Because they want £6 a month for people to watch trash like The Kardashians.
But ITV is terrible now, either celebrity this or that, or crime dramas for old people. Literally nothing I'm interested in.

1.They don't show enough from the ITV archives, such as a lot of programmes a lot of people have forgotten about. Such as programmes going back to the 1970s/80s. Such as Full House (UK version), also for example, Time After Time with Brian Conley. I'd love to see Bottle Boys again! 😉
    2. Some of the Carry On films aren't HD. Well, they may not look HD because ITVX use far too much compression which is noticeable on virtually everything. It is the worst compressed streaming service I've ever come across. The compression needs to be the same as Netflix or Prime Video. Until something is done about that I'm sticking to DVDs/Blu-rays/Downloads. They shouldn't cut programmes like Bless This House either. Just put a notice up at the beginning. I prefer ITVs download service on Sky.

I agree I hope ITVX keeps on going I refuse to watch the main ITV1 channel because I think the channel is absolutely rubbish and I haven't watch ITV1 since 2018 I try to avoid the channel completely. I think ITV is run by people in management behind the scenes who don't understand the world of television or the entertainment industry and don't understand what audiences want to watch especially on prime time tv. Whenever I look at the tv listing for ITV1 I do so with a sinking feeling of dread for the channel because there is nothing worth tuning in for. If it hadn't been for soaps like Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Saturday night tv Ant and Dec I'm pretty sure ITV would have died as a channel, brand and company years ago. Even now there are signs of decline Helen Worth who plays Gail in Corrie is leaving the soap, I believe Ant and Dec are taking a break from the network. They tried out US quiz show Jeopardy earlier this year and that was an unmitigated failure I think getting Stephen Fry as quiz host was a mistake to me he sounded too posh and very dull. Not sure about Wheel of Fortune never watched it. It may have fared a bit better but I don't really think Graham Norton was the right host I think I read that the show was OK but need a new host. If I am going to watch a live ITV channel it would be ITV2 only for Family Guy and American Dad and occasionally Whenever Plebs is on. In my opinion I think ITV, the company, the brand and its programming needs a major over haul. Get rid of the management behind the scenes I they're destroying the whole ITV structure. Start with new on screen talent instead of the ones they've had for years they're becoming a bit stale and samey. Start putting money into making better shows people want to watch with better actors and on screen talent. Have less game and quiz shows with great drama and movies. Do that and I bet viewers will start watching the channel again. How they can recoup the money they've spent is getting more advertising and selling their shows to other broadcasters around the world.

i used to subscribe when it was 3.99pm but not when it went up, not enough new dramas to justify. Also interface is clunky even after all this time; it doesn't remember what you've watched previously so hard to keep track what's new and sporadically wont even remember what episode you're upto in a series. They need to look at their pricing and how much better other services interfaces are.

For every one good program on live as shown TV there are 99 shows that are repeated or that people only have on as they want some background noise. Live as shown TV is dying as people want to watch on demand and not at a set time of day as they used to up to the mid 2000's. I've got thousands of DVD's all bought second hand for between 95p and £11. The Unit was a good TV series on CH5 as was the carry on films, Ashes to ashes and Life on Mars, JAG and NCIS.

@@Tealstag789I am not surprised - this is the summer season, with parliament now due to end, and politics here in the UK at least will most likely take a short break - so News at Ten isn't exactly important for the late summer weeks.
