Had a friend that was in radio in the mid 70s and if we got backstage passes I would always bring record albums to the concert in hopes of getting them signed. Lucked out with fully signed albums by Aerosmith, Yes, Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Toto. But there is no way I would bring them if I was out in the crowd.
Hey Brant! I have some Japanese KISS albums that my Dad or Grandfather had picked up in Japan on their trips with the Navy. I do have the Japanese copies of The Originals and then I bought The Originals 2 when I was 14 in 1978 when I went on vacation to Tokyo. I still have it and it's complete. The lyric sheet is just your standard Japanese bio, lyrics and then English lyrics. Keep on doing your videos, because I enjoy them! :-)
I was the opposite of you, I had the Originals in place of the first three albums. I have a descent copy of it I bought online but It's without the Kiss Army sticker and man it's hard to find. I had a second pressing, that I found at a record store, but sold it when I thinned out my collection to just first pressings.
I've seen certain people bring albums to concerts in hopes to get members of the band to sign their records. It's not a common practice by most but I've seen it throughout the years.
First thing I thought was someone is getting their album signed. It wound up in a random photo. Someone saw the photo. Said, "Man-this would be a great photo to add to the booklet that's going to be included in the new Kiss repackaging called The Originals." I am going to go with NOT an early photo shop.
It's really unusual that the Originals II started to pop-up around the late 80s, early 90s. Although KISS dealers and diehards claimed to have seen copies as early as 1980/'81. I have never in my lifetime and KISS fandom prior to 1992 ever witnessed, seen or experienced the KISS Originals II, or any adverts relating to the Originals II. I understand the fact it is a Victor-Japan release. Exclusive to Japan. Definitely a Holy Grail. I own one copy, sans Masks. I do have an extra booklet from the Originals if you want a copy.
Yeah, it is weird. i had never even heard of the Originals II until i started research. And thanks for the offer on the booklet. I may take you up on it. I'm still going to be on the lookout for another copy of the Originals because I would like to have a copy in better shape.

Thanks for your video, great info. I just got my hands on the originals JPN version with inserts so I'm very happy with that 😀👍🤘
What about the 1st edition promotional white label version? I wonder how many of those were printed 🤔
