How does the Krieger messer compare in handling to other messers you've owned / tried? I'm currently looking for an affordable messer that I can use for club sparring vs. longswords so preferably nothing too fancy but primarily durable. Considering the Krieger M3 as well as the Poker Mattheus messer. Already have a couple VB messers but their wooden grip gets easily demolished vs. heavier weapons so I'm looking for something I can more ideally use for mixed weapon sparring.

The Matthaus Messer by Poker are durable as all hell, and have a good weight to them. I've handled the Shnorrer and would say it would probably keep up better, but I can't speak to the durability. My M1 snapped at the hilt against a basket hilted backsword, so the best I can say is that if the issues are fixed with the M3, I'd personally pick it. But if that isn't the case, then the poker is more than robust enough to contend, particularly the Matthaus.

If you had problems with the handle breaking, it will never happen here, because this material was invented that way. I am so sure that I give a handles lifetime guarantee. Nevertheless - if you want to know more about Krieger Messer, write message to me or Krieger social media and we'll talk. Kisses. :)

@@paulamanfredi792 the handling (fortunately) wasn't what broke. That material is damn near indestructible. The blade snapped above the guard. My friend moved the break down by removing material from the part of the tang close to the guard, and welding the two so it's reinforced by the grip.
