- Scout is my favourite casual trick taking game (or get rid of your cards game), ahead of Fuji Flush probably. It's fantastic. - Harmonies is the family game of the year no doubt, such an upgrade on Cascadia or Akropolis for example, it's so pleasant to manipulate, it takes 20-30mins maximum, which is shorter than the 2 aforementioned, the animal cards make each game different... The game I didn't know I needed.
Being Canadian, very familiar with Board Game Bliss. One thing to keep in mind is that Canadians get games later than American stores, by at least a month or two usually, and it can take quite a while for games to come back in stock. It can be really hard to get new releases in Canada. I don't think the new version of El Grande was crowdfunded. It probably just came back in stock.
Buggers I was about to order TE Dungeons plus expansion, and This Game Is Killer. Both dungeons' games sold out hours after I added them to the cart a few days ago. Dont think they had anything saying that they were low stock, lol
It’s the same around the world..either it hits Europe first or North America first..typically..the popularity in one location drives the rest..which is better for publishers for many reasons
Not aure what happened with El Grande on board game bliss, it was on my wishlist and there were lots of copies left. I was waiting to see a black friday sale and 2 days later it was out of stock... 😢
@@olivierjodoin2283 board game bliss can sell out of things very fast. I've seen new releases sell out the day it's put on the store. Part of it I think is you can have them hold an order so people just order a game here and there and then ship when they're past the free shipping threshold.
Funny, the top 10 at the store I work doesn't have a single overlap, except for Sky Team also being number two. Number one is Hitster and three is Sea salt and paper
Love this video idea, please continue it! I also think maybe the Lord of the Rings game may fit better in the Reprint category. What does everyone else think?
Hey Mr Vassel.. I re-skined the sky team (for solo) mode into a tie fighter game ..where you are trying clear the rebel chum outta sky ..would that theme work for you? 😅
El Grande is a great game. The only problem with the new version of El Grande is it’s such a visual mess. The meeples matching the region colors on the board makes the game really annoying for me to parse. It actually gives me a headache trying to play it. Hopefully when it gets reprinted 10 years down the line they actually attempt to fix the art on it finally! Honestly as outdated as the original or decennial version are, they still look better than the recent reprint.
Find it a bit odd how yourselves & BoardGameGeek don’t rate Harmonies all that highly & see it as just a non-taxing ‘zen’ game - whereas for most, I’d say, it’s quite a crunchy puzzle in which the best way to win is to use tokens for more than one habitat each & for formations. Think maybe you’ll be revisiting this game before too long, cos it does seem to be very under your ‘radar’. BTW, yeah, liking this idea of a monthly bestsellers review. Think you’ll find this game is still up there next month, mind! 😂
@ Well, Mike reckoned it was ‘mediocre’ & you guys describe it here as a relaxing ‘zen’ kinda game, whereas I’d say there’s a lot more to it than that. 🥵
Black Forest is great in my opinion, lives up to the expectation for a big-box Uwe. It’s like a hybrid between Glass Road, Caverna, and Ora et Labora but elements it has from each were improved and it still has a unique feeling.
I agree the Gang is a 5 or 6 at best. IDK why everyone raves about it. It takes all the fun out of standard poker (betting/raising). Maybe if they come up with a betting variant it could be fun. Right now it feels like everyone that loves the Crew is migrating to the Gang as it's so similar. Also IDK why Sky Team is so high. Whats with all these coop games that you cant talk being so hot??? I guess board gamers hate anything competitive... and talking?
Yeah, it looks a bit boring to me. I'd play it once at least. The number one selling game on there is a direct head to head competitive game, probably sold more than the co-ops on this list combined
Rebel Princess is FANTASTIC! How has Tom not played this yet?!
I like this version of thr show better
I like the music
About 1 million times better chemistry, that’s for sure.

And yet.. they always get my kickstarter games before me XD

Tom should play Rebel Princess, it’s great!
Played Black Forest over the weekend. Was lots of fun. 90ish min was pretty accurate, and wasn't that heavy. Great game, recommend!!
This new reprint of El Grande went out of stock in at least North America several months back and I believe it’s still out of stock in US stores.
I like this. Thanks Tom and Zee!
Absolutely love that Beatles intro.
RIP The Gang designer Kory Heath :(
good show, thanks
I would think BGB's best selling games are limited by inventory?

Much better.
that's a weird foundation of rome box you have behind you guys. What is it ?
It's just a picture, not the actual box.
@@thedicetower ooow ... that's a nice one ! I like it
Rebel Princess is so much fun! I don’t like hearts either!!
I like this
What about some journalling cozy rpgs?

The giant slideshow on the BGB front page is quite obnoxious. Sorry to being blunt, love the store none the less.
Slight nerdy correction Catan won in 1995 and El Grande won in 1996
El Grande is still a great game.

The fact that we both enjoyed the game means it's under our radar? I don't think that meshes.

How good is The Gang? Maybe lots of sales being generated because of a $14 (so I heard) price tag.
I think it's overpriced.
