I have a picture of me holding up her second album in my hands on my 15th birthday with the most ecstatic look on my face. That second album really pulled me through some rough days during that period. I went through different phases during each album release. Like her third album with Girlfriend came out a couple months before I turned 18 and I had barely started driving

I like this production a lot more. Even with slower tempo and less instrumentation it's more intense.
She could also make a 3rd version with more electronics to move even further away from traditional rock and I would be really happy 😀
Every now and then, I take a trip down memory lane with Avril's music. Her music is good as the days they were released.
Such an incredible artist. There's nobody close to her in music. Her acoustic versions of her songs are always so magnificent. Voice of an angel and looks absolutely beautiful as always.
It's crazy how 17 years ago she was the artist I picked to listen to while learning english, reading out the lyrics in the Cd's covers and now I can listen to her new songs and get everything she's saying and feel the feelings...And she still as beautiful as she always has...

I know... I'm 35 years old and pretty open to ANY music as long as my heart vibrates for it. And I agree with you. NOBODY else can do music like her. I've heard a couple of copycats that I wont name here.. But no, she makes me feel strong emotions and her voice... Her voice has never been that sweet and strong at the same time. And it seems she masters it way better now.
She did say she herself feels like her vocals were even stronger than before after her recover from Lyme. Haha maybe its because she didnt use it that much for 2 years ? Idc, but man.. Her live performances are SO GOOD. Especially the intimate one where she sits down and focus on the singing.

Only Avril can turn a rock song into a ballad acoustic masterpiece. Wow!
People keep commenting on how she looks the same but part of it is obviously make-up and another part likely due to the fact (if I remember correctly back then) she was huge on eating "good" or "clean" foods and this was before all the trending diet bs started to blow up with people wasting time and money jumping from trend to trend that we see all to often now. To some degree I think food is indeed food but if all you eat is fast food, drink soda etc there is some degree of accelerated aging in theory next to someone eating and drinking plenty of antioxidant rich foods. With that as well she has always been a smaller person and likely doesn't eat as much and studies have shown that lower caloric intake leads to slower aging as well and I don't know why that is but it could also stem from the more food being ingested taking a more oxidative toll specially if those foods don't contain antioxidant compounds, could also be too that if you're always eating your body is busy using energy to make energy instead of more efficiently focusing on rebuilding tissues and the like. People keep assuming me to be between 20 and 24 though I'm 34. Funnily enough though I've noticed people that seem to age slower will hit that wall where they seem to rapidly start looking older instead of the constant but gradual aging. Then you have the people drinking and doing whatever drugs they can get ahold of an a 20 year old can look like they're 60.

@@annefdennis Not that young, she's 37 so not far off being classified middle-aged in numerical terms but I guess Avril is a great example of age just being a number as she looks at least 15 years younger then her actual age.
I love Avril's voice and punky character, but her youthfullness is not a miracle: it's money invested in surgery. She has clearly had a rhinoplasty and already a few botox injections (nasolabial folds and forehead).
Add a professional hairdresser and make-up and you have the recipe for young beauty... for some decades.
