I’m listening to this and crying and have a lump in my throat. I was just smoking enjoying myself. I turned 41 this year and all I can think all the past that’s gone. When I was younger I was in an Indy band and a pro wrestler but quit to start a family. During my time I lost the band and quit wrestling 9 years later we were engaged and I was gonna adopt her kids and she cheated. On my 16th birthday my father was killed. While engaged I became a hermit during that time my grandfather died of bone cancer then a year later my grandma followed. My best friend growing up ended his life after an argument with one of his daughter he was in the army and even came back a sole survivor from a mission. Another friend grew lost from baby mama drama to a kid not his died of an over dose. Then the ex cheated on me and the kids turned their back on me. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 liver disease cirrhosis . Then about a year ago my brother had a scare with teatict cancer but turned out to be a cyst. My mother then was diagnosed with cervical cancer, it was operable all this but then I remember my past. All those people every holiday at my grandparent up till they died then my aunt chose the house and we still have Christmas there with a big picture of my grandparents watching over us. My dad though dead and I stayed single and only had a miscarriage with the ex I try to be like me dad and grandpa strong men and some sort of figure. One time my sister came to me when I was leaving her house were minutes apart and said when she came down the stairs she thought she saw my dad. The outsiders “nothing gold can stay”. Enjoy life I have to go listening to something else I’m done now cause of this.

This song hits you on every level of life. When friends move away we grow older friends come and go relationships end and people pass on. I’m listening to this and crying and have a lump in my throat. I was just smoking enjoying myself. I turned 41 this year and all I can think all the past that’s gone. When I was younger I was in an Indy band and a pro wrestler but quit to start a family. During my time I lost the band and quit wrestling 9 years later we were engaged and I was gonna adopt her kids and she cheated. On my 16th birthday my father was killed. While engaged I became a hermit during that time my grandfather died of bone cancer then a year later my grandma followed. My best friend growing up ended his life after an argument with one of his daughter he was in the army and even came back a sole survivor from a mission. Another friend grew lost from baby mama drama to a kid not his died of an over dose. Then the ex cheated on me and the kids turned their back on me. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 liver disease cirrhosis . Then about a year ago my brother had a scare with teatict cancer but turned out to be a cyst. My mother then was diagnosed with cervical cancer, it was operable all this but then I remember my past. All those people every holiday at my grandparent up till they died then my aunt chose the house and we still have Christmas there with a big picture of my grandparents watching over us. My dad though dead and I stayed single and only had a miscarriage with the ex I try to be like me dad and grandpa strong men and some sort of figure. One time my sister came to me when I was leaving her house were minutes apart and said when she came down the stairs she thought she saw my dad. The outsiders “nothing gold can stay”. Enjoy life I have to go listening to something else I’m done now cause of this.
Im 14 currently. I just recently discovered this song and it makes me think of whats to come, and if this song would remind me of my younger self when im older. So from 50 years from now i want to come back and listen to this again and see how i am and how my well being is. Maybe i’ll have a wife and kids or jobless on the streets who knows.
I’m a 63 year old mother and grandmother. Your life can be whatever you want. It won’t always be a smooth ride, but there’s always hope for a better tomorrow, no matter what happens. I sincerely hope you will find a kind girl (when you’re in your 20’s at least) and have a family. Then look for things to be grateful for each day and you will have a happy life. ❤

I can think of nothing more depressing than the thought of everyone you ever knew and loved growing old, living and experiencing ALL phases of this physical existence, and then passing on to the next level while you watch them come and go, never really having the true experience of a full life with all its ups, downs, failures, successes, etc.
