You can see the heartbreak of some looking at the board of who didnt make it.....before the everybody gets a trophy generation.....life is tough.....its tougher if you’re shielded from it, growing up....
I attended Kilgore College in 1970-71 I wasn't a Rangerette but my roomie was. Great little junior college and great group of kids then. I was a Flair Favorite 1971. I knew a couple of those girls in the pics. Denise Richards is one.
Tried out for this but injury prevented me from being able to high kick so that was the end of that dream. Yes you better believe hazing. But never when Miss Gussie Nell Davis was around, but I figured she had to know about it. It was like Mean Girls on steroids. They should have warned girls trying out that they needed to have several months under their belt of body conditioning and toning otherwise they will end up like me. I felt like I was in good shape but not when they start you out for hours every day. And yes, it is somewhat like a cult as you can see. Beauty knows no pain???
Hello, I was curious about using a few clips from this video for the nonprofit I work for. Could someone please reach out to me to discuss this? Thanks!
I noticed that too. I noticed a lot of drill team/cheerleading coaches have that 1 favorite who has been on the squad before who they know have great leadership skills. That girl definitely had great leadership skills to teach the newer ones. It's common.
Many Rangerettes were the core of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders....may still be....if you've seen any of the documentaries of making the Cowboys Cheerleaders squad, it's a grind too....

Actually, the girls competing are probably the generation of parents that started the "everyone gets a trophy" thing which just makes it funnier 😂
Love this! There is absolutely NO playin' when you're on a Texas dance team/kick line!
why does all the music in this sound POSITIVELY DEMONIC but the speech is fine

Wow, the hazing starting at 15:20 😳😳 I was there 25 years after this. So much was different, yet so much was the same.

Did the director have a crush on that blonde girl? She was 50% of the documentary!!

This so sexy and patriotic at the same time. God Bless beautiful young American women, Texas style.
You sound creepy as hell lmao
So many things in this video are more than a little cringe. Beauty knows no pain? Your belt is 2 inches tighter than your waist? Yikes.
Welcome to the south 😪 two big things in southern culture: dance teams and Greek life
well dang Lyndsae- These girls just trying to have fun and or really like the squad, no need to call the south cringe-
Found the feminist.....
It was 1973 sweetheart.....not sure what you were expecting....
