Andy- not sure if I am more impressed by the saw, the lift table, or your enthusiasm at having your son working with you. So happy for you that everything seems to be coming together for you and your business. Upgraded kit, “new” helper, and expanded shop. Looking good sir.
Looking great all these new machines will be awesome for use. Glad to see the smile back again you deserve all of it and more all the best Andy and Will
Aaaahhhh……there it is! 😂😂😂 the new big machine! That’s a beautiful machine! Makes me even more anxious for mine to get here. I have a Felder that is stuck on a container ship out in the Pacific Ocean. Already 6 weeks late. Hopefully it will be here soon. Thx for the video.
gratulation zu den neuen Maschinen, sind echt toll.... finde deine Videos einfach Spitze... die Outtakes sind weltklasse... schöne Grüße aus Österreich/Austria
Great video! Yes, please do a video on comparing the FAT300 to the new FAT500. Good luck with your new shop. Thanks for taking the time to share your videos - really appreciate it.
Wow Andy really nices machinery your workshop looks very nices I am glad that things have gone back to how they where for u it's looking very nice the workshop and the machinery. I hope u and your family have a great Christmas and a happy new year 🎉 I can't wait to see you 2022 new video more stuff as well.
Nice machine. We have the older version in the workshop and are very satisfied. The Altendorf company is only fifteen km away from us. Greeting a Zimmermann from Schamburg
@@ManorWood That is also my (like many others) hope. So far I have been to the Altendorf exhibition with new but also very old historical machines. Still great projects.
Congratulations on the new Altendorf! I'm green with envy. That's a seriously sweet machine. I've been waffling for some time among a Format 4 Kappa 400 (Felder), a Martin Machine T65, and an Altendorf F45. A slider is a real game changer for someone like me whose been running traditional American cabinet saws for years (though I do break down panels with a Festool track saw). Alas, sticker shock! Even the Robland, Hammer, and SCMI cost a pretty penny. Every time I get close to making a decision, I think of the enormous cash outlay, and I get a terrible case of cold feet.
Man, that is one sweet panel saw, I almost expected it to crank out a cappuccino and a donut for you as well.😉 That was a good job scored through the company to commission you for the office table too👌🏽 Things are looking really good and coming along at a steady pace. Loved the out takes, need more of them.👍🏽
The F45 looks like a beautiful saw. One question: how close can you get the flip stop on the squaring fence to the blade. It looks like there's a handle to right of the flip stop itself, and so perhaps one cannot get in tight against the blade for narrow cuts?
That's one amazing upgrade in any and every way, congratulations! It's so cool and inspiring to see how you've grown since you first started on RUclips, have a wonderful Christmas and may the new year bring you nothing but good :)
Hi i love your workshop that panel saw is a beauty.I own a felder AD741 planer thicknesser its great to use. Manor wood have you seen the panto router.?
Looks great. CNC saw fence is so awesome it save so much time from the "nudge technique" you will never want to go back. Not sure if Altendorf is the same but be careful when switching from high to low fence, you might need to push the fence button, not that I ever forgotten that and cut wrong. ;) Might I ask roughly how much the machine cost would be great for when looking for which manufacturer to choose in the future. Thanks. Also looking forward to see the new shop. Have a great Christmas/holidays.
Funny you should say about the fence, I cut some MDF for a friend and without thinking change the fence from the high to the low didn’t even think about adjusting pressing anything, The next morning when I switched it back for a different task I thought oh my God have I cut the wrong measurement but luckily the Saw are just self automatically soon as you move the fence
Hi I'm new to your channel but not the Altendorf name. You have the RR of panel saws. The red light over the scoring blade is definitely a big safety feature. Looking forward to following. Tony
@@ManorWood I saw a video on Felder's channel talking about their diamond blades. The thing that really impressed me was how smooth the cut is. Looks like almost zero runout, can hardly see any saw marks. ruclips.net/video/of4v9VEf7PQ/видео.html
Hi Andy, how's the saw so far? I need a proper panel saw pretty bad and a brand new F45 like yours might be an option. Did you check out Martin at the time or did you just go straight for an Altendorf?
I use an older generation of an Altendorf saw like this, it's good but it's not as perfect as you say. The saw is calibrated to expect an exactly 1/8" saw kerf, so when you send your blades out to get sharpened you have to take carbide loss into account. I suppose it's not an issue if you're the only one operating the saw, but we have 10 cabinet makers and probably over 40 saw blades that get constantly changed and sharpened. It's a lovely saw but realistically it only offers convenience, not accuracy.
Not sure I used the word perfect ? But since I bought it it’s change the way I work . I will share more videos soon on how and why . I guess most this will need a re cal if cutter wear or you change a blade ? Or is the a saw which auto re cals? I changed the rip fence from high to low and forgot to check , but the saw know and sorted it without me doing anything
Great video & an amazing saw. can I ask your advice on something? I've just bought the Robland fZ300 as my first panel saw. I'm struggling with ripping wider panels. Say I put a clean edge on the board & I want 2 cuts at 550mm I can bump & cut the first one. However the second cut will be unsupported by the sliding carriage. Is the only solution to stand at the back & handle it like a table saw? As this makes the sliding carriage redundant. Any advice would be appreciated.
That’s a question lots of people ask me, I just prefer them , i’m not saying there’s anything wrong with the Felder saw and I’m sure they have some amazing features as all there Machines do. I was at a trade show many years ago didn’t cut with them but just looked around all the different saws for me the altendorf just felt better there sliding table is so simple and well made.
Would have been nice if you would have flipped a piece of that crosscut over to see how well the scoring blade actually worked as that yellow pine faced is really brittle .
That looks like a really nice saw! To be honest i was expecting a felder saw, i believe you teased something about the saw some time back. What made you go for this saw over a top of the line felder? Can't wait to see more of the machines!
I love Felder machinery, but my old Altendorf WA6 saw was so nice to use , I had a demo of the F45 and for me it’s epic and feels so simple . Stay tuned for loads more background on the machine choice over the coming months
Im kind of surprised with the altendorf, I had expected a high end format 4. I completely understand though with all the features that this saw come with.
Amazing machine...this is really a great working equipment. Would you mind sharing how I can get one of this at my location at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada and what the budget is like.
you look happy bro;-) but fire sure puts a new spin on everything eh;-) am in the midst of the same thing, my home i just finished over a 7 year period burnt to the ground. Thank god for insurance and for surrender. We have one but the blade is creeping out of vertical. It has done quite some years service but it seems like it should be an easy fix for an experienced user? Anyone here?

I can’t remember the exact price, but if you speak to Gez @ RJM , he’ll will sort you a quote for the spec you need

beautyful saw!!!!
The F45 is the best table saw in the world
felder table saw or altendorf which is best ?
Does Altendorf offer diamond blades like Felder? I love the idea of a blade that just stays sharp pretty much forever.

Dam , I did do a test cut and forgot to add it the the video .. I will very soon on the next F45 in depth cheers Andy
Happy to see a real saw on a YT channel. Kinda fed up with all the US channels and their flimsy/baby Powermatics, SawStops, etc. 😁
Hi Andy do you need to calibrate the panel saw every time you get a saw sharpened?
I haven’t thought about that , I guess I’d the blade is re tipped it would be ok 3.2mm. It’s very easy to tweak the and adjust
