- While at Knoebels Grove Amusement Park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania with family and my friend Patrick O'Connor check out his channel:
bit.ly/1BcaNcf We rode on the two train rides in the Park.
This took me back to my childhood going to Dorney Park in Allentown, PA. But this is longer and more scenic. The Dorney one was modeled on the old Zephyr engines and cars. Dorney Park is still there as a water park, but I have no idea if the old train is still there.
Thank you for watching Paul, I know of the Zephyr train at Dorney I used to ride it too.. I haven't gone to Dorney in years being that you have to pay to enter now.. I know years ago it used to a free admission park too at that time the water in the middle of the Zephyr was deeper and had a boat ride. Now Cedar Creek has been returned back to natural flow "not dammed" so they took out that boat ride. According to Google the Zephyr is still there. bit.ly/2uf5jmA
Anyways I would highly recommend to visit Knoebels as it is still a family owned park, it's still free parking, free admission, free shows, food is some of the best in the country and reasonably priced and mostly home made. The rides are cheaply priced too, no matter what age you are, it is a great park and is dog friendly too. www.knoebels.com Only thing I would recommend to visit the park during the week, on a weekend it's jammed packed..
Great shots Adam. I had so much fun riding these trains
Great, glad you had fun
Fantastic Job Adam I will be soon there next month doing the same thing video the trains like I do every year I go there man way to go
Thank you very much Tim, yeah Knoebels is just one of those great parks with some great traditions and rides. My family has been going to the park for over 30 years now every summer..
What manufacturer made the Green and the red locomotive
I believe the locomotives and the track of the Pioneer train are from the Allan Herschell Ride company. The ole Smokey train is an actual replica model of a working steam train, that one actually uses real coal for fuel.
@@LibertyRailfan there’s a place called Sunnyside Gardens and they also have a Allan Herschel train there too but it’s a older looking than The one in the video
@@jennifergauthier3014 yeah from what I know they many of train rides over the years so models/types and looks over the years they were made obviously changed. For the Knoebels Pioneer train they have steam locos and the one streamlined diesel all made by Allen Herschell.
Nice little train
Thank you very much Nate greetings from Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania.
Your welcome Adam
I went here when I was a toddler in 1970 and still love this place
Thank you for Carbide Jones, yup this is truly one of the last gems of old school amusement parks left in the United States. I don't care what others think when I say this but to me this place is better than Disney World. Here as we know this is part a campground resort, its dog/pet friendly, free admission, free parking, free shows. The homemade food here is top notch, the rides are reasonably prices also if you are a veteran or currently in the military they give $20 in free ride tickets, Disney could learn a thing or two. Knoebels is the best, no other free Amusement park in PA comes close.
Nice!
Thank you very much TrainsWow™ greetings from Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania.
Wow, nice amusement park, great train rides. The frontier train covered some territory and beautiful green scenery. Nice work Adam that was very enjoyable!
- Larry
Thank you very much Larry greetings from Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. Yeah the Pioneer Train is a 1.5 mile ride into the woods "the back of the park". What is nice at the end loop the staff made some animal feeders so the train always goes a bit slower to spot some wildlife.
Thank's nice, wish we had an amusement park like that here in California, thanks again Adam!
- Larry
they now have a new rollercoaster coaster caled the impulse its extremly scary cause it starts with a verticaly climb to the top folowed by a vertical down drop which turns into a bunch of twists and turns and even a loop
Yup been on it several times last year and this year, Knoebels is a great park overall..
very cool.
