Mulholland Falls, Chinatown, LA Confidential, Devil in a Blue Dress. All excellent LA noir with stellar casts. I might at To Live and Die in LA to that list, although the style is very different.
What a f*cking cast huh...every character big or small is filled by a well known ridiculously talented actor aka the polar opposite of movies in the 21st century
This film got very polarizing reviews when it came out, with some critics calling it a well acted and elegant looking movie, while others are calling it a cliched and unfocused mess. Melanie Griffith’s performance was lambasted by both sides and garnered her a Razzie “win” for Worst Supporting Actress
@@martinshields5673 she’s actually a decent actress (have you seen her award-winning role in Working Girl?) It’s just that she picked roles that wasted her talent
Actually everything you said is true about this film. It is well acted and elegant looking but the film's plot meanders and then goes down like the airplane at the end of the movie. It doesn't quite crash it just lands. Kind of boring.
I’m here because of Jennifer Connelly
She has aged gracefully....
Most underrated film in history of cinema.
Most underrated???
Really??
I would say Chinatown or hamburger hill would be the most underrated before this one...
this exact comment can be found under almost all trailers on youtube
@@TamasLukacs-ltommie this one's the real one
far from it
Jennifer Connelly was such a perfect cast for these types of movies set in the 50s
Haven’t seen the movie , but the cast is some of the best of all time. Full of heavy hitters

I think the criticism of Griffith was unfair. She seemed just fine to me.
