Only ten minutes into this video and there's one thing I really like about this format. They've done other cooking contests before, but I like how they're not focusing on one team at a time. They go back and forth between contestants, as if they were all cooking at the same time. It feels much more fluid, it moves the story forward faster. And I don't feel like I'm missing anything. *thumbs up*

It might depend on where you fall in the millennial generation, too. We’re more divided than most generations because the older part of the generation had an analog childhood and a digital adulthood. It’s harder to relate to the ones born later or vice versa. Josh, I am a Boomer and my little brother a Gen X. We just manage to straddle that divide. He also built Pinewood Derby cars for Cub Scouts. It has been going on at least that long. I think an award for the most Cub Scout created entry is awesome. SOOOO many fathers did all the work while the kid watched. That was not the point. My dad and brother worked together. It was not the best but it was the most true to the spirit.

I always associated gen X with giving participation trophies, but maybe that's cuz my mom is younger than most. It would make sense to me that their generation has such middle child energy that they would put in extra effort to try to make their kids feel special.

My husband never met his dad, and his stepdad... calling him a turd would be an insult to turds.
But for the pinewood derby, his grandpa helped him.
His grandpa is now 92 and still a woodworker as much as his body will let him. And also a certified gem of a human.
I wish grandpa gordy couldve helped Josh with his car. I know it's not the same, but i bet grandpa gordy wouldve taught josh to make a vodka martini at an uncomfortably early age and thats worth something.
