I was always told that the polish grade means more then the Symmetry grade. If you can find a diamond with excellent polish and very good symmetry always take that opposed to a diamond with excellent symmetry and very good polish. Correct?

Hi AgonyShorts and thanks for your comment and question. Actually the answer to your question is neither. I say this because both polish and symmetry can take hits in GIA grading from Excellent down to Very Good and still acquire the "Excellent" cut grade. Same with AGS labs. The reason for this is that it is proportions that will impact the optics of the diamond more than polish and symmetry will. Light performance is key.
