I really hope that yt isnt gonna deletes this. This walktrough is so good. And sadly I can't really make this game work on my pc, so this is my only source from this great game
@evilperson86u Your forgetting armor can be stripped to. I think I probably only stuck one on there just to go faster. a ton or less of armor would cover it.
Ah, now this takes the whole MechWarrior idea to a whole new level. Especially with the economy system. To that which I say, F U C K I N G G E N I U S!
This is possibly the best MechWarrior game, hopefully MechWarrior:Online can live up to it (and find a way to stop the franken 'mechs from too much freedom in customization.
Hah... I don't think I've been in the missions before, especially in training missions. And I do not recall the sky being that dark in this game. I must have went straight to where I can kill the robots and encounter the buildings in the game. It's been far too long since I've played this game back in 1997-98.
Dear Patrick I have a question. Is it possible to play the Mech2 games with german dub, but with english text? I remember playing the german version of the PS1 arcade edition and man that bitching betty was fire. I wanted to play the PC versions but with the german bitching betty. Is there any way for that?
You know it's actually possible to do a Firemoth run in 1.1 (only works in 1.1 and only in career mode)? To do it, you need to make use of the "Time Warping Salvage glitch," one that is not very well known. For those not in the know: 1.play through the game normally up until the point to where you would salvage a firemoth (or any mech you want, but I'll use a Firemoth for this example. I remember back in the day I used to use this glitch for Madcats and Daishis, my two favorate mechs.) DO NOT CLICK ON SALVAGE AT THIS POINT. Instead, save the game. 2. Start a new game and play the Hansan's rough riders mission up until the last one (I'm not sure if you can get it after the first one. Been a LOOOOONG time since I've had a pc capable of running Mech2Merc.) Salvage what you have _first_, then save. 3. reload the game with the firemoth. Do nothing once it's reloaded. 4. reload the one with the hansan's rough riders. 5. You should notice that not only is the salvage option has reappeared on the rough riders one, but the thing you're salvaging is the firemoth, years before the clan wars ever started!! 6. Enjoy the delicious time paradox. ... yes you can salvage an ungodly amount of weapons this way too.
ya know i just wanna say this now... i could never work out how to investigate a navpoint back when... just couldn't do it wonder what happens if you kill deadeye and survive...
you cannot really run the vanilla versions of that on a 64bit OS. You need to use the DOS version and run it in DOSBOX. Either that or use the vanilla 95 in Virtual PC of some sort. Alternatively use Titanium which i do not recommend.
I wish this game would make a come back but since activision is involved i dont think that will ever happen since activision cant leave anything nice alone
@evilperson86u beats me honestly. I only know it is there lol.. i forget how or what i did.. if its not in the vid (i haven't checked) sorry. It is a legit design though that i can tell you.
@@Ace1000ks We're talking about a Mercenary lance with what appears to be two mechs in it. I just always assumed it was a mercenary group that was frequently strapped for cash. Also not sure about the lore of commanders only being in heavy or assault mechs. I'm from the 2nd and 3rd edition era, where most of the original lore was being established. The only thing I remember about lances is that they typically contained two heavy mechs, a medium mech, and a light mech. It never said which one the commander piloted. And if you look at the lore, Carlyle's Commandos, a mercenary unit, had a phoenix hawk, a shadow hawk, a locust, and a stinger (or maybe a wasp, can't remember), and their commander piloted the phoenix hawk. I somehow doubt mercenaries would strictly follow protocol. Back to the model, the mech on the cover art for Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries is definitely a mauler. Looking at Col. Harris' mech, hers is much thinner in the legs and arms than the mauler we see on the cover. Her mech also has a head that sticks up with a crest. You can see it pretty clearly right here: ruclips.net/video/-z7gzXBH3AU/видео.html Here's why I thought it was a centurion: battlemechclub.blogspot.com/2019/08/classic-centurion.html I am willing to admit I might be wrong, since the in-game model for the centurion doesn't have that pronounced head crest. On the other hand, the evidence in your favor... how the heck would a centurion take down an ATLAS?! Even a mauler would have trouble destroying an atlas without help. And more evidence in your favor, she's got gun hands/arms on both arms, which the stock centurion certainly didn't.
@@Ace1000ks Could be… I honestly don’t know anymore but I always thought it was a centurion because of its body shape and the head. But it doesn’t even match the in-game centurion and there ain’t no way a centurion takes down an atlas without some crazy lucky hits.
I really wish they'd remaster this legendary game, maybe a bit of a graphics boost while retaining the awesome storyline and voiceacting
+mcjagermech HD version would be better.
either way MWO just ain't cutting it for me
3 years later... just want to make sure you're still looking because a new one is coming out
What they need to do is do Open Mech Warrior 2 Mercenaries
as a kid during the summer nights i would stay up late playing this game. i sure miss those days
Same
Everyone's downstairs watching movies and here I am nerding out that I just found a MW2 Merc playthrough to enjoy tonight
This is one of the best games ever made.
Callsign: "Kid" or "Hey-You"

Oh yes, absolutely agreed! Even after all these years, this walkthrough is still golden.
It's funny how "Dead-Eye" and Tri-M Academy later on were investigated after a group of cadets got killed during one of their training/missions.
@thepiebetrayer Alright, sure I will do a mechlab video when i get a chance

what mech is Col. Holly Harris in the beginning pilot? i always wondered.... an annihilator ?

One of the best PC games bar none!
This was the first game I played that had ground textures decaled on polygons. Unfortunately they were so pixelated I felt like I was driving a toy.
Good playthrough, one of my very favorite games ever - thanks for sharing!
@evilperson86u I customized the mech offscreen probably. I forget
@DavidofThe Thanks for watching!
God, I miss this game :(

Green arrow is your best friend!
X rebirth should take some cues from the voice acting here... because Dead Eye is badass!

anyone know how i can run this on a 64 bit OS? wouldnt mind getting a little practice in before online comes out.

Judging by the outline, it's either a Zeus or a Thug. The shot of its weapon arm looks like the Zeus, to me.
PS:
"Dead-eye"
"Contents Unknown"
For some reason I find that funny.
Sgt Unters, " Let me kill everybody ", LOL!!!
Those were the days :)
I love 1990s games, they were the best.
does anyone know how to set this game up on a windows 10 pc ? this game is amazing
love this game
Do you have a 60fps recording of all these videos?
no. My computer at the time would have choked. sorry
Sir MMPD Radick Aw that's a shame
I wish this game would make a come back but since activision is involved i dont think that will ever happen since activision cant leave anything nice alone
does deadeye remind anyone else of dan lauria from the old tv show the wonder years?

Well, come play netmech with us! It is free and setup very easily. We play regularly every Friday 5 PM PST. Info is on the news section of Mech2 org.
it's actually a zeus now that i found out
"New career selected."
If only it were that easy.

Get off those damn jump jets we can't hear! :D
nostalgia...
Col. Harris's mech looks like a Mauler.

@SirxMMPD
By the looks of things, you downgraded the engine so that you could fit them in.
i once failed the 1st mission on purpose; just to see what would happen
year 3044? i wonder what the economy would be like in THAT time? shouldnt matter to US cause we wont live to see it
agreed
it was a zeus. 100% sure.
