Myrkul and Ketheric's necromite spawns both have a cap. So reaching that at 100 something rounds of combat sounds about right. Also fantastic combination with the aura of muder and stormy clamour boots. I was feeling very gigabrain when I figured it out, but then you explained it lol. Another thing that does something very similar is the hammerhaft with fly. Anytime you fly a little bit and land, it does a thunder boom. I have been using that to remove Orin's unstoppables. Very fun video, it's always nice to see your content.
Funniest thing is, True Strike was buffed in BG3. In 5e, True Strike only applies to Weapon attack rolls. Edit: I was wrong, but I blame it on XP to Level 3’s video Useless Spells where they claim that it has to be with a weapon
"On your next turn, you gain advantage on your first attack roll against the target, provided that this spell hasn't ended." It is not limited to just weapon attack rolls. In fact, one of the only useful ways to use True Strike in 5e is to be a sorcerer who casts True Strike before quickening a spell that has an attack roll, since it can potentially save a high level spell slot.
Lol at trying to get actual 5e information from XPto level 3 If you watch their actual play stuff you immediately find they never actually use the rules and barely play dnd anyway
That was absolute-ly incredible to watch. I like to recreate interesting ideas I see from good videos but I can confidently say I will never be trying this at home.
Arcane ward was my favorite spell from Gale, next to Counterspell/Fireball. And the fact you can give it to other characters as a reaction- i was literally just shielding people for 30-40 damage instantly.
2 lvls of warlock , armor of agathys and bladeward might make this funnier, no spell cost for mage armor so you can get more stacks of arcane ward also a concentration spell of anykind would draw aggro to yourself
at the inquisitor, the blood of lathander area connected to it allows you to go to camp even once you've angered the creche. you can hide a person in there as your backup plan.
19:31 this whole video in a nutshell: "I Just need to outlast Myrkul." Myrkul, the lord of bones? God of death, decay and exhaustion? That Myrkul? Well, Ok then.
One thing I like about BG3 true strike is being a trick spell, you can use it freely. While in WotR it's ring 1 spell, and some classes don't have this in the spell book.
it's really funny watching 12+ humanoid enemies "hit you" to their deaths.... when there's an obvious alternative... they pick you up and throw you off a cliff....
A bit of a heads-up, to avoid trouble getting the ring of protection in the future, you can steal the idol in broad daylight as long as you tp to camp as soon as it starts flying in your inventory. No one gets mad because no one technically saw anything

the craziest part, is that this is using all intentional game mechanics and no exploits. abjuration wizards really ARE that powerful. even the armor reequip thing takes your action so they known swapping is a resource, they just didnt balance it correctly.
No, this run can't be done anymore. There were multiple exploits that got nerfed after this: true strike can't proc arcane ward, re-equipping can't proc arcane ward, etc.
No idea if this'll help anyone but to remedy shadowheart losing all her health when she warding bonds, if you dismiss gale he counts as an npc that heals out of combat, so you can warding bond with him and dismiss him and he will never die from your warding bond
Food for thought in regards to the nifty movement speed exploit build: In order to make the combo more time efficient, easier to execute and also better since you can end turn inside of a globe; I would suggest combining the strategy with the Arcane Gate spell. Either level 11 wizards or warlocks of the tome can get it, and you can choose your "hop in point" and just click the gates in/out while expending zero movement. This would require a supplemental character in the party however, as they would need to be the wizard/warlock that casts the spell. If setup properly with arcane battery staves + spellcrux amulet, I could see setting up a "safezone" for the party under a globe of invulnerability (scrollcast from someone else), and the wizard then casts the gate to the high priority target you want to have killed. If you manage to include freecast, you can get a total of 4x level 6 spellcasts (or 4 gates) before needing item recharge (presumeably lategame angel potion). The thought that provoked this was when you dimension doored at the end.
The save file was 65 hours. Considering I knew exactly what I wanted to do and where to go and spent no extra time exploring or talking to anybody, it was a long 65 hours... I did have fun with it though, lol
I actually tried to incorporate reverberation in my last playthrough, but I wasn't able to get it to stack. I was using the gloves and the amulet, both were supposed to add 2 turns, and every time I made my lightning attack it only applied 2 turns instead of 4.
@InvaderTroy you can however get permanent bless if you commission a statue of you from the winged stone dude at the circus in act three. AFAIK it also applies to all companions. The statue costs 5k, but it's money well spent.
@@captaincairoPT The bless from the statue only applies to the character who commissions the statue and you can only buy 1. But yes it is permanent bless for that character

Let’s be honest, Myrkul didn’t die from any damage, he died from sheer loss of willpower alone. The entire fight he watched helplessly as a Gnome crouched behind a wall and did nothing except occasionally point at him and drink a potion. This is proven from the fact that he stops summoning skeletons, showing he mentally gave up and was welcoming death.
I ended up accidentally going with a reverberation build during my current playthrough. Unfortunately, since it wasn't something I set out to do, and I'm skipping some stuff, I'm missing several items that would make my build a lot more cool.
2 Levels in warlock for the at-will Mage Armour seriously breaks arcane ward and lets it stack far too much, basically makes you completely untouchable. unsure if they patched that out but it was fun.

In case anyone was curious, during that last fight against the elder brain, with 1000ft of movement and each round being 6 seconds, they were running at approximately 113.6 miles per hour. Back and forth, over and over. Pretty sure at that point it was less the reverberation stacks killing the brain, and more just the wind pressure being generated during those 6 seconds.

Another thing that does something very similar is the hammerhaft with fly. Anytime you fly a little bit and land, it does a thunder boom. That sounds like it would go wonderfully with your build and probably would be a bit faster, than waiting for reverberation to build up. I am talking specifically about the Raphael fight ofc.
I don't think this is true. It just says "first attack roll" for me (though this is digital and may be an update from a later core 5e book).
This isn't true. True strike says attack roll. some spells do use attack rolls.
"On your next turn, you gain advantage on your first attack roll against the target, provided that this spell hasn't ended."
It is not limited to just weapon attack rolls. In fact, one of the only useful ways to use True Strike in 5e is to be a sorcerer who casts True Strike before quickening a spell that has an attack roll, since it can potentially save a high level spell slot.
Lol at trying to get actual 5e information from XPto level 3
If you watch their actual play stuff you immediately find they never actually use the rules and barely play dnd anyway
Very fortunate for you that the Holy Lance Helm doesn't trigger Radiant Retort.
i cant put my mind round the fact you can actully do this
at the inquisitor, the blood of lathander area connected to it allows you to go to camp even once you've angered the creche. you can hide a person in there as your backup plan.
Please tell me you actually counted the number of times you cast it and didn't just pick a random number
I bet he did
Did what@@sunbleachedangel
@@NasirStewart-e4w actually counted the number of times he used True Strike
He probably estimated it from the number of rounds each combat took
@@cat-lb5os the number seems too precise to be an estimation but idk
19:31 this whole video in a nutshell:
"I Just need to outlast Myrkul."
Myrkul, the lord of bones? God of death, decay and exhaustion? That Myrkul? Well, Ok then.
Hearing Valeria's dying dialogue was like the sweetest harp music imaginable.
Wow! Just watching this makes me want to cry. You must have massive amounts of patience to pull this off
Amazing you absolute nutter. I coul never have the patience for this
I’ve been waiting and it was worth the wait! Thanks brother for the amazing content as always!
One thing I like about BG3 true strike is being a trick spell, you can use it freely. While in WotR it's ring 1 spell, and some classes don't have this in the spell book.
This is amazing! 😆
I always find it impressive when people find OP tactics with in-game mechanics.
it's really funny watching 12+ humanoid enemies "hit you" to their deaths.... when there's an obvious alternative... they pick you up and throw you off a cliff....
holy shit he actually did it
Your videos are insane and I love it, can't wait for patch 7
DIdn't think i'd see Raphael reverberated into the floor tonight but here we are :D
Another fun way to apply effects is with Adamantine plate + shield. One applies realing on hit, and the other on miss.
the Inquisitor's legendary action to create swords felt so broken, that whole fight in Honour mode is just pain honestly
Myrkul died from the mental pain of being unable to harm you.
"Dormammu, I've come to bargain."
I had no idea there was an alteration to the cutscene if Aylin fell during the tower roof fight.
A bit of a heads-up, to avoid trouble getting the ring of protection in the future, you can steal the idol in broad daylight as long as you tp to camp as soon as it starts flying in your inventory. No one gets mad because no one technically saw anything
its a modern version of the "the slowest killer in the world with a spoon"
“…who was stuck inside it, desperately trying to open it, during every single one of his turns, while I’m sure he listened to the dying screams of his comrades.” 😅
Ahaha dude, this was amazing!!!! :D Thanks for sharing your experience with the world, and you definitely have earned a subscribe from me man! :D
You are absolute legend! Well done!
I was expecting you would figure out hot to use it effectively on yourself tho
It's so funny. Every time I see Dame Aylin in someone's video, she's either carrying the fight, or abbsolutely getting wrecked.
That's always been my experience with her, lol
In my experience she always downs the first or second round. I've never seen her do well :((
I always feel bad for her bothering to go. Wish we could tell her and the Harpers to just stay home
@@mintkit1064Honestly, at this point I just don't expect anything from her, if she lands a hit it's a nice bonus but the most credit I can give her is randomly destroying necromite spawners with her radiant aura.
Now that pesky undead dragon would have been the REAL endboss.
Still, amazing video! Props to you for sticking with it. Holy crap...
Honestly, I don’t think I could have killed it. Ansur has a flat damage reduction of 4 I think. In theory I could have eventually killed it by fishing for 5 thunder damage rolls, but I’m not that much of a masochist. It’s a hard pass from me…
@@Fracture.Gaming of course. That would be borderline impossible. It’s likely your game would crash before you finish that fight. Trying to beat him with true strike would be right behind Chinese waterboarding on my list of least favorite things to do.
the craziest part, is that this is using all intentional game mechanics and no exploits.
abjuration wizards really ARE that powerful.
even the armor reequip thing takes your action so they known swapping is a resource, they just didnt balance it correctly.
No, this run can't be done anymore. There were multiple exploits that got nerfed after this: true strike can't proc arcane ward, re-equipping can't proc arcane ward, etc.
I knew I did good choosing true strike over Eldritch blast.
Who's laughing now, Old Gods?
I can't imagine how embarrassed Raphael must be, having been killed by a pacifist twitching back and forth and not actually laying a hand on him.
I knew it, true strike was broken the whole time! ( I can only imagine how long this took )
The save file was 65 hours. Considering I knew exactly what I wanted to do and where to go and spent no extra time exploring or talking to anybody, it was a long 65 hours...
I did have fun with it though, lol
Gamer pilled.
I actually tried to incorporate reverberation in my last playthrough, but I wasn't able to get it to stack. I was using the gloves and the amulet, both were supposed to add 2 turns, and every time I made my lightning attack it only applied 2 turns instead of 4.
This has so much mittensquad energy in this and im here for it
That hairstyle induces instant fear of death, causing - 5 to saving throws.
That visual bug WAS very amusing, thank you for including it
Wait, wait, wait, how did the dream visitor give you permanent bless?!
it’s not permanent, it lasts until long rest. you get it from entering the astral prism and choosing to spare the dream visitor
@@captaincairoPTPermanent until overridden by an actual Bless, then it won't come back until your next rest. Don't know how many times Shadowheart casting Mass Healing Word with that "add Bless when healing" ring has overridden my statue buff.
in act 3, donating to umberlee gives perma bless
Killing Raphael through constant edging is pretty poetic
Round 87... that is, canonically, eight minutes and forty-two seconds.
That's awesome, I love it so much. I hope it doesn't get patched anytime soon because I wanna try that out.
@@Fracture.Gaming it's basically just this build on crack xD it was a really silly goofy time
@@upsetti6404 idk if you've watched my warlock series, some people are really into it and I've been feeling like I don't know exactly where to take my character builds as a result have been putting off working on it... BUT that build sounds SO perfect for Reginald since he's about to multiclass as a wizard. Like, this might be the inspiration I've been waiting for to continue the series. I'm excited, thanks for this :)
I don't think it will, since the interaction works exactly like that in tabletop as well.
@@Fracture.Gaming eyyy! I have seen it, that's exciting, glad I could help and have some impact! Happy gaming!
I can't imagine what would convince anyone to play an entire honor play through like this 😭
9:13 "and the dream visitor gave me permanent bless"
Excuse me, what the fuck? How???
It's only until Long Rest, my bad on the wording I used, it was not clear
@@Fracture.Gaming ooooh, thank goodness, I thought I just locked myself out of saving myself from spending 5k on some hard mud.
i saw a headline about this a couple weeks ago, but im just now watching the video--this playthrough was even more tedious than i initially imagined. im so sorry for what youve been through, and i think you might wanna seek help for what is obviously a new and unique form of selfharm
Slow clap, give this man an award. Just figuring out the monk amulet resets the reveberation is crazy.
The fact that this works but it takes on average 50+ rounds for battle and almost 200 rounds to kill Myrkul is sending me 🤣
if you arent using gale just get him to warding bond you then just leave him at camp and replace him with another party member. he will never die. he has a game heal that prevents him from dieing. he just heals all the damage he gets from it
that's cool, I need to try it
Omg Fracture. You Fracture’d my mind watching this, how did you stay sane?! Are you still sane?! Were you sane when you came up with this idea?! When did the sanity leave?!
Hahaha you should see the Word document I used to plan this run. It was 1,817 words long.
And even with all that planning I still missed a few things that I had wanted, most notably the Martial Exertion Gloves
@@Fracture.Gaming Honestly after witnessing this I am not even remotely surprised. You have both my respect and condolences.
15:19 can't make it, can't make it this shit's STUCK, *DOOR STUCK!*
I realize it doesn't fit this video, but this build plus armor of agathys is absolutely insane
Oh yeah that sounds amazing. Getting hit for zero damage but still getting the armor of agathys damage proc
The definition of “stop TRYING to hit me, and HIT ME!”
I keep hearing people say that they love Raphaels fight music. Am I the only one that can't stand hearing his narcissistic voice in your ear the whole time? XD
You played through BG3 as “Batman with prep time”
I love all these outrageous strategies.
i laughed so hard at the raphael fight i'm literally crying.
52 combat rounds of CONSTANTLY trying to open a locked door... LOL
Should've taken the Callous Glow Ring that does 2 extra radiant damage on everything
I think it might be time to take the Boots of Stormy Clamour away from you
I'll fight to keep them, and you should know that I just discovered an infinite action points exploit so the fight WILL NOT be fair.
I mean, true strike synergizes rather well with GWM, it neatly offsets -5 to hit.
