That is a flood or the end of the tsunami it is not waves and the other blue side is not water, the brown water is moving, in 1 direction only.
On the whole Moses thing that's just one more of the many examples of a combination of Lost in translation and extremely exaggerated for romantic effect.
It was actually the Reed sea as in something that's like a marsh. It's still over there and still exists and it still blows away on a regular basis because it's only a few feet deep. Think of it kind of like the tide going out. There's more land you can walk on and when the tide comes back its water and mud. So basically that's what happened and people on the foot could never actually get away from a Calvary if they were actually right behind them. So basically they left and crossed the marsh and that was the wind that had nothing to do with a man and then when the Egyptians were coming by that time the wind and water receded and it just sounds far more romantic to say that a man split an entire sea and then the waves crashing on an army versus they got lucky and then the army got stuck in mud. But that's actually what the book says or at least the closest actual real translation that we have.
