- Symphonic Live is a DVD and live album recorded at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam on 22 November 2001 with the European Festival Orchestra conducted by Wilheilm Keitel. It was first released on DVD in 2002 and on CD in 2003 and 2009 by Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Pop music and for me Yes learn that for me...Music is a big travel...inside and personnal travel which is different for every-one....that's the beauty of YES MESSAGE....always Close to the Edge!!

This gig looked awesome and I envy those who were lucky enough to be there. Jon never sounded in better voice. The band and their music work so well with the orchestra (especially, I think, on the song 'In the Presence of'). Beautiful and timeless music.

I bought this on 8 track when I was 14 years old....as I have gotten older I appreciate the beauty of Tales of Topographic Oceans......this piece brings pure joy to my heart as I think of my beautiful grandson holding him in my arms as he is not 2 years old. He has the beautiful kind spirit told through the sounds we hear here.....

Here is a perfect example of the imperfection of language. "We love when we play" could mean that they just love to play. It also could mean that when they are playing, it is an act of love upon their audience. How do you all look at it?
Nous sommes du soleil in French means "We are of the Sun". To me that doesn't fit in with this song at all. Somebody please comment on this if you know more than I do. If I could ever meet John Anderson, this is one of the first questions I would ask him.

Steve Hill While the liner notes indicated the translation was indeed "We are of the sun" it also included in parenthesis (We can see). The "ritual" is clearly involving intimate relations. However some.. I hope most here do indeed just love when they play(musically). For translations of insults, I suggest urban dictionary. And a flame war.. attached to a musical piece such as this?

Speaking of alcohol, I have been a professional musician almost all my adult life, (I am currently 54 years old) and I have studied and written about the benefits of alcohol to the musician. Scientific studies are now proving that alcohol enhances your creativity. I think it is fascinating.

Difficult to listen to. I bought 'Tales' when released & tried & tried to like it. It's words and instruments but not songs
I had the same original response. All I can say is to keep at it. It will reward you like no other album.
