What’s your definition of “skateboarding” cause I remember when this type of thing was a regular at parties, etc. Was a good part of skateboarding then as it is today where it still exists. Respect and love to Jaime Mateu for keeping it alive.
Became one of my all time favorites ( if not my favorite ) skateboarder when i saw him at Munich Mesh! This dude is a LEGEND . Pure adrenaline and passion. Managed to take a big ass autograph from him after the end of the contest . GNAR JAIME KEEP SHREDDING
Awesome. This stuff is awesome. I wonder how the jury will judge so agresiv style vs hardcore flip in + grind + flip out stuff. Both is awesome but I personally like the flying at top speed shit more. Can't imagine how to judge this to different styles against each other
That old timer in the end that he nearly hit in the head with the skate board told him to slow it down when he’s on the wall and then he did it and landed it next try. What a legend!
Immediately thought of idiocracy. That super dome stadium theatric shit!!!! Holy shit! So crazy. Man someone stated they must have gave him an 8ball before his run….. so true! Hahaha.
so much about that trick is insane blind awkward dangerous huge like on top of all that he has to make sure not to clip his heel on the board from judo, while he and his board are rotating towards his heel... while backwards, back parallel to the ground, from 14 feet up... while that foot is totally focused on perfectly resetting himself upright and back into the quarterpipe so he doesn't just do a backwards death dive to flat the sheer awkwardness of this... seriously this trick is up there with bob's 2001 X Games best trick as far as the danger and awkwardness factor... Bob's was obviously tougher because of the height and flip trick factor, but the judo heel clip issue really adds a shitload along with the blind landing

I feel very stupid standing next to Mike, I have permanent nerve damage in my spine so my skating had declined last 5 years since very bad auto collision from behind, meanwhile Frazier still skates like an 18 year old at 52. Last saw Mike in Münster late 80’s or early 90’s. I think he won it one year but I can’t remember what year. Memory is like my skating, terrible.
