Omg I've seen this house irl 23 years ago. It was a little different for they had made changes to the house on the outside & a small guesthouse too..plus there was a little uphill driveway to get to the house..but when you know the history of this house and then you see it you cant help but get this dreadful feeling over you..oofff... still sends chills up my spine. 😧😬👀
This was a very interesting commentary about the family’s experience. He is so well spoken and seems absolutely genuine. I believe every word, every experience and am so thankful they were able to escape the evil of the house.
I remember that day. I grew up in Islip NY near Amityville It tour us apart, before this it quiet u left your doors unlocked and windows open. After this no one felt safe u needed to lock doors and keep windows shut and locked. Life was never the same in Suffolk county LI ever again.
It was so creepy in the Netflix docu that was the son's side of the story how when him and George were outside and looked up and saw the pig in the window, he said it looked like a cartoon character. I thought that was so strange!
I live down the road, it’s been 15 yrs since we moved here. We know the new tenants and the ones before. They both said it’s nonsense and have NEVER had an issue, not once. To this day, everyday, we have people stopping down the street, taking video and selfies, etc. Besides that it’s just a normal home. As far as it’s history with the Lutz family, we may never know
There was an exorcism performed Pryor to the family moving in.... I feel the was true evil in that home. Not saying that the young man wasn't mentally I'll but I wouldn't doubt if it had a part in him killing his family.
People, the facts of the case should still be public record. Go check it out, we analyzed in my first law class in college and it’s a cover up. Ronald would’ve been killed if he were home, and since he stayed quiet and confessed he was safe in jail. He did not have shot gun residue. No physical evidence whatsoever pointing to him being involved. The family were heavily involved in the mob. The paranormal stuff took on a life of its own, America is easy to deceive.
They failed to mention in this video that Ronald DeFeo was not the purchaser (or owner) of the Amityville house... his wife Louise was, which in turn, had been paid for in FULL by her Father and Mother. It was hoped that with a "clean slate" per-say that "Ronald" would stop abusing his family (by way of alleviating some of the financial burden).. the rest is history. Louise Defeo had the money AND owned the house outright... which cumulated in the "high hopes" sign at the front of the house. The "High Hopes" being that that MAN of the house would actually step up to the plate and provide for his family. HIGH HOPES INDEED...Difficult to believe that this important FACT has been left out of any investigation. Ronald Defeo Jnr grew up in a family where boys were elevated and the girls were subjugated. There was no respect because the Father was a wife beating bully and a failure. Hard to believe after all these years that no one ever bothered to mention WHO actually paid for and OWNED THE HOUSE before it was purchased by the Lutz family.
Regardless of the windows or the address being changed, people know the house. Some people even drive by it feeling weird and they immediately know that’s the house

And I woulda stayed nevermind making up some bullshit story about it being haunted. There plan backfired because they didn't get rich from that story, everyone else did except for the lutzes.
I bought a pickup truck a block away from the house where this happened, when I was test driving the truck the guy asked me if I wanted to see the house I told him no and drove down toward the bay the other way. I wasn't really interested at the time.
I would like to know what the Lutz's children have to say about the haunting. I for one don't believe that it was ever haunted. The Lutz's were greedy and decided to cash in on one families tragedy. I'd like to see if any of the former owners of the house had any paranormal experiences. Which I doubt that they ever did.
From what I've seen and read, no subsequent owner has reported any activity. Daniel Lutz supports the haunting story, at least part of it. He did say George was dabbling in the occult and that was the reason they had the experience that they did.
Just because one family experiences things doesn't mean the next will some are more sensitive then others and more vulnerable then others in certain areas
Amityville Horror was the 1st scary book I ever read as a kid. Think I was about 16 or 17? 🤔Traumatized for a long time! I didn’t think the movie did it justice!
I don't understand if the land was "infested with demons" than why is it only one house that is hounted? Aren't the neighbors suffering? Shouldn't they?
I'm from Long Island. December and January are freezing. I had a fireplace. When it's that cold you don't use it. It sucks the heat right out of your house. Him being cold is explainable. That was a huge old house on the water. It's windy on the water.
As he said near the beginning people were buried face down. The family members were all laying face down when they were killed. It was meant to be unfortunately by the demons.
Its because its known to be souls lift forward. But stupid people who murder dont realize a spirit will guide theyre soul to look around theyre death even face down.
Actually guys, everyone was placed on their stomachs afterwards so it would look like a Mafia hit. I'm betting that was Ronnie's idea, since his first panicked thought was to claim to police that the Mafia shot them. He thought it would be a good alibi since the Dad had already received death threats! No matter which direction a person is shot from, the mafia usually leaves a "sign" by placing people on their stomachs if possible. Also most definitely shooting them in the head, etc...
If you read into it, there are hundreds of pictures of that hallway. There was a camera set up one evening that took pictures all night. Most came out with nothing to be seen. There was just the one with the boy seen in it.
Bella Noir you can read the Salem transcripts, no one was burned. All but one were hanged. One was “pressed to death” for refusing to either answer yea or nay to the charges.
If it was true, how come the family that lives there today doesn't have any problems? Because it was all made up. The Lutz's were in over their heads buying an $80,000 house (the cost of it in the mid 70's). And Ronnie Defeo was a drug and alcohol abuser, who was angry at his father's authority. He was a very irresponsible person, who didn't want to support the entire family once his father was dead, so he decided to kill all of them. Nothing supernatural about it. Just drugs, anger, and greed, that drove these two families...
They renovated the quarter windows and made them square so people would stop passing by to see it. The Defeo's were also financially taken care of by the Ron Sr. in-laws who helped them stay at the house
"Ketcham....Kill 'em" I've got a few books on this case including the DeFeo courtroom transcripts.. pretty interesting. One of the books has what happened to different people who bought things from the house at the Amityville house auction but my favourite one is about what the Lutzes went through. I love the movie version with Ryan Reynolds as George Lutz. Creepy asf.
@@melisacai1992 It's called Amityville Horror; The Evil Escapes. The people who buy items being sold at the house's yard sale have nightmarish things happen after bringing the items home. Jennifer Cole Oh welp....I, and countless others, liked it. The original relied on a shit ton of jumpscares aswell🤷🏻♀️. It might be loosely but it's still based on the Lutzes so should definitely share the name. It had the DeFeo incident, the kids' babysitter etc..plus George getting opressed and on the very edge of possession. It merits the Amityville Horror title.
@@melaniesaucedo1073 I'd say "The Amityville Horror; The True Story". I'm positive that's the one with the detailed accounts of what they went through in the 28 days living in the house. It was controversial when it came out (about 1977) because the Lutzes and Jay Anson claimed it all true but many didn't believe them. There's a few good ones but that's the beginning of the series of books and very detailed.
Btw..another thing that is not said in the media but is known in Long Island community is that the father of the dafeo's (who many that knew him say he was very evil..ppl feared him..he was a no good man..he was unfaithful to his wife..which she knew but did nothing for fear of him & his connections also the $$$ that was coming in & being one of the mob wives w $$$) he was w the mob & owned a chop shop were rumors been told that was a cover up for the mob to send to bodies to disappear. let's put it this way people. ive shot a .32, there loud. everyone in that house would have woke up and done something or moved around. but no one got up or woke up. even when the shot was right next to them. how could they not wake up from gun shots in there room? ronald defeo was already cold on the inside and thats how the demon got him. he was getting angry and going crazy, but thats how they can get you. thats how they control your mind. so the demon held the family down as he shot them.

The timeline is pretty compact: Nov. '74: multiple homicides took place in the house Dec. '75: the Lutz family moved in Jan. '76: the Lutz family fled Sept. '77: the book got published Summer '79: the movie hit theaters across the nation
My Grandfather worked across the road from Mr. DeFeo Sr., who blames Ronnie for the murders, saying he was a very heavy drinker, and heavy into the drugs but even before so, had a temper and was basically the black sheep. The family was no the 'happy family' portrayed, rather Mr. DeFeo Jr was broke, and convinced his Dad to help him by heavily funding the purchase of the house. @@danielletaylor6319 I know right!!! This family had issues from the get go! The son was a heroin addict for crying out loud. The video says when the son left a few times the father would always go find and bring him home. Bringing an active drug addict home is like bring the devil home.
It would not have taken me 28 days to leave.if there was any paranormal activity happening in my/your house, you leave immediately. They can investigate all they want once I have left.
pompalaloca what if it follows you then what.?
Well they left in the middle of the night and without any belongings. That in itself is enough to hold me back from completely dismissing the paranormal part of this. Would you have a loan for a house and within barely a month just get up in the middle of the night and leave.....not even take any of your stuff????
Amen to that... Once i walked in i would been like whoosh Gone...
pompalaloca back then it was different though. Paranormal stuff was looked at completely different then now.
My family and I have lived in haunted places and we just stayed, matter of fact our neighbors houses were haunted and they stayed too.
Yeah I saw the house like I think last year. I took pics of the outside.. Looks totally different!

Creepy family portrait...the whole story is just crazy. A lot if dysfunction...
You dont have to worry about believing in evil, it most definitely believes in you.
This was a very interesting commentary about the family’s experience. He is so well spoken and seems absolutely genuine. I believe every word, every experience and am so thankful they were able to escape the evil of the house.
I believe very word

As far as it’s history with the Lutz family, we may never know
When you consider the amount of foot traffic would you blame the entity for moving to some place else.
The house was more than likely already haunted before Ronnie killed his whole family and that made him do it
ApocalypticStorms are you really sure. who built this house?
There was an exorcism performed Pryor to the family moving in.... I feel the was true evil in that home. Not saying that the young man wasn't mentally I'll but I wouldn't doubt if it had a part in him killing his family.
King Of Texas that is only an excuse! He made the decision to kill them not some made up demon!
Weird Galaxy no supernatural entity made defeo do it. he made himself do it.
How can dey make up a story like this if they hadn't experienced
Those 1/4 circle windows are very creepy but I really like them.
Cat AMD Sadly, the current owners had them removed, so the house is less recognizable...

Because Ronnie was inside getting high as hell the whole time.
@@ssherrierable hahaha! Lmao!!! BUT, Dawn did drugs too...but I don't think she shot heroin like Ronnie Jr. did.
you know, if I was searching for a house, and I found that awesome place for 80 grand, I would've jumped at the opportunity also.
I wasn't really interested at the time.
i had interactions with one too... it scared me a lot, but i always search answers for what happened
I used to work with a lady that lived near that house. She said all the local people knew the haunted stories were all BS
What do you mean?
Go in there see what happened?
I herd the same the house is owned by a lawyer now been there for years
Just because one family experiences things doesn't mean the next will some are more sensitive then others and more vulnerable then others in certain areas
The real horror story is the 6 members of the Defeo family murdered. Much more interesting story than some fake haunting.

I don't understand if the land was "infested with demons" than why is it only one house that is hounted? Aren't the neighbors suffering? Shouldn't they?
It was the drug abuse that drove him to shot his family not some voice in his head
I'm from Long Island. December and January are freezing. I had a fireplace. When it's that cold you don't use it. It sucks the heat right out of your house. Him being cold is explainable. That was a huge old house on the water. It's windy on the water.
the director sure likes those eye like windows on the house
As he said near the beginning people were buried face down. The family members were all laying face down when they were killed. It was meant to be unfortunately by the demons.
True
And how about the possibility of Ronald Sr. having mafia dealings in, for example, money laundering?
The only “demon” in that house was Ronnie DeFeo.
I agree , he blamed it on spirits. I believe his drugs using drove him nuts and he just wanted to eliminates nice life
What left field did that come out of?
That’s just Atheistic heresy.
Man I would wake real quick to go if I heard a shot gun go off in the house. This does not make sense really.
If you read into it, there are hundreds of pictures of that hallway. There was a camera set up one evening that took pictures all night. Most came out with nothing to be seen. There was just the one with the boy seen in it.
Yea nuts wonder if he is still there.
That guy... ugh... witches in Salem weren't burned at the stake, they were hanged. Burning at the stake is a European thing. But whatever... lol
One was burned I believe and all the others were hanged along with my ancestor.
it was Europeans who came here so why wouldnt they bring their "traditions"?
Bella Noir you can read the Salem transcripts, no one was burned. All but one were hanged. One was “pressed to death” for refusing to either answer yea or nay to the charges.
My cat is a real devil, naughty too.
The house isn't haunted I know because I live in it today and I've never experienced any paranormal activity in it yet

no body knows the truth just the things that we hear, so we really cant say that hes lying cause we werent there
he ain't lying he is telling the truth
If it was true, how come the family that lives there today doesn't have any problems? Because it was all made up. The Lutz's were in over their heads buying an $80,000 house (the cost of it in the mid 70's). And Ronnie Defeo was a drug and alcohol abuser, who was angry at his father's authority. He was a very irresponsible person, who didn't want to support the entire family once his father was dead, so he decided to kill all of them. Nothing supernatural about it. Just drugs, anger, and greed, that drove these two families...

When forces unseen chose you out you'll "go with the flow" not understanding what you agree to; feels right at the time.
They renovated the quarter windows and made them square so people would stop passing by to see it. The Defeo's were also financially taken care of by the Ron Sr. in-laws who helped them stay at the house

"Ketcham....Kill 'em"
I've got a few books on this case including the DeFeo courtroom transcripts.. pretty interesting. One of the books has what happened to different people who bought things from the house at the Amityville house auction but my favourite one is about what the Lutzes went through. I love the movie version with Ryan Reynolds as George Lutz. Creepy asf.
Which book is about what the people bought?
@@melisacai1992 It's called Amityville Horror; The Evil Escapes. The people who buy items being sold at the house's yard sale have nightmarish things happen after bringing the items home. It's a pretty good book...but then I'm an Amityville Horror fan. Each chapter is the POV from each person who bought things from the sale and the horror they endure
Which is the best book to read about it all?
@@melaniesaucedo1073 I'd say "The Amityville Horror; The True Story". I'm positive that's the one with the detailed accounts of what they went through in the 28 days living in the house. It was controversial when it came out (about 1977) because the Lutzes and Jay Anson claimed it all true but many didn't believe them. There's a few good ones but that's the beginning of the series of books and very detailed.
I have heard about the house I watched a documentary on it over here in England
Miss History's Mysteries. Wish they still showed it on TV.
Its time for Halloween 🎃 and these great scary stories!!!!!!!
This is just another example of something we,'ll find the truth about in the afterlife, like who was Jack the Ripper and like that.
In the family there was drugs, violence foul language abuse, secrets lies & a very unhappy family. Those who believe that having these negative factors in your life can for surely attack demons..real spiritual demons & inner demons.
P.s. UPDATE: btw I was writing this way at the beginning & then realized that much of what I wrote was told in the documentary..sorry by that.

True! They had already done the research before they moved in. But they tried to get on Good Morning America like they didn't know nothing. They seemed very educated to me, The Lutz family.
come on, everybody already knows this was a lie. they made it up to sell a book and sadly made movies too.
let's put it this way people. ive shot a .32, there loud. everyone in that house would have woke up and done something or moved around. but no one got up or woke up. even when the shot was right next to them. how could they not wake up from gun shots in there room? ronald defeo was already cold on the inside and thats how the demon got him. he was getting angry and going crazy, but thats how they can get you. thats how they control your mind. so the demon held the family down as he shot them.

So he was possessed up until the point of his arrest or......? 🤔 I don't think possession as much as I believe a drug induced psychosis maybe 😞
Only reason for this is if he drugged them.
I think you're absolutely right I think the demons put them in a coma like state so Ronny Defeo could kill them demons can make you do anything those demons wanted to destroy that family and they made Ronny Defeo do it and in turn they also destroyed the life of Ronny Defeo Ronny Defeo is in jail and will never get out that's how demons work Demons like to kill steal and destroy I feel sorry about the whole situation yes even Ronny Defeo I know it's a hard thing to do but we should pray for Ronny Defeo maybe he's still possessed and if so he needs us true Christians to pray for him
Was the shooting during a thunderstorm? If so I guess it's possible.
