I totally agree, Finan got most of the spotlight out of Uhtred's crew, and he was the biggest emotional support for him, he is one of my favourites. But still, Sihtric is my true favourite. I wish he had got a little more spotlight, but I was still really happy with his character development through the seasons. Finan was Uhtred's right hand, but Sihtric was always his left. My favourite scene from this show is probably when Sihtric reunite with the others in season 3 episode 7 after his "betrayal". I was so happy in that moment, when they hugged each other with Uhtred. It really showed how important Sihtric is for him, and when Uhtred said "you have never failed me Sihtric", he finally got the amount of recognition that he deserved. This was a perfect finale, although I think some of the most important people were missing in the final highlights. For example Sihtric, Osferth, Eadith or Pyrlig. But beside this, I was really happy and satisfied with how this show has ended.
Absolute perfection of a TV show. Very, very, few shows attain the level of quality this one did let alone maintain that quality from beginning to end.
I think it has its ups and downs, season 1 is clearly the best to me, felt more grounded, Uthred was more impulsive and flawed, the action was more creative and realistic, the color grading looked more natural, and the music was consistently great, in the latest seasons they overuse some heavily digitalised soundtracks, the performances were better in the first season too, and there was less use of digital blood splatter. Season 1 is solid good, the rest of the series is pretty good.
The Last Kingdom's final episode is like going through a breakup where you still love her but know it is done. I fell in love of this show and it will forever be in my heart!
@@indianspartan76 From that episode, Hild: "Uhtred, she is gone. She's given you a son, but she is gone". And there's a nurse behind her holding the baby.
Glad you guys pumped out the season 5 reactions in time to properly react to the film. I just finished watching, and wow, what a journey from start to finish. They killed it with this show. I picked it up when there were only 3 seasons released, and it been a banger all the way through (including the movie). Such an underrated series.
What a journey!!!😭😭 The last kingdom is definitely my all-time favorite show. The story, the casts, the chemistry, the music, the settings... everything was just perfect, and I enjoyed your reactions as much as the show itself! Thank you for the amazing videos❤
This is my 2nd favorite show of all time. So happy to have watched this show with you both again. I loved reliving the emotions I felt when I first saw it. Thanks for taking us along with you. Oh and loved the recap of him thinking back on all his loved ones. It was so well done!!!
The smiles on your faces toward the end is telling and I'm so happy to hear your satisfaction with the show in general. It really was a story of interpersonal relationships, the camaraderie and the passion of beliefs. The music by John Lunn and Eivor was beautiful - the ambience made the fictional history so vivid. I live in the heart of Wessex and reading of Uhtred's adventures that took place literally in my home town and among sites that I visit regularly is surreal to the say the least. Drastically different vibes from your reactions for the GoT finale....speaking of which, they've greenlit another show from Westeros. Hopefully one day they'll do a reboot of GoT, call it 'A Song Of Ice and Fire' and include ALL the main threads of the books, assuming Mr Martin finishes 'Winds of Winter' (may get a release this year/early next year) and 'A Dream of Spring'.
Absolutely LOVED this series! Woke up this morning and watched Seven Kings Must Die and the only thing I could say about it was it's amazing!! Sad to see this journey come to an end but oh what a fun ride it's been, thank you for these awesome reactions!
Today I shed a tear. I have been looking forward to a weekly episode (lately two or more THANK YOU), but now our watch has ended. Thank you so much for the entertaining content you provide so often. Peace and love all
Omg this was such a journey. Nikki’s reaction as the fortress began to burn was exactly like mine. The relief of the rain was so perfect. My brother likes to joke that the alternative title for The Last Kingdom is ‘Uhtred Gets Screwed’ lol and it was so damn satisfying that just once he gets to screw Edward. Perfect ending & All the love for Hilde.
Just watched the movie. I'm absolutely speechless how beautiful and amazing it is. For me this show tops vikings and is in my top 3 shows I've ever seen. You two need to come to England and visit the Real bebbanburg castle!!!. It remains in great condition to this day. DESTINY IS ALL
"There is a lot more liquid this season" LOL OMG I was drinking a coffee and Nikki almost made me choke to death LOL. To see Alfred's Wife come full circle to team Uhtred was one of the best characters arcs of this series. The son of Uhtred and Gizela was hidden after her death.
I would have never watched this show if it wasn't for you folks. I've now watched every episode on Netflix and I'm glad I did. I can't wait for the movie; it will be epic. Cheers!
I love GoT but I genuinely enjoyed this show more than GoT and it’s not because the shitty ending. Like i think the reason why this show is perfect is because they don’t have the budget of GoT and so all they relied on was the amazing cast and the WRITING and let alone the fact that they adapted 2 books each season which is why it’s never boring, something a lot of shows struggles with. So this show is genuinely underrated and should be loved more.
I wanted to say thank you to both of you for allowing me to share this experience with you. Such a good series, on every level. Can't wait to find our next one
For me "Black Sails" and "The Last Kingdom" are the perfect examples of how to magnificently end a brilliantly written story from beginning to end, both series were like the crest of the wave that starts from less to more until it breaks violently on the shore spectacularly. Thank you very much guys for your video reactions that made us relive the wonderful moments we spent enjoying these masterpieces.

I love the montage at the end though I am a little salty they didn't include Osferth in it. He was with Uhtred since season 2 so it was a little weird to me they didn't include him.
I mean, this is how you do it. What a finale. What a show. The development of Uhtreds character from an inexperienced, reckless young warrior to one who has experienced suffering and pain, being sold as a slave, seeing loved ones come and go. Oh man the best character development I've seen by far. Finally, after all that he's been through he has now become Uhtred, Lord of Bebbanburg. Destiny is all ⚔️
Way better shows than Vikings show. Vikings was still good...but I felt this shows was just more grounded. I felt everything that was at stake. I felt torn Morally, I felt selfishly loyal. I felt Bias. I felt selflessness.
Vikings was great for seasons 1-4 but seasons 5&6 were really shit and it ended just very mediocre and pretty forgettable. TLK has been consistent for 5 seasons and definitely better than Vikings.
@@mijanhoque1740 Were seasons 4 and 5 of The Last Kingdom similar to the level of seasons 1 and 2, or even 3? Not in my opinion. The drop off began in 3 because they started heavily diverging from the books, but it still had some of the best moments/highs of the show, especially with Alfred/David Dawson. Seasons 4 and 5 are a clear drop off to the earlier seasons of The Last Kingdom.

⚔ REWATCH is the cure for missing Uhtred and the rest of the gang, LOL! Seriously, I have re-watched the entire show a few times, and I think it has to do with the sense of honor that is carried throughout. Uhtred acts and makes decisions with a sense of honor and how he interprets right and wrong in a given situation. The guys in his crew do the same. There's not enough of that in the world these days, so I think that's part of what draws many to Uhtred's character. It's been really heartwarming to watch this brilliant series with you two 🙏 It had so many compelling and standout characters, all with their unique journeys and development. It made you care that much more about their stories. Can't wait to watch the movie
Fun fact, you can actually stay overnight at Babbenburgh. It is called Bamburgh castle. They have an exhibition with custumes and props of this series. Loved your reactions❤
Just a fantastic show, great writing and performances all the way through and have loved your guys reactions. When it comes to Edward, his story is ultimately that he just wasn’t the ruler/man that Alfred was, and forever was in his father’s shadow, and this made him far more ruthless and bitter than Alfred ever was (as you noted, I feel like every part of Edward wanted Uthred dead in that last scene with him).
Yeah but in reality Edward was a great king and this was his crowning achievement..I really don't know why his character was completely changed..Boggles my mind
@@markmorris7123 yeah, Edward the Elder he was called, and he was definitely a badass, much like Alfred. I think he kinda gets forgotten in history somewhat as well, due to the accomplishments of his father and his son Athelstan, but Edward held things down and beat the Danes several times during his reign.
Thank you Nikki and Steven for watching this series. It is also in my top 5. I truly enjoyed taking this journey with you. Can't wait for your video on the movie. Destiny is All!! Aloha

The flashbacks at the end are perfect. It made so sad somehow. I'm not sure Uthred is feeling only happiness at the end. He got what he wanted all along, but so many people died along the way. Was it worth it? I'm not so sure.
Mom and I watched every single episode of The Last Kingdom together on Netflix and we both LOVE this show to pieces!!! We've rewatched it sooo many times because we both love it that much!!!! We both love lots of the same tv shows and I would always wait for her to get off work before I continued watching whatever show we were binge watching.
Whew!!! I would have never checked out this show if it weren’t for you guys! I loved every single episode!! Gosh Uhtred thinking about his life and everyone he lost had me bawling!! This show pulled out every emotion and then some. I’ll be rewatching after I finish the movie lol. And I’ll be watching with my new Uhtred Funko Pop 😍
It's kinda funny every time edward takes time to think everybody says he is a coward but when Edward makes quick decisions and he's impatient. It's like he can't win🤷🏿♂️.
@@NikkiStevenReact I know that Brother, but as far a nick names go pretty sweet. I'm along for the ride on Reacher too, a great show. Big love from Dublin.
I've put the film off very temporarily so I could get this last reaction in. I read the books a Decade a go, blew me away. Loved the series and am excited about the film and it has been a joy watching you experience it. You got all the things and the feels. In the books Utred, Son of Utred, who was also Son of Utred narrated the whole thing as the memories of of an elder man from his bed in his castle. Not knowing his destiny in the series had its place and they did it well, but his narration throughout the books had its own special charms and giggles. I encourage you to read the books, and more by Brian Cornwell. Maybe one day check out the televised version of the Sharpe series starring Sean bean, excellent stuff. Innannyways, your reactions to this was a joy to follow.
Bebbanburg is OPEN RIGHT NOW for visitation though 😭. I wish you guys could go, heck I wish I could go 😂 They also partnered with the show so they have a bunch of TLK stuff there on display like, some of Uhtred's costumes, Alfred's throne, Uhtred's sword, Skade's costume etc
Thank you for watching this. It’s one of the best shows of all time, my personal GOAT because it finished better than a few of my other favourites (GoT, Vikings etc). It’s so underrated. Hope it gets serious traction after the film.
Been a while since I watched last kingdom, so wasn't too emotional, felt the film was too rushed, would have been a great final season but ye still good

This reaction series has been a great way to prepare me for the film as I finished the show last year, thank you for the journey.
It's been really heartwarming to watch this brilliant series with you two 🙏
It had so many compelling and standout characters, all with their unique journeys and development.
@@dukedude7460I mean, he still defeated the Danes several times in the show. He just also was a dick
Thank you Nikki and Steven for watching this series. It is also in my top 5. I truly enjoyed taking this journey with you. Can't wait for your video on the movie. Destiny is All!! Aloha
Glad we got to go on this journey with you guys. I’ve watched this show 3 times from start to finish and it’s easily my favorite epic drama of all time.
Just saw the movie this morning, it’s absolutely epic, can’t wait for y’all’s reaction
I just watched Seven Kings Must Die - it definitely could have been an entire season but it was really good, I cried so hard 😂
Grew up with finans cousins when I was 17-22 but never started watching last kingdom until I lost contact with them, but it’s still funny hearing finan with an Irish accent (he’s Scottish)
Luck you 😯
That rain was definitely send by Beocca
I'm so glad I got to rewatch this amazing show with you. I think it was an amazing ending. It was so emotional.
Took me a week to get through this playlist, but thank you so much for reacting to it. One of the greatest shows ever.
Wow! Good planning, Steven. As usual.
This finale is my favorite "finale" (but not really, right, with today's movie) than I've ever seen.
Awesome journey, guys.
Loved sharing this journey with you, I smiled at every reaction and thought you haven't seen anything yet wait till the next episode. I literally laughed with you and cried with you re visiting this awesome underrated shows, for me it is no 1 and can't wait to see your reaction to the film.
28:25 I love how when Witgah is like "kill me and your son will end up killing you. Thats traditional like", Utred basically goes "(scoff) LoL. What? No it isn't" and yeets his usurper ass over the railing.
Thoroughly enjoyed this journey with you guys. Catch you with the movie and hopefully something new in the future. All the best Nikki and Steven!
Just watched the movie, and came here for your reaction to the last episode. You're going to LOVE the movie though
But just want to thank you for going on this amazing journey with Uhtred Ragnarsson aka Uhtred son of Uhtred
I fell in love with TLK when it aired on the BBC. And it's been so fun to re visit this show with you! I have to say Leofrich was my fave wingman.
Facts, I really wish he lasted longer. It would've been cool if he was part of Uhtred's crew laughing with Finan and Sitrich.
Such an amazing show. It was so fun going on this adventure with you guys! Thanks for the content!
The amount of chills I get anytime Eivør sings is insane. This TV series is SO underrated, love "The Last Kingdom" and I am so glad you guys to experience this journey.
Also, I can't wait to see you guys react to the movie "The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die" because it definitely won't disappoint you.
Ah we’re here! Lets goo arselingss!
Just want to say its been a pleasure watching this show along with you! Just watched the film today and wow. I was buzzing when I saw you started the last kingdom and its defo top 3 shows I've ever seen 👌
Thank you guys for this amazing reaction journey these past 6 months! When you started i was sure that you gonna love it by the end and it's good to see that it won a spot in your top5! 👍
Can't wait for the live watch party on Sunday night!
Watching this and then going to watch the movie. Great timing
Love you guys! Was brilliant to watch this series again with you both
I know from the beginning that this show would be one of your favorites
The flashbacks at the end are perfect. It made so sad somehow. I'm not sure Uthred is feeling only happiness at the end. He got what he wanted all along, but so many people died along the way. Was it worth it? I'm not so sure.
Thank you both for a GREAT Last Kingdom journey. Did GoT and Vikings with you guys and now this. Loved it all.
Perfect timing, right before I am about to watch the Last Kingdom movie!
Movie? What is everyone talking about? I keep hearing about a movie.
@@apolloaegletes7116 7 kings must die it came out on Netflix today and is all related to this and basically ends the story of everything
OH Hell yeah! I'm looking it up right now....super excited! Good timing too, thank you both so incredibly much for the info 💯💯💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯💯
Dad and Daughter Moment YES !
Definitely one of the most consistent react channels out there!🔥 KEEP IT UP GUYS!❤️💪
Can't we have more seasons of Uhtred & his band of brothers on other adventures in-between TLK
The way Nikki said "I hate that part" had me wondering how often she goes round ramming castle gates. 😂
It's kinda funny every time edward takes time to think everybody says he is a coward but when Edward makes quick decisions and he's impatient. It's like he can't win🤷🏿♂️.
fr these two gave so much sht to Edward for no reason
One of my favorite medieval themed shows after Vikings & GoT 😍
And with best ending .
True, definitely better than GoT cause that ending was a disaster. I liked the end in Vikings as well tho.
Amazing finale to an amazing show! Glad I could spend my rewatch with you guys. Destiny Is All!
After watching Steven not shed a tear once in all those seasons he shall now be referred to as "Stone Cold Steve Arseling", I have spoken!
i got very emotional during this show, just no tears
@@NikkiStevenReact I know that Brother, but as far a nick names go pretty sweet. I'm along for the ride on Reacher too, a great show. Big love from Dublin.
Stone Cole is GOAT so I’ll take it
The last episode on the day the movie premieres. Destiny is all!!!!!
Love when a plan comes together
Im glad you said that about Vikings. I agree entirely that this show slaughters Vikings
I wish you guys could go, heck I wish I could go 😂
They also partnered with the show so they have a bunch of TLK stuff there on display like, some of Uhtred's costumes, Alfred's throne, Uhtred's sword, Skade's costume etc
I have a piece of the castle
Such an amazing show
Thank you for watching this. It’s one of the best shows of all time, my personal GOAT because it finished better than a few of my other favourites (GoT, Vikings etc). It’s so underrated. Hope it gets serious traction after the film.
Who else cried at the end of Seven Kings? I haven't cried like this since 12 Years a Slave.
What a shot
i was in pieces
Been a while since I watched last kingdom, so wasn't too emotional, felt the film was too rushed, would have been a great final season but ye still good
dude i was literally BALLING, like hysterically.
EASILY The top three shows for me.
That last flash back scene, I'm a puzzle of emotions and I cannot WAIT for this movie or today 💯
Such an amazing show just incredible!!! Can't wait for the movie!!!
Wow! You finished right in time for the movie this weekend. That’s awesome!
Have really enjoyed this journey from start to finish with you guys!
This episode is amazing! I've watched it multiple times and it gets me every time, even knowing what's coming.
I couldn't wait until Sunday to watch the movie and all I'm gonna say is Nikki have the tissues ready. It is awesome!🔥 There are a couple things I wish they would of done though.
33:45
That's the last baby Gisla gave birth to before she died.
The last kingdom is definitely one of the best series and in my top 5 favorite shows of all time. Can't wait for tonight to see Seven Kings Must Die.
i started watch your TLK reaction from day one and never missed any reaction video Although I watched the show a while ago
big love from 🇸🇦
