Better than a Wooly Bugger?

  • This is one of our favorite flies in the fly box. I believe it looks and fishes better than the standard wooly bugger. What do you think?

    which brand/type of hackle did you use? very nice fly

      My favorite hackle is Whiting. I also like Metz

    Interesting tying,and I think that dabbing yours is not Simi-seal -Canadian Olive only, looks like least three or more dubbing’s mixed in one.

      I’ll have to double check . I’ve noticed different brands of simi bo-seal look a little different.

      Sorry for my comment,when I look the Canadian Olive in daylight looks exactly same as in your video. I am really sorry one more time.

      I have a tying Lamp Daylight and I can see very well colors,my Canadian Olive looks about same like yours.

    Simi-seal is the worst when you're dubbing. So slippery! I usually use a loop.

      Yes, loops work good as well. If you use pre-waxed thread, or a little bit of wax on your regular thread, semi still works pretty good.

    almost a crayfish imitation.

      Yes, especially in the summer time when crayfish get that "orange" color coming on.
