Tell me about it, several years ago when I was at my familys house my aunts and uncles were having yet another discussion about the lottery and how much money they want to place on it and how they hope their jackpot comes in this week. They talked about it for hours, each person discussing their tactic and then when they asked me, I reminded them that I don't play the lottery because gambling is haram and rather than them thank me for reminding them, I was mocked, snorted at or given a dirty look. Its pathetic. They all call themselves devout as well, have long beards and wear hijabs and with every other subject always remind people that you shouldn't do x,y,z because its haram but when it comes to the subject of money and making loads of it, they forget Allah. Sad really how much value and importance people put on the one thing we won't be taking to the graves with us.
It is true. But nowadays people care about this. Not the hereafter. I sometimes pray to Allah so that i don't become someone who run after money. Let's all pray together to Allah so that our muslim brothers and sisters don’t run after worldly things.

To thank the Almighty more often, pronouncing "alhamdulilLah", while enumerating in our thoughts all the good that we have (faith, health, knowledge, food, etc.). And asking forgiveness, pronouncing "astaghfirulLah", remembering our sins and mistakes

4 Tips to gain the love of ALLAH.
1. Repentance: “Indeed Allah loves those who are constantly repentant.” (Holy Qur’an 2:222)
Allah loves the repentant slave, who constantly turns back to Him, knowing He is the All-Forgiving, Most-Forgiving, the Acceptor of Repentance, the Pardoner. No matter how often one repeats a sin, and no matter how grave the sin is, one should constantly turn back to Allah.
Abu Hurayrah narrated that he heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying, “If somebody commits a sin and then says, ‘O my Lord! I have sinned, please forgive me!’ and his Lord says, ‘My slave has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven my slave (his sins).’ Then he remains without committing any sin for a while and then again commits another sin and says, ‘O my Lord, I have committed another sin, please forgive me,’ and Allah says, ‘My slave has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven my slave (his sin).’ Then he remains without Committing any another sin for a while and then commits another sin (for the third time) and says, ‘O my Lord, I have committed another sin, please forgive me,’ and Allah says, ‘My slave has known that he has a Lord Who forgives sins and punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven My slave (his sin), he can do whatever he likes.’” (Bukhari)
One should follow up a bad deed with seeking forgiveness and doing good deeds, so that the bad deed is wiped out. One should not tire of repenting to Allah.
It was narrated by Anas that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Every son of Adam commits sin, and the best of those who commit sin are those who repent.” (Ibn Majah)
2. Purification: “Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves.” (Holy Qur’an 2:222)
Allah loves when a slave purifies himself from impurities, both major and minor. Being pure also includes being pure from shirk and sinfulness etc...
3. God-consciousness: “Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who fear Him].” (Holy Qur’an 09:04)
Often translated as God-consciousness or piety, taqwa is to protect oneself from the Hellfire by performing what has been commanded by Allah and abstaining from what has been prohibited.
4. Goodness and perfecting our good deeds: “And Allah loves the doers of good.” (Holy Qur’an 3:134) The complete verse reads, “Who spend [in the cause of Allah] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good.”

(O Allah! You are my Lord. There is no god except You. You have created, I am Your slave, I hold to Your Covenant as far as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge the favours that You have bestowed upon me and I confess my sins. Pardon me, for none but You has the power to pardon).
