Dear Steve, You’re at your best here- this was a great video! By the way- sorry to hear about your cat. These things are always a wrench. Keep going sir! Regards, Z
Thanks, Zin! You know, like they say: Those who can't do, teach... 😝 I'm glad you enjoyed it. Might be a template for certain future vids. Thanks again, chum! 😀
Great history less and a very nice tribute to Goddard. He never really got the recognition he deserves. And he never received a true apology. Thanks for taking the time to research the information and presenting it. Apparently the Germans were able to get copies of his work. Whether they used it or not has been debated. I grew up in the days of the "Soviet moon", "duck and cover", the arms and space race. Looks like a nice kit and fairly large. Nice box art. Back then box art sold the kits. Built a lot of missile kits back in those days, Nike, Snark, Bormac, and other. Can not remember the companies. P.S. What is the name of the model/hobby place that sent you the kit. Never heard of the name you mentioned and do not know how it is spelled.
Hi Garfield! Thanks, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. At the time Goddard's monogram was distributed freely; and of course, the Germans picked up on it -- like others, they're not stupid, just mean 😐. Goddard adapted Swedish inventor Gustaf de Laval's 'steam' nozzle, which allowed some of his rockets to reach Mach 7 exhaust speeds (awesome equal and opposite reactions, there..) Yeah, we had 'duck and cover' too -- but even as youngsters we knew we'd just be kissin' it goodbye... 🤣 I went to school with a guy whose mom survived Hiroshima -- Setsuko Nakamura (Thurlow), so I get that. Would'a been better than what's goin' on today... 😐 Yeah, Revell and Atlantis did some good old kits. I'm starting to really enjoy huntin' down the really old ones and presenting them. That Sinclair Oil Tanker was sweet... As for the vendor, Denau was the name, and here's the site: www.allrockets.ca/ I got my kit from Amazon, but they might also do direct... Thanks so much for your comments, and especially your support. Model on, Dude! 👍😎
@@garfieldsmith332 Maybe not ahead, but wouldn't have had to desperately play catch-up. But that's the way with democracies... More telling to me is how he was treated by fellow 'scientists.' Just as with the NYT 🤮🤮, not much has changed in the ensuing 100 years... 😐

@@stevesmodelbuilds5473 Just a new though. Imagine if the U.S. government took Goddard more seriously. How far ahead would the US be prior to WW2?

Really enjoy your videos ! Going to have to build this kit someday.
Thanks, Scott! I'm building it now, and it's a fun little kit. Thanks for watching! 😀

Then maybe you should have watched a 'build' video? Anyway, thanks for watching 😀
