutter Pizza" was one of my favorites.

Great video, Adam. Love for you to go on a Banyan's Adventure when your back in California. Oh yea, and dad says he taste the difference in Mountain Dew cans vs bottles. Your not alone!!
Freaking awesome! Thanks Adam.

I'm checking out the Spooky Talk Show now. Very cool!
Cheap Petrol, here or three times as expensive.
A nice story about Osborne family, their daughter Allison Brianne Osborne has not always been the impetus to illuminate the house.
You are spooky enough to be in the spooky Talk Show.
I can totally tell the difference between canned and bottled. To add a 3rd option, I like fountain the best!
It was nice seeing u hang out with other people.... it reminded me of your California days :) Those guys seemed really cool, too. Where can we see your interview at?
"The big cans taste like big cans! The small cans taste like small cans!" How willy wonka-esque of you lol
Very interesting with your journeys I learn something new every day , I originally thought the osborne lights had something to do with Ozzi Osborne family - lmao
It is so sad that these lovely big homes are not lived in. Even all the abandoned properties that you show in your vlogs are saddening 😥
That intro was classic I have passed it on to a couple guys I hang out with so now when we meet at the bar on Friday after work when we see each other we always say 'ITS THE DAILY WOOOOO !!!! "
Carry on my brother great job !!!!
You are so right about The Dew. Rock On Adam!!
The bearded Ed McMahon with a beer did the intro.
I don't drink! It was mountain dew, i promise!
Adam you had no idea that you are so photogenic.Rock on heir
Adam, you will be glad to know that all three of the former Osborne houses have been undergoing restoration.
They look much better now.
Jennings Osborne died a few years ago and due to poor financial planning, his wife and daughter lost the homes and everything
else they owned. Sad.
That's a Big Dam Mountain Dew!
The material a bottle or container is made out of affects the taste of the liquid in it, because a tiny trace amount of the material can get into the liquid. There was an old photographic printing process they were trying to replicate exactly years ago, and even though the followed the process exactly, it did not match exactly the old process. They discovered that originally the emulsion was mixed in copper bowls, and when they switched to copper bowls to mix their own batch, it matched what the old photos did, minus the age of course.
Sodas in glass bottles taste the best
fab4fan5 loved the bottled Mtn Dew as a kid....
Jermany Cooper
some Mexican stores sell it same with Coke and bottled is healthier than American 2 litters and cans... although its all total crap for health.
It's not Christmas without the Osborne Spectacle of Lights at MGM.
Cool Vlog and enjoyed watching! and facts,
Congrats on being on a show.
adam really love your travels
Another great vlog!
I wonder if you poured the Mt. Dew into a cup if you could tell the difference between bottled, canned, or 2-liter? I think the bottled tastes the best!
Adventures by George 1980's glass bottle Mtn.Dew= best memories
And to clarify... I mean the glass bottles!
There were some lights also given to Graceland - they have cut down on the ones they displayed but I saw it in the backyard when it is was in all of it's full glory = awesome
BTW WOO, love the do lately! And I ain't talkin about the "canned" beverage.
That story you told reminds me of the movie "Deck the Halls" with Danny DeVito. Does anyone else remember that? It wasn't he best movie but I remember the concept being hilarious, about 2 neighbors who competed to see who could have the best Christmas light show.
It's a shame to see those beautiful houses falling into disrepair...
Wow a talk show , now that you're famous don't let it go to your head .
Nice video Adam. I don't know what to do first, put the Christmas lights back up or go get some breakfast pizza😊
lots of love adam
