Grandma is right, the song is about giving your parents their deserved rest while they are still alive after raising you to be a productive adult. Listen to her.❤❤❤
No, its not about losing their mom. The song is a tribute to their parents, for raising them to who they are now. The lyrics video have literally is ilustrating that where ever they go, they will not lose their way back. Because they have their map (Mapa)- Ma (Mama), and Pa(Papa). And the beat is just right for a ballad song dedicated to their parents.
Alot of people interpret the 'close your eyes' as in dying. But actually, it's a situation in most family who are struggling and where life is tough, alot of parents work long hours to provide for the family. They lose sleep not just thinking about the children and their future but also losing sleep due to work. That's why now that the kids are capable to provide and take over the responsibility so the parents now can relax and allow themselves to take it easy, catchup on sleep and rest (no need to wake up early and sleep late).
The lyric video is very symbolic. The boat symbolizes once journey in life as it sails. Then you will see that there is eyes with teardrops then flowers grow. Then later on the boat turn to paper plane and return meaning they dont forget where they came from. The whole backdrop is a map (MAPA). It is a tribute to our beloved parents and guardians.
MAPA is a play of words.. it has two meanings- Ma and Pa (their parents) and Mapa is tagalog word for “Map”. They are saying that parents are the map to life. Their advice and love have given them the right direction, hence the map. It’s a tribute song to tjeir parents for their sacrifices. They have experienced hardship and poverty. Now they are successful they are asking their parents to stand back and they will look after them. Their actual parents are all alive and they love them for their support.
Thanks for recognising SB 19 I'm 65 years old like this group because all their songs are decent inspirational full of good ideas for good people specially for young people.
"MAPA" is a heartfelt tribute to our moms and dads, expressing deep gratitude for their sacrifices, unconditional love, and unwavering support. You can definitely interpret it in sorts of ways. The members of SB19, pour their hearts into this track, making it resonate with listeners on a personal level. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. It's fantastic to see more people discovering and enjoying the beautiful music that SB19 creates. Looking forward to more reactions from you and your Nan, and keep spreading the love for SB19's incredible artistry.
Hello mga kap here...💙😊 actually this song is like a universal language, it depends on what you are feeling, depends on how you understand and relate to the song and that is how unique the message of this song are 😊 like me my mother pass away 7 years ago and when i first hear this music i can relate on that way like i miss you didn't see you anymore, close your eyes and i will be the one who will take care of the rest, like my father who is still alive. There are no wrongs because just what i have said it depends on how you relate and understand the music. 😊😮 Thanks for reaction guys, when I first saw you i got jealous because i miss my grandma and my mother in heaven. Keep safe and take good care of your granny. Sending hug❤
I'm so proud of people who spendtime with their old parents, treasure the time while they're still strong and healthy. Can't be more proud of you sharing this precious time with your mom. Godbless you both ❤ from the Philippines
This song is about love to your parents in return,.... usually they used it on Mother's Day/ Father's Day as well as during graduation rites in HS and college ...❤🤞
This song it really meant for all those parents who really cared for their kids/children. Whom they sacrifice their time and effort to give their best to support their children. This song symbolize how their thankful to their parents. How they raised them from birth till they well grown to stand on their own feet. I love every words of the lyrics. Thanks SB19.. So proud for all your success and more projects to come...❤❤
The map symbolizes the "guide' that wherever we go, whatever adventures we do, we fail, we succeed we always have our parents behind our back. They will always be there to support us and when things go the wrong way, we always know our way back home. The map embodies the advise, how to survive life and the the lessons we learned from our parents.
MAPA, composed by their leader Pablo, cleverly intertwines meanings. In Tagalog, MAPA usually refers to a map, but Pablo sees it as a tribute to our parents who guide us through life's journey, akin to a MAP guiding travel. Additionally, MAPA holds familial significance, representing both "MAma" (mother) and "PApa" (father). Breaking it down further, "MA" symbolizes "MAta" (eyes), and "PA" signifies "PAa" (feet) in Tagalog, adding layers of meaning to this creative linguistic play. The song "MAPA" serves as a heartfelt tribute to the unwavering support and love of the artists' parents. It conveys the message that it's now the artists' turn to work and provide for their parents, acknowledging the sacrifices and struggles their parents endured while raising them. It symbolizes a sincere effort to reciprocate the care and dedication received during their upbringing.
this song is all about loving the parents , grandparents, good adoptive parents or guardians. if someone will be raised by good people , family or relatives . it will show how it will turn a person when he / she mature. his attitudes in life. how he value life . other peoples lives . who surrounded them. the messages are many. treasure or take good care of people who raised you when they are still around. those who are dead already . do not forget them. showing also the Philippines 🇵🇭 culture and tradition . when it comes to love, family and lovedones. always be humble. keeping feet on the ground . know your way back home. do not let fame or fortune, success to drown you in the end. be a good influence to others.fir me. that's the impact on me. I don't know about others .❤😊😊😊❤
wow shes a good reactor mapa mean map Our parents is our map like a pattern in life .. 1 meaning of mapa (mama, papa just abbrevation of MA-PA).. Thnx for liking SB19.. Gb u both!..
The map in the song refers to the love of your parents for you and all the things that they taught you. And because of that, you'll never get lost because you always know the way home. or you will never get lost because you always know where you came from.
New sub here. Thank u vey much for reacting Sb19 songs. I’m jealous u have still your grandma with u & spending time with her like this. Anyway, as u dig deep into SB19’s history, from their hardships since 2016 up until now that they are successful & having their own company which is 1Z Ent. These 5 men have their own talents & contributing it in their every song they made. Their songs always have double meaning who Pablo, by the way is the leader & composer of all their songs. He’s a genius always making word playing. These men could stably sing while dancing vigorously, could rap, could make their own choreography & music video. Most especially they are very humble individuals that’s why many cashuals/foreign reactors are into them b’coz of their songs & their talents & their humility. If u have time u could visit Cashual Chucks’s youtube channel to know their humble beginnings/history (Story of SB19 which has 6episodes). Goodluck on your channel😊

Thank you for reacting to SB19, we appreciate you guys so much...

Its a most ICONIC song...if you concentrate on the song..you will feel the boys' great love for their parents. This song has been translated in several languages, has garnered millions of listeners and streams..and is the 4th most googled song in 2021 worldwide..
Granny is correct...it's about children appreciation to their parents and telling them to rest now. Its our turn to work to provide for you. Thanking the parents for everything they do for them.❤❤❤
The group talked about coming up with the concept while doing their laundry while on tour. They all missed their parents and dreamed about the day they could repay their parents hard work and guidance by taking care of them. In the Philippines family is everything and they often have multi Generations living together. It's a song that Filipino students have sung to their parents at graduation ceremonies. Latalatura is actually a lullaby sung by mom's to their Children at bedtime. Pablo, the leader is so good at lyrics. Mapa translates to Map in English (always knowing where you came from) and MaPa is short for Mom and Pop. The lyric video graphics tell a story but it's hard to see when your reading the lyrics. I love their ballads but you might want to check out their song WYAT or Where You At next. It's a fun bop! The official MV is a blast to watch!
Pablo, together with the rest of the members, wrote this song while they were in rigid training, not being able to go home for some time, and they missed their parents and grandparents.❤ Yes, the background says about the map, saying too that our parents/grandparents have always guided us in what life has to bring❤.
It' s about returning the love the sacrifices that parents did when they still young.Children are now grown up,so its our duty now to return the love they gave.
Gd day to you both,,yeah its all about children and parents ,,,here in the Philippines we have that culture that if youre already have a job we owe the responsibility to provide when it comes to financial problems ,,not all but aa filipino thats our culture to norture our grandparents ,parents etc...
MaPa short for MAMA PAPA take rest now because i take over all the things that you did for me its about time to take good care of you now just enjoy your time for our family..no worries just enjoy thank you so much to react PPOP KING'S SB19 🇵🇭 MAHALIMA
The Wish bus performance of mapa was beautiful please check it out, and their pagtatag concert manila performance was very emotional , please check it out also.
The background is a mop in tagalog MAPA.. Sb19 song Mapa Is for parents.(Ma & Pa) is all about giving back to all parents sacrifices for their child. Wherever how far you go, you will never lost your way back because you have the Mop (Mapa)
Nana was right. Its a tribute for their parents. The parents did their best raising them and now that they are old enough, they want to take care of their parents instead of the other way around.
The message is like..Mom and Dad stop working now..we are now in charge of our financial needs..we'll take care of you..like that..travel the world if you want..we'll give you what you want..something like..like its our time to take care of them..stay safe..GODBLESS..
React to MAPA Live on Wish 107.5 Bus🚌. Try also to react ILAW (Light) Live on Wish Bus but b4 that try to see first their lyric video with English subtitles for you to understand what the song is all about bcoz if I'm not mistaken English subtitles on Wish Bus is not available. Other ballad songs of SB19: *Nyebe (Snow) *Liham (Letter) *Tilaluha *Hanggang as huli R&B: I Want You
Katara tara is a Filipino lullaby. Thank you for the reaction. Their parents are still alive and Paolo who by the way composes all their songs, wrote this song to honor their parents. Again, thank you for the reaction.
"MAPA" got double meaning mapa in tagalog is "MAP" double meaning MA for mama PA for papa they always bring MAPA ( MAP or MA or PA ) in the song for his journey in life
Pablo the leader is the one who composed the song. The "latararatara" is a a lullaby he remembers when he was young. Its part of a filipino culture to take care of their parents when the children are already grown up and able to.
The lyric video is actually quite meaningful in itself. It's a bit difficult to follow since you're also following the subs but you're right about the background, it's a map (MAPA means map when directly translated to English). The paper boat also goes through a journey across the map and even turned into a paper plane at some point (signifying soaring high and achieving success). MAPA both means map and "Ma" and "Pa". It basically just means their parents (and their teachings) is their map as they journey through life. It's a tribute to parents so you can take it in any way. Either way, it just means wanting to appease their parents hearts because they're now capable individuals.
MA- mama Pa- Papa--- MAPA --- double meaning-- mama and papa or a MAP. The song is a "thank you' song for parents who have done so much for their children and the child wants to take care of them now.
New subscriber here. Thank you for reacting to SB19 and I hope you continue reacting to SB19's music. I know you won't regret supporting them either. I look forward to more. Thanks!
It's a grateful and tribute song for parents who guide their children since born until they are strong enough to take care of themselves...so the song telling the parents to stop worrying about them and it's time for them to rest and just enjoy their own life and the grown children will be there to take care of the parents since they are capable to work for them💙... It's not about the parents who past away...🤔
It's basically about taking responsibilities and giving back to their parents and letting them take things slow and easy now. MaPa = Mama and Papa. Mapa also means map. The wisdom that their parents imparted with them while growing up will guide them wherever life take them and will keep them away from being stray. The backgroud visual is a map.
You are so lucky to have your grandma (nan) with you doing reaction videos. You have such a lovely bonding time enjoying each other's company. God bless you both. 🙏❤️
Your Grandma might like the song Nyebe by SB19. It’s a song of hope. There is a music video with subtitles. Also, please react to the girl group, G22. Their songs are Bang, Babalik, Musika and Boomerang.
New subscriber here,. It was awesome to see a grandma and her grandchild do a RV with the king of PPOP,. Yup!! All there songs always have a double meaning,. That always touch the heart of the all Genre,. You both Try, LIHAM (Letter), ILAW (Light) all must have English Subtitles. Good Luck!!
You can react to their live performance MAPA in wishbus 107.5. The song is dedicated to their parents who raised them and now that they are working, they were not always with their parents. Where ever they go they will not forget where they belong. The grandma is correct interpreting the song. The boys were so respectful and humble to their parents. They have performed this in some of their concert crying.
The graphics show the boat (the child) cruising through life, navigating through its courses, never losing way, and while it goes on its route, seeds sprout to plants and soon bloom. It symbolizes how a child, through his parents’ guidance, becomes productive in life and never goes astray because he has with him his parents’ advice that serve as his map (guide). Soon the easy-cruising boat evolves into a plane, symbolizing how the child has become a grown-up now, ready to take on the world. The parents here may be anyone who has served as guide to the child. The song does not speak about parents who already passed away but parents who should rest their worries now because the child is already OK; he can take care of himself, or it can also mean the child is taking upon himself to take care of his parents this time around. Lataratara is actually La Tierra (The Wold, because that is what a child is to his parents), a lullaby his nan hummed Pablo (SB19 leader who composed Mapa and almost all their other songs) to sleep when he was just a boy. Guess you have to react on live perfs of the boys; maybe you and your nan will appreciate them more.
Thank you for your RV. This is a song of gratitude for ones parents. I guess the word 'rest' is what confuses some people, since it is often used to express condolences when one says rest in peace. In this song, it may just literally just mean for parents to take a respite from all the hardwork in raising the family ...or on a different situation, yes it can mean to say to an ailing parent to not worry and let go, rest.. For me, this song is a sweet memory lane of my parents now long gone, like a warm hug I wish I could give them again. In our current time where different families undergo different challenging scenarios, the song can be a soft reminder, not to give up or forsake ones parents as one explores his own timeline. I think your Nan will enjoy seeing the MV of this song, since she wants to see more colorful setting. Hope you get to see it. Since you have seen already the english cc in the lyric video, then you can just enjoy the performance and rendition of the song in the MV. There is also a MAPA band version where they performed with Ben&Ben band, that is another impressive and more celebratory performance of the song.
Main thing listeners should know: MAPA in Tagalog (the Filipino language used in the song) means MAP, and is a play on the words MA and PA (almost universally understood as meaning MOTHER and FATHER). Otherwise, they can't the appreciate the line "I won't ever get lost because I have the MAPA". Additional context: This lyric video came out in May 2021, during the pandemic lockdown in the Philippines, with all the limitations that put on being able to gather and get work done. Myself, I would take into consideration easy-to-find background info like that when reacting -- but that's me.
Hope you'll check more of SB19's music & performances. I do really think that your nan would enjoy them. Even their solo performances/stuffs. You can also react to SB19 Stell's performance/cover to Defying Gravity, All by myself and more! 🤗💙
Its about parents who worked hard for thier children, now its time for the son to work for thier parents and repay them..its time for thier parents to rest
It's not about losing their parents. It's about telling their mama and papa to rest for now and don't worry about anything. Ma and Pa just chill out. I will take care of everything now.
Fyi this songs is about the son is taking over, asking their ma that means mama and papa to relax n take a rest because from now on the take over everything, financially etc because they work hard done too much while they're growing up no one died in this song lyrics .they just missed their parent because theyre now so busy in their carrerr n stardom
Hello! there the MaPa (Mama+ Papa) video and song is not about losing lol. I appreciate your reaction to our beloved SB19🇵🇭. It’s a tribute showing gratitude to your mom and dad who brought you to this world. The video of the Map is telling or showing you your way back to where you came from. In our Filipino culture we look up to our parents because they take care of us when we were young so, now that they’re old you do the same thing, you take care of them too.
Thank you and your mom. May I suggest you go further down the rabbit hole of PPOP starting with SB19?! Check out some of the earlier vlogs from various interviews concerning the group and its members. Some of it is tragic and sad, but it made SB19 to be who they are today. They are truly the PPOP KINGS. Some of the members have solo projects going on right now. Josh has 'Just Right' mv and live version on Wishbus. Pablo and his brother Josue (pronounced as Hoss sway) has 'Determinado' mv and also 'Akala' live on Rappler. Felip and Playertwo has 'Flyy' and 'Pagdali' Justin has his first debut song arriving on Feb 29, 2024. Stell has a collab and will be on tour in the US. ❤ Note: SB19'S songs tells their story, their emotions. 🙂
Basically, its a tribute to parents…that they can rest from taking care of them .and in return, they will take care of their parents instead.it can have a meaning in both ways but generally, its about taking care of parents ❤❤❤
haha, when i looked at mapa as the title i automatically thought of Map but i knew it was about mum and dad as got explained on the gento reaction @@mayainuk600
@@mayainuk600yes..that mom and dad are like a map that guides their children on how to live to be a better person...a lot was touched and cried on this song..a masterpiece of SB19's ballad emotional song.. Thanks for appreciating..
Did you notice that A'TIN are very supportive... That's A'TIN WON against KPOP GROUP SEVENTEEN in the BILLBOARD FAN ARMY FACE OFF 2023.... Keep reacting to our MAHALIMA
"Pahinga" means "to rest" in Tagalog/Filipino. The captions literally translated it. Figuratively, it means "I'll take it from here, you can unwind". "Lataratara" is a lullaby. Thank you for your RV.
Sorry, no one died in this song, this was made in a laundry room during the pandemic, they were missing their friends and family due to confinement, PABLO the leader of the group asked the guys what do you want to say to your parents and this is how this song was born. This is their tribute to their parents for all the sacrifices in taking care of them, the Sun and moon represented parents for taking care of us day and night, anyway, the last line says I will be the one taking care of you now, so this tells you that no one died. MA- mama PA - papa, Mapa - map in Philippine language. Read the lyrics again. It’s awesome that your parent understand better than you did. Anyway, thank you for reacting to this song🧐🤔✌️🙏🇵🇭🇺🇸
Grandma is right, the song is about giving your parents their deserved rest while they are still alive after raising you to be a productive adult. Listen to her.❤❤❤

Love the message of MaPa song. I 💙 SB19
Love you grandma ❤
Katara tara is a Filipino lullaby.
Thank you for the reaction.
Their parents are still alive and Paolo who by the way composes all their songs, wrote this song to honor their parents.
Again, thank you for the reaction.
New sub here.. thanks for reacting to our PPOP KINGS SB19... GOOD LUCK to your channel... Godbless to your grandma love to see you reacting together
If grandma wants to see the live performance, youve check the wishbus performance of mapa
The MAPA song is a masterpiece. It has a lot of meaning. It depends on how you take it. It has a deep meaning too, which makes it more beautiful.
Grandma should rate it 10 coz its for the love of the parents.😊
I like the fact that you are reacting with your Nan. Thank you. It shows you have a good relationship with her.
New subscriber ❤🎉sb19 I'm atin ❤❤❤
Done subscribing bcoz of sb19
More sb19 videos please.....
You can watch them in one of their concerts or their performance in the Wish bus.
❤❤❤😢😢😢
❤🧡💛💚💙
I love my folks. I lost my dad in 2006, but I make sure my mom is well taken care of. New filipino subscriber here

Hello! there the MaPa (Mama+ Papa) video and song is not about losing lol. I appreciate your reaction to our beloved SB19🇵🇭.
It’s a tribute showing gratitude to your mom
and dad who brought you to this world. The video of the Map is telling or showing you your way back to
where you came from.
Note: SB19'S songs tells their story, their emotions. 🙂
Simply put, just telling their parents to sit down and relax; It's my turn to take care of you.
Basically, its a tribute to parents…that they can rest from taking care of them .and in return, they will take care of their parents instead.it can have a meaning in both ways but generally, its about taking care of parents ❤❤❤
thank you for explaining helps us understand the song alot more appreciate you 🥰
Mapa in filipino means “map” too …i forgot to include 😁
haha, when i looked at mapa as the title i automatically thought of Map but i knew it was about mum and dad as got explained on the gento reaction @@mayainuk600

This song is a tribute to their parents.

Keep reacting to our MAHALIMA
❤❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢😢
"Pahinga" means "to rest" in Tagalog/Filipino. The captions literally translated it. Figuratively, it means "I'll take it from here, you can unwind". "Lataratara" is a lullaby. Thank you for your RV.
No, its not about losing them its really about acknowledging and gratitude to our parents.. we give more now that their old. 😊 reverence a
"Mapa" means Mama & Papa, combined or a Map in our tagalog languange
Just subscribed to your yt channel. Greetings from SF.
Thank you so much welcome to the fam 🤘🏼♥️
❤🎉
Up🎉❤
A random conversation while doing their laundry then voila a very very heartfelt song for our parents or guardians
I guess the more fitting translation for pahinga muna, would be to relax or take it easy so as not to misinterpret it as take a rest as in dying.
New subscriber here.
I now here “cheddar” “cheddar” during lataratara because of your nan 😅
