I played the original when it first came out and honestly it didn't interest me. Next one was Black Flag and man that game was AWESOME. After that I took a long hiatus until last year when I played Origins via game pass and that simply blew my mind. Definitely going to try Odyssey next

Muromachi era was in the medieval times in Japan. It's definitely going to be more like Odyssey. I know Nioh games are based in that timeline. I'm interested in the year they choose in the game.

If you want a cool Assassin's Creed in Japan but don't wanna wait that long then I recommend the game called Aragami and Aragami 2. Then games need more love IMO

I cannot wait for Red! (Especially after watching Shogun) My favorite installment so far is Odyssey, even though it seems to get a lot of hate. The world is beautiful and immersive, and I thought Kassandra was a great character.
Actually, the samurai is the male african samurai / refugee. The shinobi is the female and Japanese.

It doesn't make physiological sense fot the woman to be the samurai, they should've had her be the ninja. A woman outright clashing kitana with men is unreal, and it sounds dumb.

Nothing against strong female characters but I never heard of a female Shogan and pretty sure African males weren't walking around feudal Japan...so it's just not believable. So that is a big turn off. Love the Japan location. They need to rethink the character model.

the real Yasuke has hardly appeared in Japanese history.
He has had very little impact on Japanese history.
The only fact is that Nobunaga Oda had a black man named Yasuke as his retainer.
In Japan, people do not know about the existence of Yasuke until they are in high school.
At best, only a very small number of people who majored in Japanese history in college know about it.
This means that most of the stories related to Yasuke must be fictional and creative.
If you want a more realistic story, you all can request such fictional stories from Netflix.
There is very little information about him in Japanese historical sources.

It's weird as hell. It's like if we have AC in India but the protag is somehow an Indonesian dude. Could work, but hella weird and reeks of DEI. The setting is already in Japan, which is a non-white nation. Why still need DEI? If they ever make an AC Congo, the protag better be a Japanese man.

@@snowshock8958 AC was already great at diversity. For fuck sake, Altair was middle eastern, but he goes well with the setting. Middle East area, middle East protag. Egyptian setting, Egyptian MC. Now Japanese setting, African MC? Hope it's just rumours and not true. Still no East Asian MC for the main AC series. That's the representation we actually need.

This sounds like a very cool game and I will defently buy it. My favorite versions of the game have been Odyessy, Origins and even Vallhalla.

Sweet Baby Inc worked on this and I have Zero interest in playing as a black man in Medieval Japan. Therefore, hard pass. Edit: the story takes place a millennia before the real life Yasuke. So don't bring up that shit. It's just forced diversity in a setting where it does not belong. If you buy that trash, you're part of the problem.

From what I've been reading is that the female is the Shinobi with back story from Assassin's Creed Origins with Bayek.
The samurai is the African man, and the shinobi is the female we already seen a leak of what she looks like, why would they make the character thats based of Yusuke the African samurai a shinobi, there not, its already been leaked many times what character is what

As somebody who has trained in a lot of Japanese martial arts and weapons and learned the origins of weapons of the samurai. This storyline is an absolute slap in the face to all martial artists and people who have learned their arts

Splitting character gameplay would be good with me since I enjoyed it in Syndicate with Evie & Jacob, the Frye twins. Yes it would add to replayability too
The last really good Assassin's Creed was IV, although Assassin's Creed actually ended with Ezio's story
I love the Assassins Creed franchise. Valhalla I loved it as well. If i didn’t want to do side quests, I didn’t. $70 for all you got was amazing and graphically outstanding. Now I get to play as a samurai and my favorite, a NINJA as I wanted for so long.
It amazes me how Ubisoft and the Assassin's creed games are different and somehow the same as the other ones at the same time.

I love feudal japan, even the new shogun tv series as well. I'll wait for reviews of this game before buying but definitely interested.
My favorite is the Colt of Assassin's, East of the Woods.
The more leaks that come out the less interest I have, from the first time I found out that yasuke would be playable everything fell apart, and yes I know he was a real person but he was nothing relevant or important to the history of Japan I know many believe he was "legendary" but it's because of the misinformation that lately they spread around besides the anime, they had everything to make a decent AC again and they threw it away

Ubisoft is racist against asian men. They only decide now to do japan because there were a foreigner dude in the right time. Yasuke became mainstream after 2017-2020 because of his fictionalized stories. Pandering woke so it is.
And Yasuke was a thousand years after the events of the game. Forced diversity !

I never could get into assassin Creed games to me they just seemed boring and the reason I come up with that is because I just feel lost all the time and I actually like red dead in GTA and they are also open world games. I think Ubisoft needs to do a better job getting people involved in understanding what's going on. Especially at the beginning maybe they need to hold people's hands a little more for their style of development until people figure it out. I played Assassin Creed Valhalla and you had to free some of your people in a village held hostage I never could figure that part out. Best people are still hostages. 😁

This is the worst fucking way to do this. Syndicate was their worst game i didn't buy that one the only ac i didn't buy or play. I don't want to be locked into playing a shinobi.
It can take place at Walmart for all I care. I just want them to shift their combat design. The ac games feel like the type where you watch your character do things. It doesn’t feel like you’re the one controlling that character. Give it some weight please Ubisoft. Also, please don’t have a story. I think you guys are just…you know…stories aren’t for you.
