Thanks for the tips ma'am. Just a couple doubts regarding volunteering/internships: 1. Which one would you pick out of paid and unpaid internships? Could you suggest some niche areas of internships for someone who's interested in anything that involves communicating with people? (I'm on the bench rn so I can make time for sure) 2. Is it really important to have a proof (like a certificate of contribution) of volunteering? Because my mom knows a person who works for an NGO and only thing that's stopping me from going forth is the feeling that i might sound insincere if i bring up the certificate thingy.
1) both are good. The brand matters. Paid is better from your POV, but no one asks in any interview if it was paid or not. Try ad agencies. You’ll get a chance to dabble with marketing and it’s also based on communication. The pay will be a pittance though. Or an HR internship. Where you can contribute to hiring and campus recruitment. 2) from B-School admission pov, not needed. From a summer/final placement standpoint, yes, you’ll need solid proofs.
Hi Milana, this was helpful, thank you! And yes - a video on curating a sector-specific/job-specific CV would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
