    There are many species of bamboo, but most nurseries mainly stock these species:
    Phyllostachys species -> running bamboos.
    Bambusa, Dendrocalamus, Gigantochloa and Fargesia species -> Clumping bamboos.
    I think the first bamboo is a Bambusa vulgaris cv. 'vittata'.

    1:15 as you can see by the wide strip beside the roadway it’s easy to divert it’s growth pattern away from the road simply by keeping it mowed down. If you don’t mow it though it will grow right through the asphalt.

    Im not familiar with plants or planting at all, can you please answer my question. I want to cover about 70 feet for privacy of clumping plant bamboo. So do i need to plant the whole 70 feet of bamboo plants in a row? Or do i just plant a few for say 10 feet and the rest will will grow by themselves? Thank you

      6 or 7 plants ten feet apart, till and mulch the ground between.

    Finally, I've learned what kind of bamboo I have that is growing in my back yard and popping up EVERYWHERE and slowly creeping towards our "above ground vinyl pool" :o I don't know what to do....I just keep it off bay a bit by snipping the new growths that pop up in the yard, randomly, and then pouring a bit of ROUND UP or WEED BE GONE, full strength, right out of the cap, down into the center hole of the snipped piece...it's getting to be a pain, and YES, the neighbors hate me! LOL You are right! B/c now it's popping up along and inside their fenceline!!! What to do?

      You need to find and remove every single piece of rhizome. Poison won't do it.

    this is not invasive VS clumping, it is running VS clumping. Everything will become invasive if you don't care for it.

    I have bamboo here and it's a bloody pest. Shame as I like the look of bamboo. Not the invasive bamboo but it's a pain in the arse. At least it holds the fence up.
